If you say so...
2 hours long
The greatest story never told was the first episode of JLU that my girlfriend enjoyed watching. She kept waiting for Booster Gold to save someone so she could hear them say "Thanks Green Lantern".

Hilarious episode. Though I have never heard of Booster Gold (having been a marvel Junkie back when I collected comics), was he created in the 70's or something. I only ask because of his gaudy costume and rather lame name. But he is one funny character.

And why does the DC universe really need to stretchy guys?

And why does the DC universe really need to stretchy guys?

why not, they have more than one Flash (Jay Garrick, Wally West, and Bart Allen), Green Lantern (John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Alan Scott even though he's not a GL anymore), Green Arrow (Oliver Queen and Connor Hawk). Plus there's Superman and Superboy, and Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl. As for Booster Gold, he's been around for a good long time, probably since the 70's. I'll have to check my resources back home. I don't know if he's from the future in the comics though. Oh, and Atom does not have the power to alter DNA rolleyestf.gif
X-Bob58
he could shrinik to the size of an atom and screw with the DNA molicules.
Khan
Why not have him grab some Kryptonite, shrink himself, then dump it in Superman's ear? Seems easier than altering DNA.

Just being difficult. smiletf.gif

Was that Fry as the voice of the floating gold brown-noser?
Big Grim
yep, and the voice of Booster Gold was the main character from MTV's Undergrads. But I forget what his name was?
Lostprophet8
Which show was Undergrads? All I remember is 3 south. Best show ever. I laffed all through every episode. I don't see how it got canceled. Clone High was really funny too, but still didn't last more than half a season.
Khan
Clone High was awesome. Loved the episode where Buddha became a rap star.
Lostprophet8
Extreme blue was my favorite. Ghandi was drinking the new sport drink "extreme blue" that consisted of sawdust and blue lead-based paint chips. Joan of Arc was picking up a religious station on her braces and thought it was the voice of God. Either Marylin Manson or Jack Black guest stared and sang a song.

Undergrads was a late night Cartoon on MTV that consisted of College Freshman and the crap they go through.

All I rememeber is some guy named their friend Kal who always went around saying "ok guy".

Ok well you answered my question about Booster Gold.

But I know that DC has many lanterns and Arrows and such, but I thought they were all different generations, no two were existing at the same time. But considering that the Lantern Corps have multiple members then that would make sense for more then one to be around at a time.

that was the case, but not anymore. Jay Garrick, Wally West, Bart Allen and Jesse Quick are all active speedsters. Ollie and his son Connor both are active as Green Arrow. And both John Stewart and Kyle Rayner are currently serving as Green Lantern.

Another great episode. Lots of action, plus we got to see where Hawkgirl has been hanging out.

Yeah I'll 2nd that thought, I really like this cartoon a lot and even though I wish it would be 1 hour like the old show it's still an awesome cartoon....almost as good as the old X-men cartoon that came on Fox way back when. thumbsup1.gif
Big Grim
dude, I can't believe they had Kyle in it too!

did jesse get her powers back, last i heard she lost them after the events in Flash 200
Big Grim
now that you mention it, I haven't seen her in a while. Guess she's gone. Anyway, it makes sense for Hawkgirl to be crashing with Fate and Inza since they all became friends. In a few weeks, Hawkgirl returns to the league cuz Grundy comes back to life. And since they got pretty close, they'll need her help to stop him. I hope they do Grundy right, he's supposed to have different personalities everytime he comes back to life.
Tantrum
Quick question for you DC guys out there. I knew who all the heroes were except for the two robotic looking ones. The larger robot was on the front line with Superman, and the other was on the second line with Supergirl. Not the Red Tornado, but the one with the missiles and gattling gun, who are they?
Big Grim
the one who fought in space was S.T.R.I.P.E. and the other who was in the air was Rocket Red. In the comic, S.T.R.I.P.E. is from the Justice Society of America, a precursor to the Justice League that was active in WWII. He was the partner of the Star Spangled Kid. Now his step-daughter holds that mantle and simply goes by Star. He aids her now in that battle suit. You saw both of them in the very first ep of JLU, and also in the ep with Booster Gold. Rocket Red is Russian, as well as the tech that his suit is made of. He was a part of the Justice League of Europe, back when the Justice League International existed. JLI was made up of the JLA and JLE. Anyway, they're both just guys in suits of armor.

