OK your first step is to update your video card drivers. The WDDM drivers are the ones that Vista automatically installed. If you don't like the CCC (it adds about 5 processes to your total) you can find non-CCC drivers if you search for them.

CCC = Catalyst Control Center.

Second, you're running 128 bit sound, so don't bother hooking up more than 2 speakers or 1 sub and 2 speakers to your PC unless said speakers aren't primarily PC speakers (aka made for stereo equipment). AC97 is bare bones. If you want good sound in games, get yerself a soundcard...

Which MSI board is it BTW? I've worked with the P4M800/900 series and the P6NGM-L, and some older boards as well...

Your CPU isn't too great but I bet its better than your last one huh. I think AMD's best CPU (not counting their 2x dual) is the 64x2 (dual core 64 bit) cpu. I don't know much about AMD CPUs other than what we use at work.

How much did this run ya?

Also, is that Previa a physics card? (I read something about them today and it sounded familiar)

Hey and since yer running Vista, what is your experience rating?
I.S.T.
Somebody handed you their old PC parts?

my motherboard is a K8N Neo V2.0 and my processer came with it for 70 bucks off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=170195912115
and my old processer was 1.1 GHZ and my old motherboard was from like windows 98 era and the rest of my old computer had 512mbs of ram 80gb IDE HDD and the same video card and was running windows XP Home.
and for vista its a meh right now the only thing i don't like is how much processing power it takes, like when every i load a new web page it goes from 8% usage to 40% to 90 something %
and here is the cost no tax
case $80
power supply 550 watt $49
dvd burner $40
ram $84
HDD 500 gb 109 can't remeber the 80 gb because i got it years ago
video card was $120 at the time
and the floppy was like $10
so around 490
