DISCUSS THE EPISODE, HUMANS, OR I WILL IMPALE YOU ON MY SPIKE/SCYTHE THINGY!

Edit: Yes, I posted this as soon as the credits came on.

So, now we know how Megatron will come back...
Autobotic9
I liked it, was the barnacle monster part of meg's new body?

Zombie Prowl and BB. Those two bots are so funny together.

"Bumblebee, I think you were supposed to do that while we were OUTSIDE!!!"
I.S.T.
No, his old body. Some damage was taken during the crash, obviously, but that is definitely megs' body. Next episode is when all hell will break loose, and in a way it will all be Sumdac's fault.
Lord Madhammer
Mostly filler, but fun. I loved the Constructicons / Sparkplug nod.

I forgive them these filler episodes, because all hell is in fact about to break loose.

Agreed
Bestimus Mucho
so are space barnacles related to mynocs?
Agent TMan
Speaking of this as a filler episode, Did anyone else laugh when Prime said, "Think of it as a Character builder"?

I'm just happy Bulkhead wasn't all over the screen as normal.
Bestimus Mucho
aw, I like bulkhead icon_sad.gif
JustLOKIPLVY
Awesome ep.

A lot of fun with some great one liners.

BB "You don't see my game player turning everyone into mindless zombies." laughlol.gif

Was I the only one thinking Scraplets the whole time?

Really liked the way the episode ended with a lead in to the next. clap.gif

Great ep. Not only did it have a good story, but it also gave some plot development at the end. It is speculated that Sumdac may have found Meg's body. This is both right and wrong at the same time IMO, because the section he found was too small to be Megatron's entire body. Maybe just his chest.
pathfinder74
I was thinking it might be Devastator under all the barnacles... I guess it might been a little to small. Might have been cooler if Sari put the key to it and when they burned off the all the crud it would be all the construction vehicles, which would now have a spark... and viola... constructicons.

Maybe it's foreshadowing? Who knows?

Great episode.
Bumblebee=WIN
Prowl=Win
Bumblebee and Prowl=win

It was the perfect filler episode. Entertaining, plus it kept the momentum of series moving forward into next week.
Pun-3X
This ep was decent--nothing special. It does seem to be leading into the revival of Megatron, finally, so there's definitely good to come from all this.

By the way, and I may have just missed it or don't remember, but was the computer system ever referred to as Teletran-1 before? I would assume so, but I can't be sure...
onixprime
it was a pretty good episode. funny more then anything. i like the little foreshadowing to the constructicons.

Yes it was, in the First episode, when Prime sends the probe out to scan for alt modes
Father Time
I wouldn't call this a filler episode at all. It was a solid story, with excellent character interaction, packed with action but without detracting from the Autobots themselves. And, it turns out the thing they were fighting was indeed very significant to the overall arc of Megatron's Return. I liked this one better than the other two previous episodes.

Enjoyable episode, I liked the interaction between Bumblebee, Prowl and Sari and the B-movie horror storyline worked for me.

am I the only one concerned that Bumblebee just kinda dropped the thing in the river and didn't check to make sure it was dead?

maybe it's not the last we've seen of this barnacle monster.
Paxtin
This episode seemed to have very little going for it. It really did just feel like a filler story.
That is up until the big reveal at the end. Then the meaning of the whole episode changed.

Not my favorite episode, but the end makes it more then just filler.
The green construction equipment the barnacles assimilated into the whole of it's body did make me think Constructicons, too. It's hard to tell if that was intentional or not. Or it was just a big monster with a steam shovel for a hand.

Well they were kind of preoccupied what with Prowl suddenly being infected with the barnacles. But yeah, it did seem weird that they didnt go back to check on it after that. Maybe they were concerned with getting Sari home by that point.
But no, I don't think we're going to see more of the baracle thing; what with the fact it was actually Megatrons body and Sumdac now has it.

Oh yeah, forgot to add:

I thought that little line Prime had at the end was funny. "And I hope that you stop backfiring soon."

Heh. Simple, but it made me laugh. thumbsup1.gif

I thought it was alright. Though I was expecting the barnicle dude to be Scrapper or something under it all.. maybe not. Ooo but I am lookin foward to the next few episodes. Things look like they're starting to heat up a bit.

Cool episode! It had some nice animation and a number of good one-liners.

And it's awesome how they had a lead in to next week's episode, too. I can't wait for the rising.

