I went by Walmart on the way home from work at 4:00AM (I'm working the night shift this week) and picked up the two-pack with Transformers Beginnings. Very nice box and case design. It was $19.99 + tax I believe so not a bad deal. Anyways, I shall be watching it tomorrow. Good luck and good hunting

I envy you people. I stil have to wait and I've only seen it once so far, so I should be enjoying myself very much the second time around. It would be nice if that transforming case gets a release over here, but I'm not getting my hopes up just now.
What extras did you get, lucky buyers?

I had to go to work after my purchasing, so I haven't explored the discs, yet. But in terms of extra content you should get all the same stuff I got. The case itself is my only exclusive...oh, and a tiny comic, but it appears to just be a smaller version of an issue of the IDW movie prequel.

Any way to find out (Bearing in mind I have no idea what make or model it is other than there being Mico written on it)

There should be a specific model number listed on the front of the player somewhere. Find that and we can help you determine if you're multi region or not.

I have to correct myself here. The comic is, to the best of my knowledge, a completely new chapter to IDW's original prequel story. I haven't read it in its entirety, yet, but it includes all of the Movie 'Cons on Cybertron, even
Wreckage.

Hmmm, a DVD where people read me the prequel comic I already own, or an all new addition to that prequel comic story + full DVD bonus content and a cool Transforming case?
It's official, Target > Wal-Mart.

i was plesently surprised by the inclusion of the comic in the deluxe edition. i was pissed off because the movie was 24.98 instead of the 22 i'd been expecting to pay, but i bought it anyway. the case looks MUCH better IRL than it is online. i'm watching the special features now and man theres a TON of references to g1, almost like they wanted to drive home to fans that they really drew inspiration from g1.
got lucky as hell though, i'd planned to go there and be there when they opened, well i overslept so me and my friend hauled ass, target is an hour away btw. we got there around 9 and they opened at 8, in that hour all but 3 of the deluxe edition where sold. i couldn't believe that Blot.
oh yea, the menus are Powerglideing awesome and so far so is the features, lots and lots of content here, and wow that case is Powerglideing tall!
oh, and the plastic quality of the dvd case is actually pretty decent and of a better grade than a standard dvd case JMO

At first I was disappointed there were no deleted scenes on the 2nd disc, but if you watcht he various features, you will get rewarded with a handful of deleted scenes, as well as the "easter eggs" on each of the main screens that have some neat stuff, including a couple more deleted scenes on them. Now, most of the deleted scenes that required the robots weren't finished, but we can all use our imagination, right? In the end, I was very happy with the 2-disc set and the transforming case is way cool.

As stated in another thread, I purchased the Wal Mart exclusive and the Target one. I will be promptly taking the Wal Mart exclusive back. Like Buddy Killer, I got to Target this morning at 0900 and there were only about 5 left. When I got to the counter there was a lady in front of me and the cashier saw the movie in my hand and said "Oh, that's been the most popular item this morning." Target definitely did something right.
Oh, Phoenix Hawk, just in case you didn't know, I'm the only one on this forum who is allowed to have Scourge as an avatar.

I got there late at about 10:30. There were only 2 left. When I grabbed one another guy came up behind me and got the last one just a few minutes after. It is pretty cool. I like it a lot.

Well apparently I suck because I didn't get the Special Edition version. I went to Walmart at 4:00AM, obviously not awake enough to know what I was doing, and got the two-disc version with the regular movie and the Transformers: Beginnings disc. Now Beginnings is actually pretty cool but I regret now that I didn't get the special edition because I don't have the behind the scenes stuff, deleted scenes, etc.

Of course I can't take it back because I've already watched the DVD's and opened the package up. I suxx0rz.

Where does the return policy say you can't take it back after you've opened it? I'm pretty sure Wal-mart doesn't care. And if they do, explaining that you just want to exchange it for a different version of the same movie should probably help.

I went clothes shopping at the mall yesterday and was on my way home when a friend called me and asked me if I had picked it up yet. I had totally forgotten about the movie coming out, so on my way home stopped by Target and picked up the last Transforming case set there was in the store. At least the last on I could see. There was a display case next to the registers with the single edition set selling for 15.99 or something and someone must have decided against spending the extra ten dollars on the 2 disc set and left it there. I walked to the dvd section and didn't see any other copies. Short review:
The case is cool and all, easy transformation. Plastic quality is fine, don't understand how someone could break a dvd case as stated above, but as long as you take care of your stuff like i do, you should be fine. Glad the clear plastic case that it comes in is reusable, it would standout horribly with the rest of my dvds. The movie looks great of coures, i had to check to see in the Decepticon roll call if they had changed or fixed "devastators" name to Brawl but no, it was left as released in theaters. Nothing much on disc One, just the film and setup options, scenes selection.
Second disc is where all the extras are. There are plenty extras and a few easter eggs there but I had hoped that there were more deleted scenes. I think Lucasfilm may have made me spoiled with all the extras on the Star Wars prequel Dvd's because thats how a 2 disc dvd set should be. Yeah those prequel movies weren't that great, but those dvd extras rocked! There is cool stuff in this set, I just felt like there could have been more included, like the sector seven website videos (unless they are easter eggs, i have yet to see them), more concepts of the robot designs etc...
Good set for a great film. You just know there is going to be a second or third release with more extras in the future, especially around when the sequel hits in a few years.

Went to Super store after work and grabbed the two disk special edition. No add ons or exclusive stuff but that;s fine by me.
Case is kind of uninspiring but it's whats inside that really counts.
Hope to check out some of the specicial features shortly.

next time you return something, look around and read those big signs, one of them says that media that has been opened can only be exchanged for the same exact thing.
