I do like Dante, Solid Snake, Samus, Master Chief, Ninja Gaiden and even Mario. But one character tops them all...Kratos the God Of War! Not only having 3sums in both 1 and 2, he slayed the original god of war Ares as a mortal and beat the crap out of Zues but was able to retreat from getting killed. Now he is leading the Titans on the attack of Olympus. Kratos the self made God...one baddass mo fo.

Hmmm. My first choices are Dante and Kratos. You mentioned the stuff Kratos did so now Dante. Dante can take a shot to the head at point blank, take a sword in the heart, slide it trough his body handle and all and still live like nothing ever happened.

Other folks I'd ad to this list is Cloud Strife and Link. Link Doesn't have an attitude but he and his.......how should I say..."Desendants" have single handedly saved the world on more than one occasion.

Link would make Kratos cry like a little Starscream, and Dante is all hairdoo.and the three of them should run from Razial.

Link always wins.

see, id need to argue that Samus' armor breaks all the Powerglideing time, where as the MC's is pretty sturdy, i mean he fell from a ship comming through the atmosphere and was ok, Samus' armor would have broke and she'd have lost her morphball...... again

Samus faces unique enemies every day and beats the crap out of them all. Master Chief fights a Blotload of faceless soldiers. They're sort of even, except Samus fights faceless enemies, too.

Hands down, the baddest badasses have to be the revolutionary four: Link, Mario, Samus, and Sonic. Link has the most epic storylines and swordplay, Mario is a PLUMMER who fights everything, Samus because... well, Metroid and Metroid Prime, and Sonic because...

While Sonic was a "I'm going to run and run forever" it has it's enemy battles and unique bosses. Sonic Adventure 2 had a fantastic story (Dude, Gerald Robotnik was KAH-RAZY) and the games are unique. Sonic Rush even has it's good points, despite the horrible story. Each Sonic game has something interesting that all comes down to the Blue guy himself.

I would say Gordon Freeman for laying out several alien empires despite being a nerd, but he never actually shat down the neck of anything... Unlike Duke Nukem. Who did. And it was good. Corse the original Doomguy managed to kill something like the population of Poland in hellspawn, AND he did it in a vest. No powered armour for HIM.

I'm sorry but Mario and Link aren't badasses.
