The New Frontier's gonna be something. More adult rated perhaps?
question is, even with Wolfman on it will it be 'the' Teen Titans or "TeEn TiTaNs Go!!!"

these will have nothing to do with established DC animated continuity/series. Just like how Ultimate Avengers had nothing to do with any of the X-Men, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Fantastic Four cartoons of the 90's and onward. They'll be in different animation styles.
Even though the Superman/Doomsday story has Timm, it still has Capizzi (The Batman, Brainiac Attacks). I hope they do Knightfall, that'd be cool to see Azrael animated.

Yesterday I guess they showed Justice League all day on Boomerang. It was cool, I had no idea that they did some really cool shows.
The best one I saw was where the J.League fought the J.Lords. The whole Doomsday getting a lobotomy courtesy of Lord Superman was great. I couldn't believe that they did that. After getting a few good hours in of the JL I kinda want to buy the series now.

I was going to post that here but seeing that they were two separate shows (JL & JLU) I thought it didn't make much sense.
Thanks for correcting/merging it.

yeah, we kinda treat this thread as a place to talk about Justice League, JLU, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman: The Animated Series, and Batman Beyond.
I highly recommend buying both season 1 & 2 of Justice League.
Fav eps of season 1:
Secret Origins (great origin story)
Enemy Below (always been a hook-handed Aquaman fan)
Injustice For All (Lex Luthor and the Joker: the new odd couple)
Brave and the Bold (Grodd makes his debut)
Legends (a send up to the old Gardner Fox JLA/JSA crossovers from Earth1 and Earth2)
A Knight of Shadows (love Arthurian myth and Etrigan is badass)
Fav eps of season 2 (which was pretty epic all around):
Twilight (Darkseid and Brainiac, nuff said)
A Better World (evil League, Doomsday, Arkham Asylum, Batman vs Batman in the Batcave and the best line of all...when Batman told Lord Batman how proud their parents would be of him)
The Terror Beyond (return of Aquaman and Dr. Fate, and a nice nod to the Defenders)
Hereafter (nod to Death of Superman, and proves that Superman is capable of taking care of himself without his powers to rely on)
Secret Society (another fun villain team-up, and the return of Grodd, Clayface, Parasite, Shade, and Sinestro)
Wild Cards (great Joker ep that felt like Batman: TAS guest starring the League)
and of course...Starcrossed (need I really say why?)
It woulda been nice if they had the Static Shock ep "A League of Their Own" as bonus eps on one of the box sets.

Hmmm. As much sense as that makes. So basically what WB wants to do is take the characters already animated in Titans and "reimagine" them. Could be cool I admit but personally I liked what was already established for the characters in the past five seasons. As for League of Superheros, WTF???? The art style IMO works but again why change what worked so well in Justice League/Unlimited. Ah well looks more promising than "The Batman"
Also the Superman/Doomsday project sonds very cool.

All very good eps and well worth owning on dvd.

Personally I only started watching midway through unlimited. Awsome chance to catch up and if you're either a fan of the styles of ether Batman (never to be confused with teh Batman) or the Superman animated serries these are a must own. Also season 3 aka the first season of Justice League Unlimited is slated for dvd release for October 24th.
Quick spoiler on the ep Wild Cards. Not sure how many watch Teen Titans but all five character voices were featured as the Royal Flush Gang and for the most part in same charater voice. Awkward to say the least.

basically these films will be stand alone projects. I doubt any of them will feed into each other, unless there's a follow-up to the Superman/Doomsday movie. I cannot wait to see the New Frontier animated film, I loved that mini. Highly recommended if you have not yet read it.
As for the Legion, as I said before, if they stuck with Timmverse animation and Supergirl by spinning off of that JLU ep, I would've watched it. They ditched that ep as a springboard, Supergirl, and the animation style. They're using Superman just to capitalize more-so on Superman Returns, just like Brainiac Attacks did.

So basically this is Justice League season 3 only since it's Unlimited now thier releasing it again as season 1. I can live with that.

