A thread that shall emphasizes upon the final "ending" for the Unicron trilogy. But what are your thoughts about it? You can also rate the series.
To begin with, Cybertorn my opinion was not a bad series. While there were some issues, like mixing CGI in anime backgrounds, it was a pretty decent series. The human charachers wern't as obnoxious as in Armada, nor were they asses like Kicker from Energon. In my opinion, it definately beats Beast Machines and Armada. Some of those gimmick moments were just lame, and the Decepticons were becoming so diminished; leaving only three Decepticons at the very beginning, and no actual "devoted" Decepticons in the series. That was pretty dissapointing. I at times, felt the gimmicks were overused or underused, like Brakedown's key gimmick. The series had some confusing elements, such as the entire concept of having this series tied with Armada and Energon. Galaxy Force, the japanese overseer had better use of wording, and was not originally intended to be tied with Micron Legends and Superlink. However, as indicated in the second Japanese TF:GF DVD, they did. The most irritating element were those fake accents, the most cheesy aspect of TFC. Without that, better Decepticons, diminished roles for the kids, better use of wording like that of Galaxy Force and some more reconizable Autobots, this could have been the best series. Period.
The best aspect about Cybertron was of course, were the toys. While Energon had some decent toys like Megatron, Bruticus, and Unicron; Cybertron had even better toys. The Cybertron Optimus Prime was nothing of awesome as compared to his previous reincarnations; even as compared to G1 Prime. Cybertron's toyline was in my opinion, better than classics, and better than some of the movie toys. But not all of them.
While we have enter into another series TF: Animated, I can only think back at those good times. True, Cybertron probably was not as good as G1, Beast Wars or RID; but it was fairly a decent series. Better than Armada in toys and action, better than Energon in toys aswell. My rating of Transformers Cybertron, 8.2 out of 10. Galaxy Force rating: 9.0 out of 10.

My first encounter with the show was on Hasbro's web site. There, it was horribly edited for time which left me confused and annoyed. Later, I saw it on TV and was relieved. It had a much better story, voices and character personality than the other shows. Starscream was finally cool. The kids weren't annoying to me at all. Tons of humor. The dialog was stepped up a notch for adult viewers in certain episodes and finally there was a conclusive battle between Prime and Megs where One stood and One fell.
Of course there were several things I would have changed. One, the evil characters. I understand why they made the characters the way they did. You know how the bad guys weren't necessarily Decepticons at the end of the day. They were just Transformers from different worlds. I know it's realistic that characters can have a mind of their own and can decide to switch sides and what not but for once since G1, I would love to see Megatron have a team of organized, loyal, evil Decepticons. Nemesis Breaker had no personality, Menasaur wasn't loyal, Scourge was just there to be there, Scourge's crew......wasn't there basically, Soundwave and Sideways were on the outside of things, Dirtboss wasn't a Con at all, Thunderblast was there but she was a flip flopper too, Crumplezone, Thundercracker and Ransack were bad but they were Team Rocket, Mudflap was good for a minute but flipped and finally Lugnutz probably never realized he was a Con before he gave up.
So Basically, I loved the show but the one thing I would have changed is for the Cons to be more serious and loyal to the end. If you're working for Screamer, you're working for Screamer. If you on Meg's side, you work for Megs. I wanted Soundwave to be Meg's right hand man.

It sucked. It was rushed. The toys were better. I hate the kids.

Cybertron suffered from poorly realised characters and a lumbering storyline (much like Energon) in the end the motivation of each TF seemed completely lost ... Scourge for example. I'm not a fan of comedy Decepticons (RID Skybite being the exception) or the 'kids' and the constant Optimus linking with Leobraker / Wingsaber cutscenes are mind numbing.
The shows that have worked the best for me are the ones that have an individual story per episode rather than a continuation of a 50 episode saga.

What a world of difference a dub makes. I tried watching Cybertron, but I couldn't do it. Hasbro made all the characters goofy and retarded just by adding voices.

I've only seen the show on Hasbro's website. Although far from perfect, I found it to be watchable and a serious improvement over both Armada and Energon (but I've only seen Dutch dubbed version of those, and if you think the US dubbing was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet

). The constant combining of Prime with whomever, was annoying as were the importance of the human children. I also had some problems with some of the pacing. Found it especially funny whenever a TF used a cyberkey and the opponent just stood and waited for all this to happen withou firing a quick shot to avoid the enemy becoming stronger. Some of the character development were strange (I never understood Scourge), but I thought the idea of only a small group of true Decepticons was very interesting.
But that's just the cartoon and with the exception of BW (and BM) I've never cared about any cartoon.
As for the toys, they were very good. Was real sorry to see this series end. Although there were some serious flawed figures, there also were some very good ones. The Cyberkey gimmick was a bit frustrating, but not as bad as the minicon stuff. (I just don't buy into a TF existing for as long as they do and never having discovered this huge blades in their arms or found some way to utilize them until...presto...they've can use a minicon/cyberkey.) I also found the balance in the toys between mere toy and more adult oriented hommages very pleasing.
Overall, I was very pleased with Cybertron. A very solid line. Although Classics had some fine figures as does the current movie line, I don't feel either can really live up to Cybertron. (And I'm not even going to mention Animated.)

