Says right on the box. "Narrated by the voice of OPTIMUS PRIME (Peter Cullen)"
Well, unless Cullen is doing the voice of Bumblebee, I don't think so. Prime has a few small lines in the video, and it IS Cullen doing Prime, but that's it. It's Bumblebee all the way.
A nice surprise, however, is Welker's Megatron. He has way more voice time than Cullen, and his familiar Megatron is very welcome.

Hearing Frank Welker doing Megatron is the only redeeming feature of the "animated" short Beginnings. I always thought of animation as having MOVEMENT. Speed Racer has better animation.

So, what y'all are saying is that this set is NOT worth getting?

WOW !!! Thank you guys for the insight. I purchased this set plus the Target transforming one this morning. Since I haven't opened the one with the "beginnings" animation, I will promptly return it as I REALLY could use the money. Thanks again !!!

Considering the time that was available from the time this was announced and the DVD release date, it was pretty easy to guess that the "animated" comic wouldn't amount to much.

Target's transforming case was interesting, but I passed. Best Buy's exclusive Ratchet and Megatron sat there, asking me to take them home- but I stopped collecting, so I passed. (Considering these are looking rare, that might have been dumb, admittedly.)
What did interest me was the 2 disc, simply to own- so Best Buy snagged me there, and I was sucker for 2 free little guys to boot.
All the other exclusives didn't appeal to me enough, except for this Walmart bonus disc, so I also picked up that set this morning. I haven't opened it yet- I came here to see what the good word is. So my on-topic question here is did anyone get this and ENJOY the Beginnings disc? It all seems negative, which makes me think I'm going to return the set - I never had the comic, but I don't see much reason to waste the loot if I'm just going to be fairly disappointed.

I enjoyed the Beginnings disc as well, I thought it was very well done and having original movie cast members doing voices was even better. Yes, believe it or not, some of us DIDN'T read the prequel comic or know anything about the prequel story so STFU

Beginnings is awesome and I think I'll be keeping it.

I didn't read the prequel comic or knew anything about the prequel story and still thought it sucked so right back at you.

I have the prequel comic itself which IMO was awesome because it really did a good job of setting everything in motion for the movie.
Still not enough incentive for me to bother with the Walmart set.
I simply settled on the two disk SE at Superstore.

i picked up the 2-disc special edition then just downloaded the beginnings content from teh internets... i liked it. its more of a pop-up book than traditional animation. welker's megatron was awesome to hear again. and i really really hate bumblebee's voice. why is he british?
btw, anyone buy their set from circuit city? curious as to what they offered with their exclusive online content card...

What's up with Bumblebee having a British accent in the movie and Beginnings DVD? And aren't there some mistakes in the storyline? It said Megatron crashed on Earth 4 million years ago??? Seriously...it's taken 4 million years for the other Transformers to find him? And we're supposed to believe Bumblebee's vocal mechanisms were broken for over 4 million years, then he comes to Earth and Rachet fixes him in a couple days? LMAO! This comic prequel sucked! It WAS cool having Welker voicing Megatron though.
