Too bad he can't give his points to Mike.

And yet Ron Paul holds strong to hope. optimuslaugh2.gif

He may actually get some debate time.

Pearl Jam Will Not Rest Until John McCain Is Elected President

Pearl Jam, "Rock Around Barack"
Pearl Jam pledge their unwavering support to the Republican party with this cringe-worthy campaign song, which is so corny it's practically guaranteed to hurt Obama's chances.

That's hilarious.

I've been enjoying this song that's seriously in support of Obama.

“Barack and Hillary have made their intentions clear regarding Iraq and the war on terror. They would retreat and declare defeat,” said Romney.

“And the consequence of that would be devastating. It would mean attacks on America, launched from safe havens that make Afghanistan under the Taliban look like child’s play. About this, I have no doubt.”

CYA Romney.

Well they were here yesterday, I was surprised to hear on the Radio yesterday morning the our Governor Christine Gregoire was supporting Obama after all the help Shillary gave Gregoire in stealing the last Governor election here. These people must eat their young. Heck I might vote for Obama just so I can vote against the Shill even its the only time this year.

I should mention, last night watching Real Time with Bill Maher there was a rumor that Condoleezza Rice may be John McCains running mate.

After yesterday it looks like the Huckster is challenging Washington State because they quit counting at 87% of Precints reporting with about 1,500+/- left.

McCain led 26% (3,468) to Huckabee's 24% (3,226)

I think Mike is cleary in the right for wanting this as the lead change was multiple times yesterday.

But isn't it statistically impossible for Huckabee to pull ahead of McCain in delegates at this point? Why worry about delaying the inevitable?
DarkNarcoleptic
Is it impossible? I haven't counted.
Lord Madhammer
MSNBC says that it is mathematically impossible for Huckabee to win at this point. He has 234 delegates to McCain's 724, and they need 1191 to win the nomination. I'm not sure if I would say "mathematically impossible", just that it's highly unlikely that McCain would lose every single state from now on. Winner-take-all primaries make it really easy for McCain to clinch the nomination really soon. But certainly there is a huge amount of discontent with McCain. And it is not surprising to see Huckabee doing well as the "not McCain" candidate. (This is the part where I could go on for a very long time about the role of religion in politics, but I'll leave it.)

oh and FYI, Obama swept all four states this weekend, as well as the Virgin Islands. He's also probably going to do the same in the DC/Maryland/Virginia primaries coming up tomorrow. Clinton's campaign is looking to Wisconsin and Texas / Ohio on March 4th to slow his momentum. Which is likely to happen; she will probably do well in those states. But of course, who knows.

If he wanted to help, he could have endorsed a candidate the week before Super Tuesday.

It's not technically impossible, just highly improbable. And Huckabee is absolutely 100% right to challenge the count in Washington state. You don't just stop counting when the results start going your way and throw out the remaining votes, unless you're Florida.

Clinton: Still no congratulations for Obama
Posted: 09:55 PM ET

EL PASO, Texas (CNN) – For the second election night in a row, Hillary Clinton failed to acknowledge or congratulate Barack Obama after he won the day in dominating fashion.

On Tuesday in El Paso, hours after Virginia had been called for Obama, she stuck to her “Texas campaign kickoff” message and did not stray from an energetic, Lone Star-themed stump speech. She did mention Obama by name, only to chide his health care plan.

On Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, Clinton spoke to a crowd of thousands at the state’s annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, but she ignored Obama’s quartet of blowout primary and caucus wins that day as well (Obama also won the Maine caucuses the next day).

The courtesy of conceding a primary or caucus loss — and then congratulating your opponent — is by no means required. But it has become standard practice during campaign season.

Clinton congratulated Obama and John Edwards after their first and second place finishes in the Iowa caucuses. Obama returned the favor in New Hampshire, saying Clinton “did an outstanding job.” That courtesy continued through the early states.

But as the race has shifted to a delegate chase with dozens of states in play around the country, the notion of congratulating one’s opponent seems, for Clinton, to have fallen by the wayside.

OMG, these critics'd rake her over the coals over the smallest thing if she forgot to turn off the lights after leaving a room. She's not the most polarizing figure in the political landscape today. Her critics are.

The press too.

I'm really getting tired of their hyping up candidates, with all their talk of "Oh, blah blah bla won't do well in this state or that state blah blah"

Translation: "People watching, save yourself the trouble of actually thinking about your choice and just vote for the guy/gal we think will do well." rolleyestf.gif

It occurs to me that Clinton is basically adopting Guliani's old strategy... lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, THEN hope to win a big state at the end. Oh well, it worked for him didn't it?
Lord Madhammer
Well, that is what happens when you've been around for as long as she has. There are a lot of people who really don't like the Clintons. Like, Washington people.
SkyClonus
Man, the way she's setting this up, she'll have to crush Obama in Texas and Ohio and not just pull out a victory.

Chances: unlikely. [/omega supreme]

MSNBC was getting out the calculators on this... basically stating your point. The thing about the Texas/Ohio "firewall" for Clinton is that she's banking on Latinos (Texas) and low-income white voters (Ohio), who are increasingly breaking for Obama. He won *every* demographic (except for white women, although he is gaining in that one) in the MD/VA/DC primaries last night. And there is a significant Latino population in the DC area.

I'm still very nervous as an Obama supporter b/c it is Hillary Clinton, after all... but things are looking encouraging. Obama's campaign manager has gone so far as to say that it's "next to impossible" for Clinton to catch Obama at this point. Which makes me anxious a little; I don't like to declare victory prematurely. But certainly things are going in his direction right now.
SkyClonus
Wisconsin will be a good indicator of how his message sells w/ blue-collar workers. I'm also looking forward to Obama getting progressively more specific about his plans/views. I think he played it right; get the people behind you using a broad message and gradually add specifics as you get closer to the nomination.
Glue
Obama's lead over Clinton hasn't been anywhere as long or by as much as her lead was over him. It's hardly in the bag.
Lord Madhammer
The difference is that she started out as the presumptive nominee and he didn't. There's been a dramatic role reversal that's been gradually happening for months now. And mathematically, Clinton is running out of time. She needs to start winning by big margins, now.
Glue
She did? Coulda fooled me with all the Hillary hatred..
