and find out the seller didn't truely know what they had?
wednesday i got a package in the mail. after opening it i discovered that my alternators silverstreak was in pieces because it had been shipped in a large empty box in mid- transformation... after reattaching doors, arms and misc pieces when i realized something was missing...
"where in the hell is my steering wheel?!"
after taking an additional second i realized it was on the right side... SCORE!!!
i don't know what the difference in value is but i do know it is rarer...
anyone got an idea of it's value?
anyone else ever get a nice bonus?

Can't say I've ever gotten the hook up from ebay. I have been ripped off though. I had no idea that "good played with condition" meant scratched to hell with metal corrosion, every joint loose and floppy like a rag doll and broken in three spots. That's really my only bad exerience out of 60 so....that's not bad.

a few minor errors in descriptions, like Hellscream has mentioned, and now and then I've had people throw in free stuff as well. Though not TF related, bought a Lost in Spca lunch box with no pic for $40, and it's almost in brand new condition, not a bad find

the guy i bought my shrapnel threw in a nosecone for free. sruprised the hell out of me. he had it for $5 BIN, but i was lacking the funds and got yelled at for buying shrapnel. ihad inquired on combined shipping, but then declined and told him what'd happened. he wrote a note and said it's cool, i've got a wife too lmao. bad thing is, it was the wife that opened it. XD

No real surprises in my experience, aside from items I buy occasionally being in much nicer shape than I was expecting, or including the box, instructions, etc. Lucky that way I guess.

That's why I get all my eBay/TFans buys shipped to work. I usually take a TF or 2 to work w/ me when I'm expecting one in the mail, that way when I come home w/ 2 or so, she won't notice.

I've never had any "positive" surprises, but I can't stand when a person has like five of the same item, and although they don't use a stock pic, they'll take their own "stock" pic. So then they'll say that the pic is of the actual item, when it turns out that it was just a random one of the five, and the one you got had damage to the packaging, damage to the figure, etc.

My Problem was that the pictures did not show enough detail. In the right light and angle you can make anything look good.

My only TF related ebay problem was some months ago when I got a KO BT Grimlock (really cheap, even a totally wrong & fugly head) while the Auction was for an Alternator Grimlock ... and yeah, I paid more than too much =(
Two days ago I stiffened its flappy waist joins with nail polish, and removed the silver color with nail-polish remover ... now it's a cheap and black KO ^^
My (not yet) wife doesn't really have a problem with my TF stuff though, she even let me use her nail-stuff =)

i once bout some defensor pieces online to go with my protectobots.
only the chest pieces, left fist and waist plate were real and the 2 feet and right fist were KO.
not that impressed but the Blades and Streetwise i got off him were real so it was ok.
Got a Bt Meister and discovered he was right hand drive, was very impressed by that as it meant that he wasn't just nicer than the alt version but he was uk accurate. (unlike alt ravage)

Oh yes. Been there many times over.
Played with condition is more or less beaten to hell with most pieces missing.
When I began collecting vintage MASK I really lucked out with a seller. I think I bought a Volcano, and scrap Rhino from the guy and he threw in a Thunderhawk and Switchblade because he just wanted to get rid of em. Toys weren't in all that great shape but he did include both figures original non safety proof helmets or Tracker/Mayhem and both small bombs that attach to the bottom of Thunderhawk at no extra cost. All of which are an absolute Starscream to find on line or anywhere else.

I actually got a hook-up at a yard sale. A lady put out a box of miscellaneous toys so took a peak. I found an original boxed Dynaman-Dyna Robo with a loose Dyjupitar carrier, a Changeman Shuttlebase carrier and a mixed assortment of Super Gobots all for the low, low price of $10us.

I bought a MMPR megazord from a guy who said it was a KO because the colors were wrong. gave him $10, and he dropped it off at my house on his way to work.
I get home, and find out it's a black and gold special edition. very nice find.
