Well this Sunday, todayish for the England posse! We were celebrating my mother and her twins birthday as part of this we got to go on
http://www.theyellowduckmarine.co.uk/ and then we went on the
http://www.shiverpool.co.uk/ so I didn't post much.. The girl in the last tour was HOTT, and she moved like a cat. Seriously she was telling us creepy stories and my god I couldnt take my eyes off her, I wish I had asked for her number.. The first tour was one that meant alot to me, more than I realised. The vehicle is a DUKK-W a WWII landing craft that was used in the D-Day landings. The city tour was fantastic, I found out that a little tiny tower is, thanks to it not being dispanded, the SMALLEST POLICE STATION IN THE WORLD. It had to be only 2ft wider than the TARDIS. I got to see parts of the city from an entirely new perspective. We stopped infront of the White Star building and stared at the verry balcony that the Titanic's demise was announced from. I had a re-cap of the Liver Birds mythology, One faces into the city to keep watch over its safety, the other looks out to the Mersey to keep watch and guarrantee the safety of all who sail in its waters. The guide asked a question "What was there before the Liver-Birds?" after about 15 seconds of everyone staring at each other we were still none the wiser "Two giant eggs you idiots!"

, Infact there are THREE Liver-Birds, one is on a building opposite, its job? To keep watch over the Guardians, and guarantee THEIR safety. We got to see the White-Star-CO public house, the last place in the world to have press gangs operating. Apparently they were the most vicious of all, often it took new recruits DAYS to wake up from being K-O'D..
Now for why it meant so much for me to go on the DUKK, my grandfather a Royal Engineer on demolitions behind Nazi lines traveled to the war on one of those, AFTER D-Day, I have ALWAYS looked at them with awe, something that looks like a truck shouldnt be in the water. I am TERRIFYED of boats, I dont get seasick or anything I just HATE being on water. I am STILL shaking and that was 10 hrs ago! The ride from the road on the Liverpool Dock into the actual Liverpool Dock's water was a feeling I could only equate to being on the OBLIVION at Alton Towers. The vehicle bumps over a 6ish inch kerb, and heads to a ramp. The journey down the ramp is FAST, I dont know if anyone has been on an amphibious craft but, I had by that time been on the thing for 40 minutes and FULLY accepted it as a BUS, albeit a verry comfortable one! To have the feeling of a bus bumping a Kerb and riding rapidly down a ramp into water is well for my Uncle who was in the Merchant Navy traveling the world by ship was HIGHLY unnatural, For a guy with a phobia of boats? SHEESH that was intense, the feeling of road and bumps and suspension to smooth water was such a beautiful feeling. I think that StarScream feels something similar when leaving an atmosphere...