Ah so that's how everyone was cured. Seriously I never was able to get the end of that arc after both Bumblebee and Blaster were infected. Nice to finally know how it ended.

Also that make this reference in the cartoon total win. thumbsup1.gif

The Scraplets appeared in issue 29 and 30 of th US comic, infecting Goldbug, Blaster and the three Decepticon Triple Changers.

Eventually the Scraplets were killed by the three Decepticon Triple Changes, after the Throttlebots failed to kill them

That's how I thought it went. Megatron's body landed on Earth covered with space barnacles, the space barnacles took over his body (or a portion of it) to become the space barnacle monster, the space barnacles are killed and Sumdac finds Megatron's barnacle-free corpse.

Of course, that's not to say that we've seen the last of the space barnacles and possible ANOTHER space barnacle monster.

And I'm hoping that some how, some way the Constructicon-ish vehicles become actual Constructicons because of their merging with the space barnacle/megatron body.

Re: the episode. I liked it. It was a good "character builder." Bumblebee and Prowl make a good pair with Bumblebee providing the comedy and Prowl the straight man.

But If the space barnicles are killed by heat..how they survive atmospheric re-entry? I constantly keep asking myself that...

Heh. I hadn't thought of that.

Maybe just the ones on the hot side burned off (assuming his body didn't tumble), or maybe some got inside his body and were protected from the heat.

.... Maybe they're hiding inside Megatron's body, which also provides them cover from the extensive heat? And when landed on Earth, the barnacle grows even more bigger from within that body?

I doubt that, considering the intense heat..i'm sure his inside burned just as hot as the outside. then again a transformer's body is quite resistant...
Darth Caine
Well, what makes me came up to that theory is that, if the intense heat could burn up to the inside of Megatron's body, then the outer layer of his body would already been melted down to shapeless mold during the combustion on atmosphere. But no, his body stays intact, no scratches at all, so we could assume that the space barnacles are hiding safe inside his body.
Blitz
so one thing has been buggin me about this episode a rather big plot hole

at the end Sumdak finds that part of megatron I asume its part of his chest peace looking at it... it has a decepticon logo as big as his head on it... and sumdak knows about the decepticons being all evil... so why didnt he go "oh noes" rather he just goes oh yay megatron will be happy i found this chunk of him I better be fast and get it in the truck
Darth Caine
He too busy on lab, and way too persuaded by Megatron's kindness, and doesn't interact much with the Autobots to learn lessons about Decepticons' evilness, unlike his daughter?
Vortex prime
Yeah...i don't exactly remember isaac encountering any decepticons(other then megatron), or knowing about them for that matter...

corrected.
Blitz
still he knows the logo he knows their evil and the autobots foes even if he is megatrons Starscream its only because he assumes megatron isn't evil but with that glaring proof he is a decepticon.... yeah plot hole that could have been fixed if say the logo was removed

and yeah he knows about the decepticons just watch episode one when we see Screamer taking him hostage on top of his screw shaped tower with fanzone and BB

I was wondering about this too. If it didn't have the symbol though, we wouldn't have known it was Meg's body.....With what little they showed anyway.
Darth Caine
Apart from the seemingly-death Screamer from the premiere episode, probably Prof. Sumdac is convinced that there are no more Decepticons on Earth, and heck, he doesn't even got to learn the differences of Autobot and Decepticon insignia on first episode, Screamer vs Autobots battle didn't gave him that kind of clue. And also, another Sumdac's interaction with Cybertronians, apart from Starscream, is Megatron on his lab, and Dinobots, when they're wreaking havoc on the downtown. But that's all, and all of those events, got no clues that points him to recognize the insignia of Decepticons.

Well then, probably next week, Megatron's gonna appreciate and express his thankful feeling to Sumdac...... the hard way.

but sumdak made the dinobots (with some help maybe more then what he thinks) so the autobot logos were put their by sumdak so they can not reflect the 2 factions at all. the logos I guess were added as a tribute and to add the Bot to dinobot

The core problem in this case is Prof. Sumdac himself, not about the world opinion on Decepticons.

I doubt he even knows about the Decepticon insignia on Megatron's body. Points given are, he's way too convinced by Megatron's helpfulness and false kindness, also probably about his debts to Megatron for reverse-engineering study from his severed head to create earth automatons. And also, due to his lack of interaction with the Autobots, especially during battle against the Decepticons, could also contribute to his lacks of caution and knowledge about the still-existing Decepticons' threats. (and their insignia).

Well, those are my 2 cents.
