WINDOWS - NO DISK
Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c

I'm about ready to shoot my computer through the head. This is driving me nuts as I can't google an answer.

This is happening on my program MGI PhotoSuite 8.1, its an older program but its what I like. It was working fine on my computer at home before and it works fine at work too.

All of the sudden at home it decided to through that error up on me. I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, even tried installing on a different drive!

I've also tried updating my memory card reader drivers (even unplugged them and reassigned drive letters), uninstalled Quicktime but I won't be unistalling Norton 360 anytime soon. Why did I state this? Because every topic I found through Google has mentioned each one of these as a possible solution.

So just short of shooting my computer and reinstalling the OS, what should I do?

Window Media Center PC.

Have you tried that system rollback malarkey? Have you got a log of the programs you've updated since the last time you've used it without errors? It could help pinpoint it.

If it's Norton interfering you could always try some of the programs on this page: http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/read.php?4,27725,backpage=

The reason you aren't finding a solution is because it has nothing to do with Photosuite.

I've seen the first link already and the only thing I have left to try from that is to disable norton and see if it works.

The second link is for Vista but it did give me some ideas.

The Removable Disks: Deny read access Group Policy setting and the Removable Disks: Deny write access Group Policy setting are enabled on the computer. There is no media in the card reader.Note This problem may also occur under other conditions. For example, this problem may occur if the GrooveMonitor.exe process is running.

I'll try putting memory cards into the readers as well.

Its so damn annoying to run through this, if I can't get this to work it looks like a complete re-install may be next to do.

As for the System Restore option, I have no idea to what point I'd be restoring to.

1) Not to be condenscending, but you use Norton? Ick! Never had anything but issues with Norton. There are several freeware A/V programs that work quite well, such as Avast or AVG.

2) Have you ran spyware checkers? Something like Ad-Aware or SpyBot S&D. One of the symptoms might be malware on your system

3) As far as a system restore, determine when you started having the error message, then go 3 days prior to that (to be safe) and restore from that point.

4) If all else fails (I doubt the problem is that extreme), then wiping your drive and starting over should be a last ditch effort. Restore is more than likely your best bet to fix it, but running the spyware scans will more than likely find something.

Yeah I use Norton 360. I've used Norton for a long time and its seems to do the job (and I've used Norton in conjuction with my Photosuite prior to this).

fyi, norton is a resource hog and literally takes over your computer... just saying...

also you would be restoring to a date prior to having the problems you're having.

if that doesn't work then trying running your photosuit in compatibility mode. if all else fails ask the guys @ www.bleepingcomputer.com they've been a great help in the past.

yes, I know this. 360 makes it an exclamation on boot up. MSCONFIG helps to fix that though.

That sounded like Charlie Brown teacher speak...quick google search should clear this up.
Buddykiller
basically you just right click either the shortcut to photosuit or go to the photosuit folder and right click on the main program. select properties then go to the compatibility mode tab. select one of the options, more than likely windows 98/me. this helps windows xp run some older software (media center, iirc, is a modified version of xp).

although, you should just hurry up and switch over to photoshop tounge1.gif

but yea, if you can't fix it, def head over to bleepingcomputer.com
ROSEDOGGYDOG
Sooo I fixed it.

admin tools - computer management - device manager - USB Controllers and disabled the media card reader, then enabled it again. The program worked fine after that.

On the flip side before figuring this out I tried putting memory cards in the reader bad idea. It only added to the errors once I took the cards out.

The only time I've done that was when I installed Java to get a program to run right and was in a time crunch.

Did you tried to scream at it but talk slower, like it was from another country? That should do the trick.

Sadley, no....I just ended up with a broken mouse.
Tripredacus
Do you actually use the card reader? Are they part of the floppy drive?

I hate those things.

If you don't use them, they should be connected to the motherboard to one of the USB headers.
