It's true though. The designers only drew up ONE Protoform body for the arrival scene. You'll notice Ironhide (the pool) looks just like Prime (the field), and that Jazz (the Pontiac dealership) lacks his trademark cross shaped hands.

Look Arcee it isnt molestation, its the laying on of the hands.

If they all look the same, how is everyone sure Ironhide came out of the pool?

IMO, the specific focus on his rising from the pool coupled with the dramatic pause in the music signified it was Prime, not the fact that the next frame showed a truck transforming outside of a house. But that's just my opinion.

That scene was a montage, so I assumed that Prime had traveled to the field. Like I said, I was suppported by sound and visual cues in the moment that the pool protoform was Prime. Then it cut away to Ironhide, then it cut back to Prime. It didn't make sense any other way whenever I saw the film.

Don't we see prime emerge from the smoky crater in the field, run over to the highway and scan the semi? Except for Ratchet, we pretty much see all the autobots choose their modes (Ratchets was a little vaguer...but still...)

So... really???

PS - Only one protoform is super lazy on their part... especially when instead of looking generic, it looks like Prime...

Watch the movie again. They all looked the same as protoforms. You cant tell Jazz from Ironhide to Prime. The bot that ran from the field looks just like the tooth fairy that came out of the pool.

The only OFFICIAL protoforms (per Michael Bay's film, not including expanded universe stuff) are the autobots...and they all look the same.

Megatron is some sort of spaceship thing, but not a protoform. And Starscream's PF is never shown, or any of the other Decepts... but maybe they all looked like him!

I guessing it's just like G1...the Decepticons (Megatron and Starscream) were able to fly to Earth, whereas the Autobots fell in metal turd form.

No Matter what TF fiction you pick, you're still forced to fill in your own blanks.

Of course. Giant transforming robots is a cool yet stupid concept. Smaller, mass produced, and much sturdier robots would be the better way to go as far as efficiency is concerned. There're plenty of reasons why humans don't get too big: King Kong is one of them.

As a matter of full disclosure I was pretty sure Prime came out of the pool.

And I'm sorry, the stupidly Renamed "Protoform Jazz" Just looks like a Prime.

Got the windows, got the face plate, got the helmet. He even has the Movie Prime crest.

Lazy movie design, and foolish marketing aside, this toy is "Just Prime".

All signs point to Ironhide coming out of the pool - the father runs out to check on his daughter, Ironhide hides behind the trees, and the next shot is the two black Topkicks and Ironhide pulls out of the driveway. I fail to see how that could be anyone other than Ironhide.

And the designers stated once that the CGI models for the protoforms are all the same, only Jazz is slightly smaller.
