Big Grim
A new Countdown mini-series called Countdown: Arena features the Monarch(Captain Atom) battling alternate versions of characters throughout the Multiverse to compile the strike team for his new Multiverse army, specifically one Superman, one Batman, a Wonder Woman, a Green Lantern, a Flash, a Blue Beetle, a Nightshade, a Starman, and a Ray. In this mini, you will see the Batman from JSA: The Liberty Files versus the Batman from Gotham by Gaslight versus the Batman from Red Rain. And according to the solicitations: "Earth-12 is a future world inhabited by a version of Batman beyond anything ever seen. The Green Lantern of this Earth is making his first appearance in Countdown: Arena." However, it is not Kai-ro.

Ultraman's all talk, he always ends up getting his ass handed to him while mouthing off along the way

I think we've already got enough Superman knock offs running around. Hank Henshaw, Prime, Earth 2, nuff said.

Didn't vote but I have a feeling its either going to be a Bat or a Wonder.

Besides there's already Donna Troy's evil incarnation running around (The Search For Ray Palmer: first book) so that takes something of Wonderwoman out of the running.

I heard that we're gonna see characters from "THE NAIL" Universe soon too. wonder who those might be.

I think you guys are missing the point, there will be one Superman, one Batman, a Wonder Woman, a Green Lantern, a Flash, a Blue Beetle, a Nightshade, a Starman, and a Ray from various Earths across the Multiverse. Question is, which ones. Some will be ones we've seen before in Elseworlds, some may be brand new.

I kinda voted for 2 batmans.

And there you have it, Batman Beyond in action on Earth-12 in the pages of Countdown #21 at newsarama

Cool. Always had a soft spot for Batman Beyond, mainly for any time when elderly Bruce Wayne would stick on a suit of prototype power armour and use it to spill water over the villain... tounge1.gif

Talk about overkill - could've just used a bucket.

Actually, Old Bruce only put on the armor once, and it was Terry who shattered the window causing the rain to dissolve Inque

Oh yeah... doh.gif

I was about twelve at the time.

I remember looking up Batman Beyond (or Batman of the Future as it was called in the UK) on the internet a while back - Wikipedia, as you would expect, has a page with links to all the other characters - I think whoever wrote the one about Inque must have been her biggest fan, or had some wierd obsession with shapeshifting female cartoon characters, because all they did was blather on about how immensly powerful she was and how the character was a clever composite of several comicbook villains.

I'm sorry, but any villain who can be defeated with a bucket of water doesn't make the grade.

Or if I remember the episodes shown in the UK correctly, you could theoretically kill her with a fire extinguisher (cold enough to freeze?)

Anyway, I never actually thought Terry McGuiness (McGiness? How the f--k do you spell his name?) was true Batman material - it was only the fact that elderly Bruce Wayne figured in the story heavily, almost like he was giving his assent of this 'new' Batman, that made it work.

it's spelled Terry McGinnis, I always have to check wiki to make sure optimuslaugh2.gif
In my mind, Terry became Batman. He went thru a lotta the same experiences Bruce did: parent getting killed, falling for a criminal(Ten), having an old friend become your enemy(Big Time), and working with the League

Yes, I too rather tragically went and checked Wikipedia - looking through the plot synopsis of the overall series, the Terry character did start to have similar life-shaping experiences - although it never seemed to affect him as much as similar experiences did Bruce Wayne - he was somewhere between Batman and Spider-Man in terms of characterization.

I recently picked up the trade paperbacks of OMAC Project, Rann-Thanagar War and Prelude to Infinite Crisis (or whatever it's called...) dirt-cheap from my local branch of British discount book store The Works - good stuff; I got the Countdown to Infinite Crisis one-shot when it came out and was gutted that Ted Kord/Blue Beetle II died - he and Booster Gold were two of my all-time favourite characters after the early nineties Justice League comics (Bwah-ha-ha!)...

Please DC, bring back Ted Kord. There are many characters in both the DC and Marble universes who I could happily live without, but Blue Beetle isn't one of them xbob.gif
Father Time
Wow, you really aren't with it, are you? Ted Kord has been dead for over 2 years.

Read the Booster Gold ongoing. In it Booster is timetravelling along with Rip Hunter, trying to save the timeline, and his best friend Blue Beetle as well!
Hadlen Weltall
DC's working heavily on Blue Beetle Influences. From the Countdown Search for Ray Palmer "Gotham By Gaslight" where that universe' Dan Garret admits that he's tagged with Ray's mark and says "I will venture into their universe" Also Blue Beetle's next issue he makes an appearance, As for TED, from the looks of Booster Gold's new book, Blue Beetle might become a Paradox, he will "Die" like he was supposed to but he might just be joining Booster and Rip.

The only thing that bugs me about that page is his wings aren't under his arms, they stick out from his back like a butterfly.

his wings aren't actually attached to his arms in the show, he tucks them under there. They do stick out multiple times during the series "like a butterfly" optimuslaugh2.gif

Yeah, but The OMAC Project TP reminded me. Glad to hear he might be back.

Did B Beyond have a series finale or was it cancelled? I liked it but could never keep up with it.
Big Grim
it was cancelled, and the final ep "Unmasked" never actually aired on Kids WB. It aired on Cartoon Network some time later. The JLU ep "Epilogue" is considered Batman Beyond's finale
Big Grim
Kinda funny how Kyle assumes it's either Dick or Tim under the mask
