So.. i guess I'm a scalper then right. last time i checked I gave some people some really good deals on TFans and tfw2005. but since I wont sell to a certain members and give them the shuffler for what i paid(because I wont do buisness with them anymore), I guess I'm a greedy bastard with a baseball bat. and I do have a best offer on it, so whatever, think what you want. first good offer that comes along and its gone.
Elrod the Albino
Nov 5 2007, 06:33 AM
No one said you were a scalper. Reading your description, you said you didnt actually want to sell it, but would for the right price. I can agree, as I have no desire to sell mine, but if someone gives me that much its out the door easily.
My concern is the ebay fee you are practically throwing away. Isnt it like $40? Thats kind of an expensive lottery dont you think.

thanks casey. most likely it wont sell at this price, but when it does sell, it will most likely be off of ebay.

Nov 5 2007, 10:48 AM
i wouldn't call you a scalper unless you bought 20 of these at a time.
you look like an upscale collector who is thinning out the herd a little and know the market price for such a rare item...
i don't know when the item was originally offered but if it were 10+ years ago and you did buy 20 of them and are just now selling the you'd be an investor...
just added you as a favorite seller in case i see anything of interest that i can afford...

I sold one Buy-it-now for about $600 2.5 years ago. I wish I had tried to sell it for $700-$800, but I thought that was asking too much back then.
It would probably be worth $800 now. I can't see the Ebay price because I'm at work, but I assume it is close to $1000 based on the comments here.

you mean yahoo right? because i havent seen one on ebay in a while, and usually i see them sold in whole sets. the last one i did see sold went for 500 and that was like two years ago. but it has been awhile. and ultra prime, i agree that 600-700 tops is around the price I am looking for. but I'll see what kinda offers i get.-but I still dont need to sell it and i dont need the cash-so thats going to keep those 450-500 deals from being made. and to tell you the truth, having had this little guy in my hand, i wouldnt pay over 100 for him, he's just not that impressive and I'm not a completist, i just like having the rarer of the tf toys. just like black zarak-major waste of money IMO.

Like I said UC, that VSX sold for 1500 before the convention even started. So the deal was made already. The more I think about it, I'm not sure if it was MISB or just MIB. I know already hardcore collector paid the guy who brought the VSX a crazy amount of money just for the instruction sheet. You just have to have the right connections. And money...

i agree, it doesnt help to know someone who has one, it helps to know someone that has one and is looking to sell it. the shuffler was due for a pay raise anyway. and on japanese excl. you really cant put a price tag on them. it all matters on what your willing to pay, and what your willing not to accept. screw the market price, that doesnt matter anymore on the rare stuff. the saliva glands determine price now, even if you think you know about tfs, sooner or later someone is going to pay a handsome price for something really mint or really rare. take your pick.
shuffler has been the same price for a while, like I said-he's due for a pay raise.

Yeah, I was just curious as I said, where and how a lot of the extra-rare stuff surfaces. Thank you though. I've dealt with Black Gears in the past with pleasant endings. I've had some nice transactions with eBay sellers "Ministry Of Toys", "ksgj03", and Martin from Robot Kingdom. I know a big part of the search is definitely patience. Thanks for the info though.

Was that the Goodbye Convoy from eBay seller BunnyBunnyToy, I was thinking about bidding on that one. The seller had the same item up in an eBay store, and had it listed for auction, $600 was a great price for the B-I-N, but I was going to try and get it for a little less, I managed to snag my Goodbye Megatron for $400 due to too many bidder restrictions on a auction one time.
I would love to see the site.
I'm working on picking up another US G1 Megatron to swap out the Box/Styro for one of the ones I have. I've noticed for myself, though not always the cheapest thing to do, it works out really well for me to buy the same thing multiple times and just piece together the perfect piece. The collection isn't too special, all I'm really concerned with is the Walther model. I've managed to get a hold of unused versions of most, I still need a couple of foreign boxes; Canada and Spain I think it is. One of these days though, I will finish.
