Actually Youtube is just fine for that. Don't really like torrents/illegal downloads.
Ebay is an absolute Starscream trying to figure out what's what so I think it best to stick with retail.
Unfortunately I made a purchase before all the facts were in. I think I got royally duped by something being dubbed The Perfect collection regarding YUA. 52 eps on 6 disks and all region. Damn it. Well at least it doesn't have chinese subtitles. That would have been a dead give away. The no region thing threw me off a bit as well bcause aparently some legit companies actually release region free movies anime. I learned this after researching my secondhand copy of Project Ako Love and Robots. I was almost convinced I had bought a bootleg but apparently not. Another thing that threw me was cost. Similar sets were being sold BIN for $30 while this was $60, $72 with shipping. Feedback was also very high which is something I normally pay very close attention to. I also came across the set on various anime sites as well as I believe Yahoo. Very tempted to retract my BIN but that would totally phuck up my flawless rating.
I know there are legit Perfect collections on market (checked out Bestbuy.ca) but I really have no idea who's marketing these sets and from where. Anybody have infor/experience in this field? Would be greatly appreciated.
As for FMA. Found both sets tonight at Walmart for just over $40 a piece. Average price reguarding most dvds sets.
Oh an interesting thing about bootlegs and why I think there as dangerous as they are. The myth is these companies pack a 26 episode run into three disks. As a result picture and sound aparently suffer a great deal because of it. I don't buy it. Most dvd sets I've seen on the market pack well over 4 eps a disk and still maintain decent quality/sound. Walt Disney is notourious for this because they often pack in a record nine 20 minute cartoons a disk in a three disk release which is absolutely insane. Also when you consider most tv dvds for the most part pack in four forty minute eps into one disk, the equalivent of eight twenty minute cartoons I guess the myth of worse quality is kind of busted. Of course it all depends on the quality of the source disk/material.
In the end I'm not to bothered by the quality of the set I'm just pissed off it's probably not legit.
Here's a link to the auction.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...cTODAY.m238.lVIMost of the anime collections in store look to obviously be bootlegged. Wish I looked into it more beforehand.
Guess ya get what you pay for right.
Goes back to watching FMA.
