Longshadow? never heard of him.
besides I don't think they would kill off any of the original founders I think killing off one of JLU's members will spark something in superman which will lead to the war on cadmus and batman having more doubts about superman.

he's one of teh Ultimen, the Apache Chief knock-off. He's the indian who can increase his size. Cadmus created the Ultimen, they were grown in test tubes. Longshadow defected to the League, but he's dying due to the fact that his genetic makeup will break down.

OOOooh yeah I remember him heh I forgot I seen half of that episode but yeah it could be him who's going to die.
I wonder if we will see the Ultimen again with new members (apart from the others that defected to become villians) I never seen the end of that episode what really happen? I know both teams fought each other what happen after that?

the "Wonder Twins" were called Downpour and Shifter. Black Vulcan was Juice, and Samurai was Wind Dragon.

Tantrum
Mar 14 2005, 04:36 PM
The death of the Flash did cause the Justice Lords, but I think that now that Batman has seen what can happen, he won't let that happen. I know that Starcrossed was a Tower of Babel type story, but if Superman declares war on Cadmus, Batman might betray the league.

I saw it. It was really good.
Clock King, Deadshot, Plastique, and Captain Boomerang, plus an army guy working for Cadmus infiltrated the Watchtower and stole the annihilator that Hephestus built. Plastique got left behind and Manhunter was able to work out who the inside guy was. I don't know much about DC comic continuity, but I read somewhere that this was basically a take on the Suicide Squad.
Big Grim
May 24 2005, 07:21 AM
The Suicide Squad was originally a special ops squad of soldiers in World War II (first appearance Brave & The Bold #25, 9/1959 - created by Robert Kanigher & Ross Andru). They had high casualties, considered expendable, and often fought among themselves. During the Korean War they were put under the command of Rick Flag Sr. and they fought against a wide of range of super-powered threats - their services required due to the relative lack of superheroes in the 50s.
Flag Sr. was killed in a mission and his son Rick was orphaned. Years later, Amanda Waller, working for the Reagan government, read about the original Squad and put together a new group (Suicide Squad Vol. 1 #1 - 5/87 - created by John Ostrander and Luke McConnell). Rick Flag Jr. led the team, which consisted of a combination of "damaged" superheroes (typically with psychological problems) and villains who were offered a pardon in return for their services. Stationed out of Belle Reve Penitentery in Louisiana, the Squad went on a number of missions until Waller abused her position and used the Squad on a personal mission. As a result, she was tried and sentenced, but after a year got a pardon of her own and reformed the Squad as a "million dollars a mission" private mercenary squad. That group eventually disbanded as well.
Under President Lex Luthor, the Squad was reformed once more (Suicide Squad Vol. 2 #1 - 11/2001 - created by Keith Giffen and Paco Medina) under the command of World War II legend, the inexplicably unaging General Rock. This incarnation lasted only a few issues before most of its members were killed by Squad enemies seeking revenge.
Since then, as of the time the episode aired, the Luthor government has put together several groups of villains as disposable cannon fodder and called them the "Suicide Squad," but no formal organization seems to exist. This is the group's first appearance in the WB animated universe. The discerning reader might wish to purchase the Belle Reve Sourcebook, co-written by some Steve Crow guy who seems to know what he's talking about.

JLU is by far one of my favorite TV shows, good enough for adults and still remain a kids show. Lex taking over the Watchtowers big gun makes you wonder why they have it in the first place. The Watchtower invasion was a very welldone scene. The ending was great too.

From what I remember.
Brainiac is the remenant of the super computer that ran supermans planet. Superman found it and brought it to earth to run his fortress of solitude. Brainiac was damaged from the destruction of krypton, and began digitizing and controlling everything.
Last I knew, Brainiac was trapped back in the tower since the lasttime I saw him was when he was on static shock. So I've got no idea how he ended up in luthor, but my guess would be he got into luthors kryptonite cancer vest and digitized his insides somewhat so he was cured, and a suitable host for his endeavors. Puppeting luthor from the sidelines for a while.

wrong, here's the deal. Brainiac did run Krypton, but hid the impending doom by claim Jor-El was mistaken so he could save himself. He escaped into space and basically ran around collecting data from every civilization and then assimilating them into his being. He then came to earth, acting benevolent towards Superman and the earth. But Superman learned the truth and took him down. But while Brainiac was connected to Lexcorp, he uploaded a back up program in Lex's mainframe. He held Lex prisoner within Lexcorp, forcing him to build him a new body. That was when he blasted Lex with a buncha nanites, just in case.
Brainiac was taken down again and again, but always came back cuz part of him got away. He first showed up in JL continuity in the Static Shock/Justice League team-up, then in the 2nd season premiere with Darkseid.
The computer in Supes fortress is a program similar to the original Brainiac, but not the same thing. He made it using that orb that had all of Krypton's data that he reclaimed from Brainiac during their first encounter.
Moving on, what do you guys think of the big reveal with Terry being Bruce's son/clone. I like the nods to Batman Beyond, since we never got any closure with that. The Batman and Superman animated series live on in Justice League, why shouldn't Batman Beyond. I hope we get to see more of adult Terry and his JLU.
And this is the 2nd time we've heard reference to "The Near Apocalypse of '09," when do we get to see it. It was first referenced in the Batman Beyond ep with Ra's al Ghul. Apparently Batman saved the day from Ra's, but I wouldn't be surprised if the League were involved. Would make a good JLU movie, just like Starcrossed.

since WB had so much success with the Batman: The Animated Series and Superman DVD box sets that there's talk of actual season box sets of Justice League. I already have season 3 burned onto DVD, and season 4 is on the way. But I'd pay for actual box sets. I'm not paying for the current JLU DVDs that only have 3 on each disc release. They've only done one, and the second is on the way.

I loved Batman Beyond and say so excited when the ep started with 60 years from now and was so hoping that Terry was gonna be in it. Man I didn't see that one coming (not only him being in it but that he's a son of Bruce in a very complicated way). O I love the line "We got his DNA. It was easy enof he left it all over town..... Not remotly what I meant"

. O man I was also excited to see the return of the Phantasim (even a short one I loved that movie). Man so Grim there talking about a JL box set man I hope that hapens. Also how in the world do you get all this info. Well on that topic any news on a Batman Beyond box set, The New Adventurs of Batman, or any more Superman box sets.
