Okay, that's not the smartest move, since hasbro recently forbid producing scratchbuilts to sell them. (although selling one which uses a base figure by hasbro, like a repaint is still legal, fecking hasbro lunatics)

I want to see the lawsuit that states" man sued for making a superior product by douchebags that want all the money in the universe"
please if anyone ever got sued it was probably because they used old molds or had a machine to manufacture parts. if that would be like budweiser going after every moonshining hillbilly. waste of time. but i suppose the threat would keep some wus' from doin git

Yeah, if they did that nearly every kitbasher out there would have been sued by now.

Just out of curiosity though what are these so called "rules"?

Didn't it say something along the lines of "we have no problem with customizing/selling as long as you don't use a Hasbro-trademarked name for it" or something?
You could be like Prince was back in the day, sell it as "The Figure Formerly Known As SkyLynx".

Hasbro Provides Customizing Guidelines to Collectors
Dear Fans and Customizers, The G.I. JOE team would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the customizing community and the incredible creativity and passion that goes into each one of your projects. We are continually impressed by your work.
The customizing community ranges from those who work with product to those who customize packages and artwork. There has recently been some confusion as to what constitutes the legal resale of customized product and what constitutes trademark infringement. The following guidelines for using Hasbro trademarks should provide some clarity.
1. Hasbro encourages the customizing of individual figures for personal usage, and can be resold as one-of-a-kind, out-of-package figures.
2. All Hasbro artwork, such as card art, cannot be reprinted without permission from Hasbro. These assets contain Hasbro-owned trademarks and logos, and cannot be sold or reproduced without Hasbro’s permission
3. Hasbro owned trademarks such as character names and the GI Joe brand name cannot be used without written permission from Hasbro.
As we look to the future of the G.I. JOE franchise, we want to ensure that the customizing community can thrive while Hasbro continues to protect the brand that it has spent the last 45 years creating. Hasbro will become more aggressive in the legal pursuit of counterfeit product that is being sold in all channels. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
Thank you.
The statement is directed at GI Joe customizers but I'm sure it applies across the board to all of their brands. Selling one-off, non packaged customs are cool it seems.

Ah,i must´ve been confused with an other company then,i guess he can sell it if his transformation scheme is slightly different from the g1 toy and if he keeps spelling it Linx.

i,m making them for myself first... and if people want some well that,s where the profit comes in... but i never build them in the intention of mass-producing them reason is very simple .. the more production runs i have to make the less the new stuff comes out !! but i always try to manage my time so i can do both at the same time... that and have time for my kids, wife, work, social life .. and oh yeah SLEEP lol... balance is everything

If something is mass produced it doesnt have the appeal or worth. I would prefer a 1 of a kind over a mass produced.
I am looking into making a mass produced line of transforming robots , but in that case i couldnt use names from hasbro, or any designs. but i am making them in homage to them. luckily there is a lace close to me that sells used injection mold machines cheap. i just gotta save up.
oh and i just started my own skylynx project, nothing like yours

well the lynx is in it,s initial testing (parts) working tank tracks(x4)... and at this point it will be a armored vehicule (with weapons)/command center unit (light-up control panels) so in essence it will be a sort of triple changer... lynx, tank, command center.... and the lynx will be fully articulated and will be able to take great poses....
this project will really be something as soon as i can get it going again