I also love the fact the seasons are being ast tracked opposed to being released once every year. Samurai Jack for instantce.
Sort of off topic but also discussed in this thread. The upcoming Titans dvd project The Judas Contract. Personally I know next to nothing cept for the WB/DC takes on all of this. According to a friend who knows basically everything the whole story will involve Terra's joining up with Slade (Deathstroke the Terminator) and betrayal against the Titans and whatnot. Teen Titans did already what feels like a pretty close adaptation of this arc nearing the end of season 2 in the two parter "Aftershocks". (due out in September, can't wait) Learning this I now see how it would make sense for DC to again reinvent the characters/settings and such. Seeing this redone in a more mature look and tone will absolutely rock. I'm hyped. If this works out well I'd also love to see a followup based on the "Terror of Trigon" of Trigon arc. I'm assuming that was the Raven ark "The End" Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The Judas Contract adaption will be animated differently and be a more "true" adaption than the Teen Titans episode.
And JLU was a completely different series. The producers did refer to JLU season one as JL season 3, but acknowledge that it was a completely different animal. So you can call em JLU1/JL3, JLU2/JL4, and JLU3/JL5. But as I said, this will contain the first two seasons of JLU, the entirety of the Project Cadmus arc.

well, it's assumed that these movies will not be the same continuity. No word has been said one way or another on the matter. And yeah, I'm still pissed about the cancellation, but it was bound to happen the way CN never promoted the show and WB animation kept placing restrictions on what characters they use. No Batman villains (cuz of Batman Begins and The Batman) and no Aquaman (cuz of his upcoming show), and yet they can still use Superman characters in spite of the existence of Smallville. Timm didn't like being told he couldn't use Batman characters, since he was the one who breathed new life into those characters and was where he got his start.

Just spent all week watching the JLU box set and while I love the show this box set sucks. I knew of the lack of extra's which sucked enofe for me, but damn they don't even have the eps. in order

. The ep were Super Man and Huntress break the Question out and are confonted by Captian Atom only to be continued isn't fallowed by the next ep. but one that should have been shown earler. That sucks. I love the timm cartoons and have loved the box sets but showing the ep. out of order (were they end in to be continued no less), shows have much the WB is just pushing these out. Can't wait for the last season here's hoping they don't mess it up.

I'm not gonna hold it against them for getting one ep out of order, but I will fault them for doing commentary on only 2 eps. Epilogue was so deserving of commentary. But this series of eps were so friggin' good, every ep is worth watching and all feed into each other to some extent.

Paul Dini said that originally it was supposed to be Selina Kyle that "clones" Terry, and that he was supposed to be a full-on clone of Bruce Wayne as opposed to the halfway-one he is. I think he said it was supposed to be someone other than the Phantasm making an appearnace as the assassin, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
Big Grim
Dec 12 2006, 03:29 PM
there was basically supposed to be a second Batman Beyond movie involving Selina Kyle, but it never happened. And the assassin would've been another clone she raised as her own. It was basically Batman Beyond: Maximum Cloneage. Well, not really. Most of what it would have been went into Epilogue instead. Just click the link for more info.

Right now with JL/JLU wrapped up I am finally checking out Batman Forever. Thus far only have seasons one/three but surprisingly a pretty good show. Never cared for it back then because of being a BMTAS fanboy only & this too me was not Batman. That said I really like how the show is in the same continuity of TAS & has the same visual style only pumped up several notches. I'm definitely going to try to find season 2 eventually.
JUL for me ended on a resounding sour note. The first season though IMO not as good a the first two seasons of Justice League were for the most part intelligible. The last season was painfully funny. Teen Titans on a whole had better writing & more intensity. This was just mediocre. It started out strong but ended terribly. JMO. Probably due to the fact the show had been canceled & it needed to be wrapped up one way or another.
Big Grim
Jul 17 2007, 07:46 AM
the show wasn't cancelled, the episodes were already completed by the time they new they would not be renewed. Since Batman Beyond was cancelled, they decided to actually present "finales" that could be used to close out the series if that indeed was the end. Starcrossed was supposed to be the end, then they got renewed. Epilogue was supposed to be the end, then they got renewed. Alive/Destroyer was supposed to be the end, and it was. First season of JLU was better than JL because you could never do the Cadmus arc in the JL 2-part epic format. Each 2-parter was mostly self-contained, whereas each ep of JLU built upon one another and referred back to previous JL eps in the process. And we got to see 50+ heroes and villains that we never woulda seen elsewhere. Anyway, for me, it didn't get any better than JLU.
