So there's the story. The question is, is this Mel Gibson all over again, or was he really misinterpreted as he claims?
As a Jew, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Unlike Gibson he seemed sincere in his response. Furthermore, Hitler thought blacks, like Jews, were sub human, so I can't see Will Smith being an Adolf Hitler admirer. I think what we have here is a simple mis interpretation. Smith was trying to say that everyone does what they think is right, and that Hitler thought he was in the right, which is probably true.
All of that said, Smith should have known better then to say anything like that.
Anyway, just carious as to everyone else's thoughts on this, especially considering Smith's movie I Am Legend is performing very well at the box office.
