Man so Grim there talking about a JL box set man I hope that hapens. Also how in the world do you get all this info. Well on that topic any news on a Batman Beyond box set, The New Adventurs of Batman, or any more Superman box sets.
*

Well this is comic related, and you know how much of that stuff I hear about ahead of time. Given they did Batman: The Animated Series, Superman, Superfriends (and now that there's talk of Justice League), I wouldn't be surprised if we got The New Adventures of Batman (or Batman: Gotham Knights) and Batman Beyond. Here's hoping, I already have all 3 box set of Batman: The Animated Series.

I like how they tied Tim Drake/Joker's origins to Cadmus, and that Terry was a part of "Project Batman Beyond." Oh, and did you catch how the ep ends the same way the first ep of Batman:TAS began. Terry flying through Gotham past a police carrier just like Man-Bat did in the first ep way back when.
Heat Guy
Loved the Finale, since the whole Terry/Bruce deal, hatted that there was no League Closure...
Starscreamer
in some ways it's closure for the whole WB animating the DCU...after all it started with Batman...why not end with Batman?
Big Grim
you do realize there will be another season, right?

JLU season 3 (technically the 5th season overall) will debut in Sept

Well, the last JSU episode I saw involved them talking about dismantling the JL satelite, and opening an "embassy" on earth at the end of the episode. (I'm probably behind everyone else on this, since I really don't get to see JSU a lot.)

BTW, Nice to see ya back Big Grim!!! Missed ya around here! smiletf.gif

I didn't even catch that but your right (I also have the box sets I love these cartoons) thats so freggin cool. Man I wish Batman Beyond was still around.

season 5 information. Sounds really cool, we get to see the Legion of Doom and even Carter Hall. I wonder if he'll be the new Hawkman.

Legion of DOOM!!!  The legoin was cool in the Challenge of the Superfriends so I am interested in seeing how this is going to play out.
I love good news.

I thought Superfriends was lame, but if you love the Legion of Doom, you really should check out this new 12-issue maxiseries called Justice. It's done by Alex Ross, so you know it's good.

Yeah, I understand why some think Superfriends is lame.  I have season 1 on dvd
and I was laughing out loud during most of it.  I find it funny.  On the other
hand, Justice looks pretty interesting.  Thanks 4 the link thumbsup1.gif

it always goes on hiatus before the new eps come out. Sept 17 is when season 5 begins. They'll air the first 4 eps in September, and then go on hiatus until January. They did that with season 3 and 4 as well. Season 3 took a bit of a break before they aired the last 5 eps of teh season and aired the first 3 eps of season 4, went on break, and then aired the rest. It's a common trend.

Sorry, I meant the last episode wasn'y all that good to me. I mean we have all this character development with characters like Superman and Green Arrow but then we're thrown this mushy crap with Terry MacGuiness?

why not, Batman Beyond was and still is incredibly popular among long time fans of Batman: The Animated Series, Superman, and the New Adventures of Batman. Most of what took place in those cartoons (especially Superman) was carried over into JLU, so why not the same for Batman Beyond. It ended without any closure, not so much as a finale (unlike Superman with "Legacy"). If Batman and Superman continuity lives on in JLU, then why not Batman Beyond? Long time fans loved seeing Batman (Terry), Bruce, and Warbird in the "Once and Future Thing." That did so well in ratings, they decided to revisit that continuity with "Epilogue." And again, longtime Batman: TAS fans loved that ep. So many references (Return of the Joker, Mask of the Phantasm, even On Leather Wings). I thought it was kinda cool that Terry is connected to Cadmus and Waller. I'm not saying you have to like it, I'm just telling you that there are a lotta reasons why longtime Timmverse fans (as in Bruce Timm) loved this ep. I for one, hope we see more of adult Terry  thumbsup1.gif
Khan
I really liked the Batman Beyond episode, just because I really liked Batman Beyond and was upset when it ended, but this whole Cadmus / What Does It Mean To Be A Super Hero With Big Guns thing doesn't really do it for me.  I guess I kind of felt like when I had those kind of story cravings, I'd read Powers or Planetary or The Authority and stuff.  I was hoping for more just random saving the earth from Justice League, kind of like when I read Amazing Spider-Man, I'm not looking for huge drama with soul-edifying meaning or anything, I just want to see Spider-Man swing around and duke it out with some cartoonishly overpowered badguys while spouting funny dialogue.  I just found the whole "We luv you guys!" conclusion to the recent season just kind of corny.  My wife kept laughing from the other room at some of the dialogue.

Probably not a common opinion, since I can imagine that saving the earth over and over again would get dull too.  It just didn't feel right to me somehow.  Too much of a Hollywood ending, I guess, which goes directly against what I was saying above...  Hmm.
MageLite
They should have ended it with th edestruction of Cadamus. Yes, I get that saving the world time after time can get repetitive, but  I found the last episode sort of anti-climatic.
Big Grim
the whole Cadmus story was very reminiscent of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.

I just saw that ep where supergirl get's cloned and I wonder how many parent's were horrified when the scope's view is filled by Supergirl's chest?  optimuslaugh2.gif Or when Green arrow talked about his own dreams?

well this show is geared more towards older fans, why else have guys like Vibe and Steel or Hawk and Dove. And it is on in the late evening. Batman: TAS was much darker and grittier. Before Batman Begins came out, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was the best Batman movie. Watch it if you haven't seen it, it's still available on DVD  thumbsup1.gif

they're more concerned about pleasing longtime Justice League fans than they are about pleasing over-protective parents.
MageLite
True, but my point is the over-protective parents probably acted as though the world was about to end.
And let's not think how bad they were when the SG and her clone's costumes start to get ripped  grimlocklaugh.gif

Likewise. I was wondering when they were going to introduce Carter Hall! (or Katar, if you're Thanagarian!)

As for the Legion of Doom, interesting idea with Grod leading the pack and Luthor waiting in the wings to take him out. Kinda like Starscream and Megatron, only Grod and Luthor are both smarter, and they don't make the same dumb mistakesas the other two! (I like how Luthor has that "I don't care if you know that I hate your guts" attitude towards Grod.)

it's on saturday nights at 10 pm (e/p). So 9 pm if you're in teh midwest like me.  I don't know when they're gonna do repeats again, since they haven't posted anything beyond this coming saturday online.

I was blown away this weekend when I went to look on the DVR and found two new JLU episodes waiting for me.  I had heard rumors circulating that the show had been canceled, but thankfully it was not.

These first two episodes were really great, the origin of Hawkman, and now the introduction of the Legion of Doom.  I cant express in words how happy this makes me, JLU is one of the best cartoons on CN right now and am happy to see that they kept it around for another season.

Oh and the Hall of Justice, looks badass.

yeah, there were a lot of rumors like that but I knew they were wrong. I know guys who have connections to the shows creators, I knew the show was coming back.  Too many people assumed that they way it ended (with Superman reconstructing the league, and a Batman Beyond finale) that the show was ending.  But it's not, so breathe easy.  Really looking forward to this season, just take a look at what they have in store.  And I can't wait to see more of the Legion of Doom.

Grim. I was kidding about the repeats. CN has/had a habit of showing a few episodes than a couple of months of repeats.  I hope they are not doing that anymore.

Both of these episodes were ok, I didnt really get into the one about the Viking ship, it seemed almost thrown together as if it was there just to set up Martian Manhunters decision to leave the JL.

The episode prior to that with Supergirl, and Stargirl, was excellent, not at first it seemed a little slow, but the play between Supergirl and Stargirl was the best.  Especially the ending with the two of them flying off comparing their lives.  CLASSIC.
