First ep was on tonight, and it was awesome. They league has restructured in a big way. I now realize how big a comic geek I truly am because I could name every hero that was assembled at the Watchtower, and there were a lot. Just about every major character from DC is in it. Even members of the Justice Society like Sand, Mr. Terrific, and Atom Smasher. Also had guys from Grant Morrison's run on the comic like Steel, Aztek, and Huntress. Even Hawk and Dove made an appearance. Green Lantern, Captain Atom, Supergirl, and one of my fav characters Green Arrow were the stars tonight. Each ep will focus on a different group. Can't wait to see which other heroes show up.

my only gripe is that they're not doing 2-part arcs or making it an hour long anymore.

They wanted to keep it short to make room for other shows I think. More money. I agree though, I couldn't name the heros very well but I did like it. Especially Green Arrow.

it is good that they are gonna give other characters the spotlight and not just the previous main characters, hopefully this series lasts as long as the other one has,
Big Grim
Aug 2 2004, 09:17 AM
hopefully it'll last longer. I can't wait for JL season 2 DVDs to come out. And I wanna see guys like Nightwing and Steel in JLU. You catch a glimpse of Steel, along with Huntress. It'd be interesting to see Nightwing and Huntress work together, given their past working relationship in the comic. And I thought it was great how Ollie decided to join the league once he saw Black Canary. Hopefully we'll see more developments with that.

The next DVD comes out in October and will feature the episodes: "The Brave and The Bold" and "Injustice for All". Cartoon Network is rerunning the JLU premiere episode Saturday morning at around 11 or 11:30.
Truly loved the episode myself, but felt that the first one should have at least been an hour long.
Do any of you collect the Justice League toys too? I am having one heck of a time locating the Ultra Humanite...
It was also kinda cool that the robot beared a striking resemblence to Brimstone...Hmmmmmmm...

Holy Flirking Shnit!!! I just read up on future eps of JLU. Check these out:
Episode 7: The Return
Nearly two-dozen heroes join forces to prevent an all-powerful android from reaching his goal: the recently reformed Lex Luthor.
Episode 11: Wake the Dead
when Solomon Grundy rises from the grave, an old friend must come out of hiding and team up with the League once more.
Episode 12: The Once and Future Thing, Part 1
Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern chase a time-travelling villain to the past, where they team up with the greatest heroes of the Old West.
Episode 13: The Once and Future Thing, Part 2
Finally, this is the ep I've been waiting for! The Justice League's adventures in time take them to a futuristic Gotham City, where they join forces with that era's Batman and his super team: The Justice League Unlimited.
WOOOOOOOO, we get to see the return of Amazo, Grundy, and maybe even Hawkgirl, give her connection to Grundy. But I am so psyched to finally see Terry McGinnis again. Anyone see the ep of Static Shock where Static got sucked into the future and had to team up with Terry to save his future self? It was pretty cool. I wonder what'll happen when Batman meets Terry, or if he'll even meet his future self?

Aug 4 2004, 01:00 PM
that pic was just for promotional use, back when we didn't even know Hawkgirl was gonna leave the team. So it would've been a giveaway if she wasn't in it. Seeing Static in JLU would be cool, but I have no idea if they'll do it. He wasn't mentioned for any of this season's eps.

I really liked the first episode of JLU. And I really loved Batman Beyond, although I didn't see that episode of Static Shock. I liked the old man Bruce Wayne.
I liked the two part episodes when they played them back to back.

yeah, I first saw that pic you posted in an issue of Toyfare about a month or so before Star Crossed was aired. And it's the same pic they used to promote Justice League a few years back when it was about to start airing on Cartoon Network. They just added more heroes to it.

well, the ep based on Alan Moore's story was on last night. Pretty good, it gave us a good look into what Clark desires above all else. And it was no surprise either. I also liked the part that showed Bruce and his parents, it reinforces that his origins are centered on tragedy. Very good ep, can't wait til the next one

So I was wondering: Was Superman's wife really Lois, or just a Lois-like wife? Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to hear him call her by name. I know it was the same voice actress as Lois, but I can't imagine Lois being happy on a farm, and her hair looked different.
What with the screaming and all, I was also wondering about the bad guy's deepest desire: whether he was hurting or he was hurting others.
Tantrum
Aug 9 2004, 01:26 PM
She was definately a Lois-like character. I think she had a Kryptonian name, but I didn't catch it. Another good episode, and I can't wait for more.

Aug 9 2004, 07:01 PM
She was a Lana/Lois combination: Lana's hair and Lois' voice. Those two were the great loves of Clark's life. Mongul's fantasy probably had something to do with slaughtering the masses, in the comics he was compared to Hitler.

Big Grim
Aug 10 2004, 08:29 AM
Mongul would get his ass kicked. In fact, he did. Sorta. Mongul's son, who's also named Mongul, duked it out with Doomsday off-panel in the "Our Worlds at War" Superman crossover a few years back.
