One of them was a poisonous spider but other a tarantula is just big and hairy not poisonous. What was his name Tarantulas or was spelled Tantalus, the greek king? optimuslaugh2.gif Why did the makers of the series make them both poisonous one when wasn't in real life? Wouldn't the maximals get immune to their vemon? Maybe Dinobot did because his transmetal clone woke up immediately after Silverbolt's gal shot him. In the beast wars, Rhinox gets a cold in the low road and doesn't infect others with all his sneezing. In all the series, once someone gets a virus,it can spread like be mere contract while in the beast wars that wasn't the case. Why didn't any beast wars characters get diseases from the other animals or those were closely related to them or from each other:tfpuke ? Other transformers were mostly machines and didn't change into earth creatures so they are less likely to get diseases like beast wars characters.
Ultimate mecha sonic
tarantulas is his name
and i dont really remember him using poison at all in the seires
and you also have to remember that these are robots, not animals, so they cant get organic diseases

Tarantulas wasn’t poisonous either in beast or robot form, the only time he did use poisons were in the episodes Cutting Edge and Other Victories. Blackarachnia’s main weapon was her cyber venom gun, as her beast form is a Black Widow (which is a very poisons spider) it makes sense for her main weapon to be venom.

Plagues and cyber infections have been used as story drivers throughout TF history eg the cyber plague in ‘The Return of Optimus Prime’ and the scraplet disease in the G1 comics.

Its open to interpretation over how organic the Beast Wars TFs were, Tarantulas both in his original BW form and his Transmetal form ate organic creatures, Rhinox ate grass etc. Tigatron also had a possible carnal relationship with an organic tiger called Snowstalker. I’d prefer not to put too much thought into it because it will probably give me a headache.

The initial Beast Wars names were pretty Blotty.

Cheetor?
Rhinox?
Waspinator?
Tarantulas? (which is just the plural of tarantula, even though he's just one)
K-9?!? (was he upgraded from the Doctor's robotic pet?)

...then you had the use of faction names as individual Transformer names like Insecticon and Dinobot (I love the character, but god that name sucks)... then you have "Lazorbeak", an illiterate form of Laserbeak ffs... graaargh!

Even the Beast Wars toy canon* was pretty ordinary and would've been really forgettable if not for Mainframe coming along and giving us a kick-arse story with the cartoon (and the toy canon adjusted itself accordingly in post-cartoon waves).

*The Transformers became beast-moded because of top secret HUMAN technology stolen by Megatron... yeeaaaahh...
