so yeah G1 footage gave me a whole load of Geek wank material also SS ruled and could have won easy if the all spark hadn't fired up
also the humans i like them all so far. the doctors huge secrete about all his robots being made from Megatron's technology is a cool idea plus looking at the size of Megatrons head he will be massive even next to prime. Sari is what i want to see in a human kid, plucky, fun loving not the type we get most of the time that seem to be rather emo.
as for the jokes i really liked them, the ones that stuck out as quite cleaver was when BB and sari first meet and exchange names and when sari tells to prime how humans reproduce and you just see that shocked look on primes face

However I did like the Kup/Ratchet blending for ratchet.

Don't be too hasty there, sir. I'm laying down bets that Sari, the ten year old daughter of a mate-less, and old robot developer, isn't as human as we think she is.
Think about it - her dad was an adult when he found Megatron's head, and now
fifty later he's got a daughter? How old was he when she was born? Seventy? Eighty? Plus, she "interfaced" with the Allspark, and isn't allowed to hang out with other kids. I think these are intentional clues.

Something else to chew on: The time jump? Yeah. 50 years without knowing what's going on with Cybertron, and we know some of the other decepticons jumped away and left Starscream to die...
There's a very good chance that Cybertron won't be ruled by Ultra Magnus when they find their way home -- which, incidentally, is something only Starscream knows how to do at this point.

The only 5 Decepticons anyone's seen in forever are scattered through the universe, Megatron's head is in a factory in Detroit and the Autobots that went into stasis were just a lowly repair crew - I think Cybertron's just fine, personally.
And I'm not sure Starscream knows the way back.

I was astounded at the number of G1 references (and there were even a few Beast Wars references, too)! You can tell the writers and animators are going out of their way to appease the fanboys. It really makes the show special for the fans. The premiere itself was simply incredible. I already had high hopes for the show, and this still managed to impress me. Cool, stylized animation (I didn't even notice the radical design changes after a few minutes), FANTASTIC voice acting (Tom Kenney really stole the show, though, as Starscream), and clever writing. The perfect blend of humor, action, and good storytelling. Sari didn't even get on my nerves, which surprised me as she is the first human character in a Transformers series not to- there's still time for that, though.I can already tell that this is going to be the best Transformers series since Beast Wars/Beast Machines.

I don't think that her status as "Adopted" invalidates my theory that she's an android built by her "father" - if he never married/mated, and wanted to keep her true nature secret, he'd have to explain her presence somehow.
As for Sumdac's age when he found the head - I'll need to rewatch it, but I thought he was an adult when I saw it last night.

TF animated, how do I hate thee. let me count the ways.
1). the animation is eve worse than ben 10. like what's up w/thoes strero sypical animé mouths??? its lame enough when its done in Jap animé, but even lamer when Americans try to dub it.
2). the bots transformation! some one already said one moment you see parts moving & the next its like a magic trick. well IMO even when the parts do "so called move", its still not good enough!
3). plot & storyline. ok, so let me get this straight UM & Ratchet are still old as dirt, but some how OP sounds like he still needs a booster seat when going to the movies! ok maby that's to harsh, but dude deffinatly sounds like he's not old enough to sit at a bar & order a drink.
why-O-why does Hollywood constantly feel the lame ass need to make the star young so stupid kids can feel they relate to the chacter??? when I was a child I NEVER NEEDED ANY SUCH THING!
TFs 80ies still became an icon hit w/out the dumbing down effect.
3). the way the humans look! ok, so we see the Witwicly family in the background & there for get a sence of what humans look like, right!
so what in the hell happened to the human race that now all of a sudden every one has football & basketball size heads & feet that are TOTALY disporportionate to their bodies!
4). what's the deal w/the suspended animation chambers??? think about it people! why the hell would a robot need a refigerated sleep chamber? & the hell did the have need of useing them if OP directed the ship in to a water landing! we later see (like in G1), that water doesn't affect them, & that they are indeed submersable.
so why not just blast a hole in the ship & get out???
5). the fact that this future is over ran & well populated w/robots of all kinds only serves to up-stage the TFs.

3. - It's been stated MANY MANY times over that Optimus Prime is NOT supreme commander. He is just a field commander for a group of repair bots. That is all. He isn't part of the giant chain of command yet. He is young and more Optimus Primal than anything else.
4. - Those were Stasis Pods. Stated by Optimus as such. You know, the things from Beast Wars that protect Protoforms/TFs.
5. - Or it could used by, say, Megatron to create a massive Decepticon Army. Also, the bots in the city didn't seem to do a damned thing compared to the Autobots.
Me, I loved it. Enjoyed it immensely. Took a bit to get used to the human design here and there, but overall I really enjoyed it. Ratchet is easily my favorite character thus far - I loved his character so much and I loved his grumpy and smartass attitude. you know in the movie.

Dude, he's just Ratchet. The movie (either one) doesn't connect to this.

And for the record, Ratchet didn't die in the movie either.

Not to completely throw out your theory, but the series preview disc received by several Transformers websites stated that Sari was adopted.
He was a child, because he didn;t have his moustachio yet.
And, I liked this show, despite it obviously being aimed at kids. If you cannot appreciate this show for what it is, you need to move out of your parents' basement.
I really don't think he was a child. Just a young adult. That explains why his animation model is almost the same 50 years later, just with a streak of white hair and a moustache.
And I didn't mean to say that her adopted status throws out your theory at all. I just wanted to throw that into the conversation. I think my opening line with that statement made me sound a bit rude, but I wasn't trying to sound mean about it.

Yay! I'm not the only one.

No offense taken.

Just to point something out something interesting. Sari does not refer to herself as a human, but as a "she." She also keeps explaining the way humans do things, not "we." She also seems to be sheltered, doesn't go to school. I'd say she'll probably turn out to be a robot... which would kinda make Megatron her Mommy.

Which will lead to the inevitable
Megatron taking control of her and turning her against the Autobots! Maybe.

Yeah.
And FWIW, just because they used G1 animation in the beginning of the episode and there was mention of "the great war" doesn't mean that this show ties into G1.

Well, the fact that the allspark interacted with her.. Might be a good giveaway.
I do like the out of control nanites. It gives Megs a place to get his decepticon army from, that works out better than the "drones" of Beast Machines.
I loved BB's comment about how there was something in the sky that wasn't a decepticon.

Well if that explanation couldn't get any lamer... Maybe you just didn't listen to the conversation between Optimus and Ratchet then. Then again I wouldn't want to throw a wrench into anyones new childhood memories.
Go back watch/listen again...Prime tells Ratchet that he was there (for the Great War). The G1 history videos are directly linked. Who knows maybe it ties into Animorphs then.

The producers have said the opening animation is fanwank only...besides the timeline of a lot of story elements in this show couldn't possibly coincide with what happened in G1: For instance why would the Autobots be ignorant about humans if Ratchet and Ultra Magnus were surviving characters from G1 carried over?
So, there was a Great War, just not the same Great War as happened in G1. Total reboot. Try and keep up instead of calling people lame.
