Is there any way to get Vista to play the game? I keep getting the Battlefeild2142.exe has ran into a problem... Close the programme or Search online for a solution.
I clicked the search option, nothing...
I have installed the 1.4 patch and no results.

Damn. Looks like you're running into a similar issue that has no fix.

This is probably EA's fault. EA has been known to put out quite buggy games(look up the madden 2006 and 7 PSP and X360 debacles).

Yea, it puts up the pic of the Walker, goes to blackscreen then that annoying Vista box comes up, says its looking for a solution online, finds nothing and im back to windows.. Hell you would have thought EA would have brought a patch out for it, PC games aint cheep.

Oh, you have no idea how many buggy games have been released that haven't had a single official patch.

The game I've been playing for the last few hours(Project: Snowblind) has no patch, despite many people buying a copy and it not even working for them!

Did you try disabling the UAC or do a run-as administrator with it?

Also, what gets logged in your Event Viewer?

I have no idea how to use the Event Viewer, but yes I have disabled the UAC and RC Run as ad.. I changed them over and it says "unable to find disc please insert in drive" When just 30 seconds before the splash screen with the play, uninstall etc comes on...

The game I was talking about was made by Eidos.

I don't run Vista so I forget which section the Application log is in, but if you game crashes and shows you that "windows had a error lol" message, then it wrote a log for it.

The only time I've seen errors like that concerning the disc and retail games (aka not wares or copies) is when the copy protection software acts up. I tried helping a guy online with his NHL08 on XP and it turned out his SecuROM software (the copy protection used on that game) was preventing the game from running.

That event log may be hella helpful.

Do you have any err online lessons to use it? I keep getting the Event Viewer up but I have no experience in using Vista.
