oh if you have the powerDVD player program, use that. it has a screen capture feature as well as a step command when you pause the movie

Get http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIMPshop & open the "layers" menu for quick & easy animated .gif's dudes. I'll be churning plenty out once I get my hands on an official version of the movie.

First off, you need a computer and the TF DVD.

I'm on a Mac, so I use Apple's DVD Player plus a screen grabbing tool called SnapNDrag (Apple disabled it's built-in screen capture tool for DVD Player. bastids). But for PC users, I've heard PowerDVD is great for grabbing screencaps. The key is to have a software player that can play in steps (frame by frame) so that you can 'cap the exact shot you want.

that is SWEET. ive watched that scene over and over and they don't really cheat on the transformation so much as do it really really really fast.

in fact, after viewing a lot of this movie in slo mo for capping, the whole movie is full of these kind of things that move so fast, i dont think anyone realized what was actually going on. for example, the supposed "barricade death" scene (it was in fact a mercedes c-class that met its fate). in the 2 seconds after ironhide says "look out!", he's grabbed the car, thrown it at blackout, while blackout transforms in midair and flys overhead. ill try to make a gif of this 2nite, see how many frames they acutally used... hehe

Actually, I was quite impressed that even Starscream blinks. It means he can do things like narrow his eyes and emote better.

Ahhhhhh I never saw that before!

Hmmm, that's the same kind of car used in the original "Bay being picked up by Megatron" scene they ended up not using (it's in one of the Easter eggs). I can't remember if you can see the licence plate on that one when they're lifting it up with the crane.

Really, the eyes are what sold their "life" to me. Blinking, peering around, narrowing, it all was conveyed well. Prime didn't just look firm in some scenes, he looked world weary. And that was touching.