On another note, we've seen both Supergirl and Steel (unfortunately he was voiced by Phil Lamar instead of Michael Dorn). So when are we gonna see Nightwing and Batgirl. Especially now that Huntress is on the League. I wanna see Batman working with Huntress, and how Nightwing and Batgirl would react to her.
X-Bob58
is this Bats+Cats huntress or the mafia princess one?
Tantrum
Nice, thanks Grim.

what do you think? It's the mafia one, even though they haven't talked about it. But considering Batman and Catwoman don't have a child, seriously what do you think? rolleyestf.gif
Blaster
Damn YTV isn't carrying the show in Canada so I haven't watched any of the new eps icon_sad.gif
Big Grim
new eps in December. Dammit, I can't wait that long. It features the Ultimen, a group of "heroes" based on Apache Chief, Samurai, Black Vulcan, and the Wonder Twins. The main Leaguers will be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, with Bizarro and Giganta making an appearance. Think they got enough Super Friends references bumblebeetounge.gif
Starscreamer
the booster gold ep was cool....was neat seeing Aztek. Nice to know he isn't forgotton.

The Ultimen episode is pretty good and looks like it will lead to a subplot that may unfold over several future episodes.

only if the Ultimen are still around at the end of the ep.
roninbrian
Actually, the subplot does not matter if they are around or not. Now that I think of it, the subplot actually started a few episodes ago.

Spoiler for the Ultimen episode:

Remember the clone of Supergirl that Star Labs made. Some super-secret agency is making other (original) clones. The Ultimen are unstable clones with a super-short lifespan. Whoever the woman is that is in charge of the project knows that Batman is Bruce Wayne. She hints to that when she warns him off investigating the project.
Big Grim
it's pretty obvious Luthor is involved, he was the shadowy figure at the end of the Supergirl ep. How do you know what's gonna happen in this ep, have you seen it already?
roninbrian
Yeah. I saw it 2 days ago. I won't say how...

I hate you, dude. Kidding of course, and I know what you mean. I'm privy to certain comic-related knowledge that I can't disclose either. I'm gonna have a hard time waiting til December for new eps to come out. Have you seen any of the other new eps?
roninbrian
No, just that one. The end of it had clips from episodes for the rest of the season during the credits.
Big Grim
yeah, they've been doing that lately. I think it's a good idea, gives you a taste of things to come.
Big Grim
did anybody see last Saturday's ep, it was the new one with the Ultimen. Cartoon Network's not very good at promoting new eps, so I had no idea and I missed it. Curses huffermad.gif

I didn't even know it was still on
Khan
Actually, I saw it - I didn't know who the Ultimen were, but I enjoyed the episode. There was a particular line where I thought Batman reacted way out of character, but I guess they wanted to point out just how surprised he was.

I wish they did another episode with Kyle Rayner I mean he only had 2 episodes ever the first was on The Adventures of Superman, the on JLU with the return of some android but I think he would of been a better character then John Stewart. plus better ring use rather then huge hands & baseball bat looking things
Big Grim
actually, Kyle made gum, a wrench, and other similar items in his Superman appearance. They picked John cuz the League needs a token black guy, but I actually like the character better than Kyle. He's had great character development throughout the series.

I like how the Ultimen were versions of Apache Chief, Samurai, Black Vulcan, and the Wonder Twins optimuslaugh2.gif

When does this come on on CN? I saw a preview once, looked awesome.
X-Bob58
I saw the new epp. IT fetured the Atom!!!! hes my fav! He can take on sups!
Snowman81
Was an ok episode, but man does this cartoon really miss the old 1 hour format.
Big Grim
I know, I don't know why they limited it to 30 minutes. Especially since they expanded the cast in a big way. But I did love this ep, all the ones that feature as many leaguers as possible are great. Return of Grundy and Hawkgirl this weekend.
Lostprophet8
I didn't even know they were showing new episodes. Good for me (and everyone else that cares). I wish they would show the "Starcrossed" movie. I know what happens, I would just like to see it. rodimusgrinstatic.gif
Big Grim
just get the DVD. This week's ep was awesome. It had Superman, Green Lantern, Vixen, Aquaman, Dr. Fate, Amazo, and Hawkgirl. And the return of Grundy, sorta. Really good story, and Hawkgirl's back too. Next week starts the 2-part season finale. Looks like Green Arrow, Black Canary, and other members of the JSA are in it too.
AutobotMaximal
My wife collects the JL figures and we just found our first set of JLU figures yesterday. I've only caught one episode since the change to "Unlimited", but I hope I can catch more soon. Of course, I'll have to abandon my boycott of CN to do so. tounge1.gif
Big Grim
finally got to watch the Ultimen episode today. Hope we get to see more of Long Shadow. I also liked the inclusion of Maxwell Lord, Amanda Waller, Prof. Hamilton, and Cadmus. I've always hated Waller, so they portrayed her well. Kinda creepy how she hinted that she knew who Batman was. I'm sure she's connected to Luthor somehow, since she worked for him in the comic continuity.
Big Grim
