More pics later--I had to touch up some paint, so it's drying and curing right now!

No pictures yet (and I apologize for the lack of a gallery of pics), but I've been struck with a brilliant idea, and am now in the process of making those BFG cannons into working missile launchers!

Turns out, his head isn't the only thing that Cybertron Downshift is donating to the project! I'm in the middle of heavily modding his launchers to fit inside the pen barrels--without even having to carve up the barrels except to allow for the triggers for the missiles.

I'm also taking the handles from the guns of my two Sideswipes and implanting them, so the cannons will be able to mount on WJ's shoulder holes, in his fists and in the holes I'll be adding to his backpack (the Xevoz piece will be replaced or modified for this).

I just glued the handle in, and will take pics of the thing tomorrow, before and after assembly.

Sunstreaker is modelling again, simply because he happens to be in bot mode right now.

Looks cool, but in relation to the character, I don't think our autobot scientist would be packing so much of an arsenal.

Yea, I'd have to agree..Way way too big, just in general purpose, not just character related..Far to large.

It is a tad big - but didn't Wheeljack have BFG's on his shoulders in G1 anyway?
Scientist maybe - but I always thought he was a millitary scientist (he did build the Dinobots!)

Gotta agree with my friend here. As long as you make it blow apart when WJ fires it, it's perfect!

In addition to the toy having BFG shoulder cannons, his comic and TF: Victory incarnations also sported Honkin' Big® missile launchers and pretty hefty rifles (except IDW's, who apparently liked the Noisy Cricket.

I was only thinking about the toy's shoulder guns, but it looks like my cannons ended up resembling a couple of the comic book versions by coincidence.

well, if you wanna be technical, those aren't guns that look so big in the pics you link, those are the missles. I just see WJ being a more rational guy, putting reason before war.

Aaaanyway... Wheeljack, being a bot of science and mechanical wizardry, has designed it so that when attached to his backpack, the BFGs double as a rocket-pack.
