HOLY CRAP!!!!!! Best first Macross episode in a LOOOOONG time. I am VERY stoked about this series and I hope it turns out to get even better.

They aired the first episode plus a little extra. It doesn't officially come out until April.

i know it didn't take me long to find the 1st episode then find out why their were not anymore

A little extra? I wonder what that was.

Anyhow, I wonder if the quality will stay on this level in the next episode(s), or if it was just cause this was aired during the 25th Anni. Promotion.

Is it me, or in the opening there's something that looks like SDF-2 Megaroad? Could this be a continuation of the original Macross?

It was Megaroad 01 (just like in Macross Flashback 2012) and yes it's canon.

Time to bring this thread back to life as Macross Frontier episodes 1 and 2 have come out!!! It's a great time to be a Macross AND Transformer fan as we're getting great remakes of classic series, both of which are harking back to the originals. This series kicks so much ass!!!!!

There's Gattai, AiA and Shinsen, quality in that order I think. They have been subbing the lyrics recently, yes.

Well..got another question. When I tried watching Episode 4 earlier, the audio/video was out of sync. Any recommending codec settings? (I have the MKV codec, but very rarely can get it to work on my system properly.)

eps 7 and 8 are out and the battles are pretty nice. also the ending song is pretty good imo.


still not sold on the storyline since so much of it is pretty much rehash from the original series but lets hope more interesting twists develop. this series has potential.

Watched Ep. 10. What a fun lil' tie-in to Macross Zero.

About 13 to 14 minutes in, did the animation quality take a bit of a hit? I'm not sure, since the action still looked cool.

So...any one seen Ep. 12 yet? I can't wait for Episode 13, after the ending of it. Gave me chills.

yep I'm waiting on the sub it should of come on Thursday but i guess their running a tad late on it

I would go after some more of the latest eps myself but what with my ISP cracking down on things, I'm leaving it for a while.. Will try and find a streaming site to watch them instead!!

Anyway, I do rather like this latest Macross series - where can I get one of those huge SDFs?

What did everyone think of Episode 15?
I think it was the best clip show ever done! All the singing parts really helped make it feel less like a standard clip-show...and the sing off/duet was great.

well its was only half a clip show really and thats a good thing and it did the clips in a good way that added to the plot and was not just a recap and I liked the singing between Ranka and Sheryl

It was good. 16 is better though. ^_^ I have no complaints about this series what-so-ever.

I just changed subbers and have just seen ep 7. Awesome!

I changed subbers on Macross F, as well. I started off with one group, then went along with Shinsen. They took the longest of the groups to get the episode out(at the time), so I switched over to Lunar, who gets their eps out a bit more quickly. GG seems to be the quickest at getting the episodes, but their encodes refuse to work on my computer. (Audio plays normally, while the video is super-jerky.)

I'm basically just watching whoever comes out first. But Shinsen is the best IMO.

Just finished watching Ep. 17. They had great usage of Fire Bomber's music for Ozma's scenes. The episode was slightly predictable, in regards to how Ozma was portrayed, but still enjoyable. The ending surprised me. Though, with all the similarities to Roy Fokker, I don't see why they didn't make this Episode 18, instead. (I had to look up the episode guide, to see which episode Roy died in. I'm figuring from the "pineapple salad" title it was that one, since that's one of those hard to forget scenes.) I love what Michel's comment about it was, too.

The only thing about the usage of Fire Bomber is, it makes me want to watch Macross 7. I still haven't had a chance to get into that yet.

Finally, MACROSS HAS RETURNED; now I don't feel so all alone.

Seriously, it's about time they came out with a new series! And this one looks VERY promising!!!

man episode 24 epic I wont spoil its ending

You weren't kiddin, Blitz. Just finished watching episode 24. Man. I won't spoil either, but all I can sum of the ending in one word is...shock.

Yea. I'm still shocked, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a lead on, either.

There's a couple of factors that I'm hoping points at survival. The Giant Sharon Apple-ish Ranka is a main point. Alto's fighter exploded roughly in the palm of her hand. That might factor a 'rescue' of sorts by Ranka. The other is the fact that they have those pilot/escape suits. It'd be easy see the fighter destroyed, than a person escaping due to the size. I loved how they used "Do You Remember Love?" to overlap Sheryl's song. Minmei is being used against the humans! The arrangement is different from Ranka's version, too.

Man, I can't wait till next episode. I'm kind of glad next week is the last episode...and Gundam 00 has been licensed(so S2 probably won't be fansubbed.) Between them, and Heroes, I'd probably end up having a TV-related anxiety attack waiting for new episodes.

I'm sure some group will cover season 2 of gundam00 other wise I'm never going to be able to see it here

I hope someone subs S2. Took me forever just to find S1.

Download the raw after you see the subbed version, the detail and colors are amazing! Zero-Raws put out a great version, its a huge file size but so worth it!
