Hi guys !!

as you all know i,m doing metroplex as a primary project and powerglide as a side project... but when powerglide is done i will do sky linx ! you can see pics of how big he will be and what i can tell you is that he,ll be g1 BUT with a couple of twists... like the blue linx component will become a launching pad as well and will have tracks and allot of suprises....

you can see that this will be a big project as well but never as big as metroplex !!

Aw, where's the fun in that?

Besides, the beauty of multiple projects is that if one stalls, you can fiddle with another one for a while without losing productivity!
Megatron Prime
you seem to like to make upscaled scratcbuilds...
anemis
for thoses of you that are wondering what i,ll use as a template for sky linx... here it is !!
the only thing i need to figure out is the lower blue part that make the linx... i,m trying to figure out if i,ll make a launching pad or possibly an armored vehicule peharps....
what is the lower part supose to be anyway ???

Yuyuyami
I always thought the Linx part was supposed to be a cargo hold that the Sky part could pick up in either mode.
syp
I think the linx part of Skylinx is supposed to be a Shuttle Crawler. The thing that carries the shuttle from the hangar to the launch tower.

Remember Skylinx is a Griffon!

Dude, I first read PROJECT SKY LINX...then looked over to see the thread starter was ANEMIS.

I then said, "Oh, sh** yeah!" I mean, at that point you know it's going to be awesome. biggrintf.gif

Just a few words to the people telling him to "work on one project at a time":

I make my living off of virtual projects, and if I spend to long on any single project, my enthusiasm wanes to the breaking point. So, I usually have 3-5 projects going at any one time, and often another 1-2 on the 'back burner'. If I didn't, then I'd probably never finish any of them, having gotten burned out after too long. And if the project was as in-depth and involved as, say, his massive Metroplex, it'd probably happen sooner than later.

So let the man work on his projects at his pace, eh? It'll make seeing the end result that much more satisfying. biggrintf.gif

Will you be selling this project, Anemis?

good question.... possibly special orders could be done...

and now the cutting continues !!!

Yuyuyami
Did you make the Space Ship casing or did you buy a model?

bought a model cheaper that way...
Yuyuyami
How sturdy is the model's plastic? Most model's I've put together snapped easily so I had to spend a lot of time super gluing the broken parts back together.

Will you have to reinforce the model pieces somehow? If so... How?

oh dont worry it,s sturdy enought... it,s more then 0.125 thick and i had a really hard time cutting it it,s normal at a scale of 1:72 ... it will be reinforced anyway by different thickness of styrene sheets....
Yuyuyami
Where do you get your Styrene sheets? Whenever I looked around for them they were ungodly expensive.

well now you know why my projects are expensive to do and to buy.... shop around you might find deals....
Yuyuyami
Meh.

I knew they were expensive because of the styrene, but I was wondering if you had found a cheap (relative) supplier since you use it so much.

Oh well.

Back to shopping for me, I guess.
Megatron Prime
remember to not let sky lynx see the project, his ego would make him rip it apart for you trying to, as he would say "improve something that cannot become better". that, or he would press you to make it as perfect as possible, and 10 feet tall to "honour my perfectness"
anemis
update !!!

had some problems to solve but it,s done ! so now the work can continue a bit faster......
what you see here is the early articulated neck before i add details and finish the lower part that will connect to the body !

ULTRA MANGOS

lol that would be nice.... i would have time to complete all of my wildess transformers projects ( i have quite a few...)

well we have progress !! slow that,s because i have to have some components re-done... but the basic neck system is done... i will be adding the final layer and details soon... not an easy project but i hope that the worse is done lol.... this project is testing my patience !!!

anemis
here is the latest update !!

i,m working on the neck wich is proven to be bitchy to do lol... it,s only on the rought side for now but the finishing touches will come later...

Wheeljack-S70
anemis, that looks killer. I can't wait to see this done.

btw that last picture links to "500 - Internal Server Error"
Snapes on a Plane
Kinda creepy, in a totally good way thumbsup1.gif
Blitz
wow i can tell this will be epic when its finished
sonray
Im not a fan of the character, and i have had some reservations about your customs in the past but this....wow. Its gonna be epic.
anemis
latest update !!!

neck is installed to the main body and i,m now making the wings !!! you can see the leading edge of the wing that opens up.. and believe it or not this getting more and more complex !! (and i was thinking i would be the contrary lol) well here they are !!

tom servo
I'm really loving this! Skylinx has always been a favorite of mine. The way he's designed, he could so easily have just been a snarling monster character and the the animators decided to give him this snippy superior attitude!
You've really captured him. Great work!
anemis
well the wing system is all figured out (allot of trial and error here) and tada !!! theses wings will look great when they,re done ... remember this is only the mechanism and not the final wing apperance icon_wink.gif

anemis
update !!

wing details almost done..

sonray
How do you detail styrene like that? And what do you use as joints when working with styrene? Is it just screws or pin-like things?

Yeah, I would like to know, too! I've also made my figures with styrene, but I never couldn't ad such details or any joints!
kuro77
fantastic work!!!!!!

just a little question for anemis:

for the happines of all your fans, can you post some selected photos of your best finished works?

mp ultramagnus trailer, metroplex, megatron etc...

i like so much your work in progress, but i'd like to see in a unique post all your finished job.

in his website you can't see photos of mp 02 trailer perfect version, you can't see a photoshot of Metroplex finished in robot form, you can't see megatron mp with colour finiture.

his website is not upgraded, his post in this forum are more recent, thats the reason to ask him about photos in this forum.
Scorch Unit
This is sensational, I can't wait to see the end product!

Oh how I wish I had the time, money, patience and skill to pull something like this off.

Much respect, and a well deserved 5 star rating!
JustLOKIPLVY
Whoa!!!!

tounge1.gif tounge1.gif tounge1.gif tounge1.gif

In a word epic.

Definitely going to have to keep watching to see how this ends up.
Scorch Unit
Just wondering how this is coming along, as there have been no updates in a while. It was looking so awesome, I'd hate for it to disappear into the depths of the forgotten threads.
So, any news, or have you been focusing more on your Metroplex and Powerglide?
anemis
well actually i,m concentrating on the base of the wing that,s giving me some problems and i,m doing a production run as well so it,s not going as fast as it should... but dont worry this project will be completly done icon_wink.gif
