Alien Vs. Predator...saw the trailer last week. Looks awesome, but it just won't be the same seeing the Aliens w/o seeing Sigourney Weaver...

Well, technically this movie takes place a number of years before the first 'Alien' movie....which is still 70 years or so before 'Aliens'. So no Hicks. I could see maybe a cameo of Dutch, but I'm sure Arnold didn't have the time....plus, where would you put it in the storyline?

I have seen the trailer a couple of times and I most say it looks promising….but then I think we have all the seen potential for this movie from the Aliens Vs. Predators games….so I hope the movie people did it right….this could be a big blockbuster for sure.

Did anyone see how huge that Predator weapon claw was? It was like 2 and half feet long of blades. Those blades that come out near the arm. I was like DAMN!!!

Yeah, remember when that Pred put it around Schwarzenegger's neck in the first movie? That's a big claw.

Close enough. My point was that Hicks wouldn't even be born by the time that AVP or 'Alien' take place. Hell, probably his parents haven't even been born by the time AVP takes place.

The movie's set in modern times so we've got about at most 100 years before the Nostromo's maiden voyage. The Bishop in this movie is Bishop Weiland, owner of Weiland Industries and head biomechanical researcher, nuff said. Go check out www.avp-movie.com and see what they've got going. I can't wait for it... I never cared for the aliens movies, but I LOVED the first predator... the 2nd was ok... but this looks sweet!

I think the predators should win.

Also what is the background... didn't the "predators" make the aliens for game/hunting or something?

This is the background that I know from the comics: the Predators have hunting parties, they go from planet to planet seeding them with game. As you've seen they're trophy hunters so its a nuff said. Since the 'Aliens' race is an adaptive symbiotic xenomorph that takes on the characteristics of the host creature, the Predators use them to some extent. The human aliens are a prime hunt because they have a higher degree of intellegence. The hunt in the movie are a ritual style like that of an indian tribe, the younger ones go out and when they survive are welcomed back into the fold. This movie seems to have multiple classes of the Predators, the young ones there for the hunt and the more experienced ones (check for one called 'scar') are there as either back up or there to bait the traps. The alien hyarchy is that of a hive. workers, warriors and a queen, The workers from what I could tell between Alien to Aliens is the size. regular aliens are more streamlined and black, the warriors are more armored, the heads have a sort of ribbing to them which is thicker.

no. the aliens not made by the preds, what happen is that in 1990 DH comics put the two together, alien had been out for years and Aliens had been out about a year before Predator (1987) came out, in which case it was a "Alien want to be" it was a "B" movie with an "A" list cast.


what most if not all of you don't know is that by putting the two in the same cannon the predator became more well known.


In the end if it wasn't for the Alien movies the Predator movies whould have been forgoten by now

saw the trailer when I saw I, Robot. Me and some friends are definitely seeing it on opening day. Did you catch a glimpse of the possible Alien/Predator hybrid? Maybe one of those face huggers clamps down on a Predator. A hybrid like that would be unstoppable.

Also about the hybrid, in the PS2 game Alien vs. Predator : Extinction, if a facehugger clamps onto a Predator, it hatches what the game calls a PredAlien. Also somehow the damn humans in the game combine the 2 genes and they make a PredAlien Queen. Could be possible for a PredAlien in the movie

I had the same Idea. He could be the son of Paxton from Pred 2 and the ancestor of Hudson. It's flawless.

I just got back from watching it. Excellent movie, especially if you're a fan of either franchise. I loved it, and they left it open for a sequel. And based on how it ended, I hope there is an AVP 2.

Saw the movie last night the 13th and it was AWESEOM!!!! I love the ending and hope to see a part 2.

I really like the part when the got that island in antartica and the Pred Ship flew over that guys head so silently and then he looked up like what? That was soo cool.

I never thought the Alien Queen would be so fast and able to attack the way she did.

I love how the Queen moved just like a T-Rex out of Jurassic Park. That was the part I was most looking forward to, much better than the screen time she got in Aliens. I only have some minor gripes: the whole thing went by too face and those 2 Preds went down too early in the beginning. But the movie was what I expected it to be, a reason to see the Aliens and Predators duke it out on screen. Heh, now they should do Alien vs Jason or Freddy vs Predator. Hmmm, you know I should try and pitch that...

I saw Aliens VS Predator today with my younger brother. He and I love the AVP computer games. They are the best. When the movie was over he said exactly what I was going to say: "It could have been better."

Not that the movie was bad, It just could have changed a few things and been so much better. Like when the woman kills an alien, the predator makes her a spear out of the alien tail. OK I can dig that. But then he gives her an Alien head to hold with her hand. WTF is that about? She walks around with this thing and it kind of looks like Beast War's Megatron with the T-rex head hand except she has an alien head hand. It is kind of ridiculous.

Also, the woman and the Predator are running together and it's like they are best friends or something. That was kind of cheesy. Also I wanted more Alien/Predator fight scenes.

20th Century Fox needs to realize that the best of the Alien movies was Aliens. The one with the Colonial Marines. The pulse rifles were awesome in that movie. I was so dissapointed in Alien 3 because they killed off Hicks. They also had no weapons in that movie, which also sucked. Alien Ressurrection ws just retarded. I mean, come on! Sex with the alien. How ridiculous!

They computer games make use of the Colonial Marines and their weapons. Plus the have all the Predator weapons and the Alien as well. They should have made it more like the computer games. Oh well.

Also, the Alins pretty much won because the killed 2 Predators right off. I hate the Aliens anyway. Then the last one is killed by the queen and he has a facehugger implant an embryo in it. It busts out in the ship when the other Predators pick up the dead Predator. Thus a Predator Alien is born at the end of the movie. They had Predator Aliens in the computer games also. There will probably be a sequel.

Overall I give it a C+ based on the fact that they could have done so much more with the movie. They should have had the colonial marines in it.

Any Predator fan knows that once you kill something you dismember its head and it becomes your trophy. The woman killed the alien and the predator gave her the head as her trophy duh, sorry hope that clears that part up to you.

The Predators won becasue they killed all the aliens but all the predators died to plus at the end a sqaud of predators picked up the last dead predator but then an alien popped out of the predator's chest and then well we have to wait to the next AVP movie won't we

It didn't show actual sex with the Queen per se. But it was implied. It supposedly happened early on. It did show her being pulled through the floor, and then it showed her and the alien rubbing all over each other. It was the dumbest sh*t idea I think I have ever seen in a movie. Ripley sucks anyway! She was good in Aliens and Alien. That's about it. Alien Ressurection was stupid beyond measure. Alien 3 wasn't much better. It's like "I've got an idea! We'll take allthe pulse rifles and Marines out because they made the last movie great. We'll kill off all the cool people from Aliens, and no-one will have weapons." Way to go Einstein.


Please just don't have Sigorney Weaver in any more of these movies. That's all I ask. Also, I hope 20th Century Fox takes the Alien VS Predator computer games into account if they do a sequel. They should, considering they are the company that made the games!
