He's not running to win. He's running to force the Democratic nominee to embrace his agenda. But I don't really think he's ever had any impact on a presidential election. Seriously. (Gore lost in 2000 because his campaign sucked.)

Gore did win the popular vote nationwide by about 500,000, not counting the 500 or so in Florida that may or may not have been counted by someone post-election. He lost the Electoral College vote.

The Supreme Court handed Bush the presidency by halting the recount before it was completed. But again, it wouldn't have needed to come to that if Gore had run a more effective campaign.

You mean Timmy? I saw that too. I was laughing when both Clinton and Obama both agreed that some troops would stay behind (as I always knew that would be the case no matter who is President). The reason I found it funny was because a co-worker was telling me up and down that ALL troops would be coming home, not one would be left behind if either of them are elected. Then again he also believed that Bill only cheated on Shillary once until I proved him wrong on that too.
I should start making him cash bets on this stuff.
I did find it really funny when Brian Williams basically said STFU to Shillary, we gotta take a commerical break. TIVO'd.

That name doesn't imply any kind of misogyny, to be fair. If a woman called John McCain "McCrap," would that be unquestionably considered misandry? No.
Not every man that dislikes Clinton is a misogynist, and not every white person that dislikes Obama is a racist, etc. Making broad generalizations based on someone calling a
political candidate a generic-ish derogatory name makes me want to send you a "Jump to Conclusions" mat.
Hmm, maybe I should've emphasized "broad" up there, so as to go for the easy pun...
Lord Madhammer

Of course, given that most national-level politicians are white males, Haggisjin does have a point. Clinton *is* the first female candidate for president. Even Obama is only the third African-American senator since *Reconstruction*, for a little historical perspective there.

I fail to see the point of Haggisjin's comment other than to be outraged, and the last damn thing we need in a political discussion is manufactured outrage.
That seems to be another in the long line of indictments of the great unwashed masses, as though either of these two candidates got as far as they did in spite of what the country at large thinks rather than because of. Yeah, there's alot of long-standing barriers being broken down on the Democratic side of things (and, to be fair, the Republican side...it seems control of the party has mercifully been wrested from the Neo-Cons), but who is responsible for the history being made, the candidates or the people voting for them?

I was just pointing out that he consistently only gives Clinton the little nicknames. It's something I've noticed elsewhere as well. Sure, Obama gets plenty of the "Osama Hussein" crap, and that is obviously motivated by racism.
I'm simply stating that calling a female senator running for president "Hillary Clinton", or as he previously called her, "Shrillary", isn't productive. It's obviously motivated by a mmisogynistic dislike of her.
FWIW, I really don't like Hillary as a candidate, but that's based on her positions rather a nickname implying that she's a shrill sounding old woman.
