Okay, I'm really just starting this thread b/c of last week's episode, "Nanosec". At the end of the episode, after Bumblebee's into-orbit-and-back rescue of practically everyone in Detroit, the Autobots roll out and then ask Bumblebee if he's coming. His response "If it's all the same to you, I think I'll walk" -- according to two of my kids anyway -- was a direct lift from the end of "The Key to Vector Sigma."
Other stuff you've noticed?

is this a count the references thing?
if it is I'd like to play captain obvious and start with
All the transformer character names except for bulkhead and black arachnia are G1 character names. Of them, all appeared in the G1 cartoon except for sentinel prime.

I need screen caps to show this (and I've mentioned it before), but the staging of the scenes with Prowl's near-death and Prime's actual death in the premiere totally mirror shots from Prime's death in TF:TM. Like, same camera angles and blocking and everything.
need screen caps, maybe later today

I get the point of this thread but I've heard that line in so many shows it's crazy. It's super cliche. Just imagine Smurf number 67 flying around on a bird the whole ep trying to show off. Things get rocky and then at the end of the ep, he says that line and every one laughs.

Actually valandar, none of the freaks were fangry homages. (fangry never became a bat anyway,he was a winged wolf.)
The two freaks were actually heavily based on Submarauder and Bomburst. two pretty freaky pretenders.

So by that definition both Megatron and Shockwave are the same difference because they're both guns?

The way the ship crashes into the mountain is as big a nod as you can get towards G1.

I think the way Megatron dispatched with Starscream was G1 movie-esque:
1) Megatron is reformatted
2) Megatron finds Starscream and takes him offline
3) Megatron asks if anyone else wants to do as Starscream did
Ultimate mecha sonic

and megs also gave his version of primes catchphrase
"transform and rise up" referring to them being flying vehicles vs. the bots being wheeled vehicles hence primes "transform and roll out"