I've only seen one episode and that was the first, so I really can't say anything about the series. I'd really like to see it in full, though.
The toys rocked for the most part, unlike Energon, roughly 75% of the Cybertron toys where solid, durable and had lots and lots of detail. Some toys got extensive remolding and updates (Dark Crumplezone FTW!) and most of all; it had something for everyone, beast, realistic vehicles, Cybertronian stuff, Armada-esque robots and minicons. I could seriously do with more dino's from that line.

as toys, i thought the designs were very cool.. Sideways and "Planet X" guys were good designs in my opinion..
The show itself, from little I've seen.. horse Blot. I've had my fill of animeformers.. it's just the same as Armada except with Planet Keys instead of minicons. I have to say, the animation was a notch better.. when the characters turned, it didn't feel like they were static on some kind of turntable.. but the way they did the faces with people like Megatron bugged me.. I don't know how much it would cost .. but give the damn lips some motion tweening!
I look forward to animated... I'm really warming up to the idea..

it sucked period. they shoud have stopped at energon on that series. energon and armada were good.
but cybertron just sucked. they added more gay kids and the old voice actors weren't even in it.

Cybertron as a Cartoon flat out sucked. I watched the first five eps and that was it for me. The story was a fraggin mess, the characters were lame and unentertaining. I found nothing compelling about this series, period.
Cybertron as a toy line was a mixed bag. Nearly every beast released in this series just flat out failed as a toy. The exceptions being Scourge and that Blue Wolf. About half of the deluxe range of toys were too crippled by thier Gimmicks IMO and as such I either sold them at bargain basement prices right here or gave them away to people I know. The Leader class was the best part of the toy line IMO with a kickass Prime and Megatron (Galvatron). Metroplex is also of the ruling kind while Menasaur was a joke (what the hell is his alt mode anyway...duck and cover?). The other two classes were also mixed about half and half as far as good toys and bad.
Cybertron was a pretty big letdown for me. Energon blew goats with it's quirky animation and having nearly every character have some sort of nervous tick.....what the hell was that? The story was tollerable but for the most part it lacked. When it ended I thought it couldn't get any worse and as such I was looking forward to Cyberton....so much for that.
I have high hopes for TF:A. As long as it can surpass the past two years it's gravy in my book.

i thought with only a few exceptions that the energon toys were better. (downshift, prime, megs being the main exceptions). i dont watch the cartoons so i have no opinion otherwise. really i even thought some of the armada toys were better than cyb.
but i think that classics was by far bettter than all 3 only to short lived. then again i am a g1er.

The Cybertron television series was far superior to Armada and Energon. It actually had coherent writing and some characterization. Of course, G1 and the Beast Era shows were better. After recently rewatching RiD, I can't say for certain Cybertron is better because RiD was actually a very strong series. However, Cybertron was good in its own right. And the 3D animation was fun to watch, especially the transformation sequences. My biggest complaints with the cartoon were the incorrect airing of the episodes in the U.S. and the very confusing naming of the Cyber Keys and Cyber PLANET Keys. It took me the longest time to figure out those were two separate things.
The toyline was decent as well. It has some strong and weak figures. I think this can be said for all of the Unicron Trilogy toylines, though- there are some gems, but there are many toys that were just ignored entirely.

*sniff* misses Energon Ironhide and Kicker was the right age. The kids from Cybertron were annoying as hell. Thought the last episode was good.

Kicker was okay but Cybertron kids were annoying.
I liked Cybertron, I also like the insane retconning the Transformers wiki has done to get it to fit Armada/Energon
(Temporal distortions are ruining the time line. so it wasn't really a follow on. but it was. Yet not.)

The 'toon sucked. Period. End of story.
The toys were awesome. With a few missteps (Backstop, anyone?), it was for the most part one of the best lines to date (except, of course, the much smaller Classics line).
Me, I'm just pissed I missed out on Evac, the best helicopter TF EVAH.

IT sucked, but it had some of the nicest, most detailed and awesome TF up to then. The Beast Formers were awesome (Except Saidos, and I personally Did not like LeobReaker), but...honorable mentions are the figure of Sideways (My favorite TF of all time), Vector PRime (Detail at its best, at least for the japanese version), Crosswise/Smokescreen (Bugatti Veryon!!), and..well, those are the best bots from that line, really.
And don't forget Primus!
Shame I missed out on EVAC, too. Tons of nice features, nice modes...nice helicopter. Better than Blackout.

got me thinking...
I watched the whole series
american first then japanese subtitled
the japanese was better!
same with the figures!
Glad I got v prime imported. hasbro screwed him up with that white paint job
got soundwave imported too, then soundblaster. they were the best figures out of the whole line imo
prime and galvatron were also great.
plus unicron can slap around primus now! I was mad when we didn't get a voyager-sized screamer... still want one!
still... seemed like the series dragged on for awhile. They could have cut it back by ten episodes and it would have been better.

Didn't see much of the 'Toon. What I did see past the time, but the voices were awefull and the story was only ok. It was totaly for kids, but then, what do I expect?
The toys I loved. Great G1 homages in there. All sorts of great figs. Didn't like Megatron, but Optimus is the best Optimus we've had IMO, along with MP ofcourse. I've got all (I think) of the G1 homage figs and I'm please with all of them. I love Soundwave, despite his skinny legs, Landmine makes a great Scoop, Smokescreen is ace and I love Swindle. As gimmicks go the key business was exceptable, way better than bloody powerlinky-whatever! I feel the G1 homage figs from Cybertron go really well with Classics and the G1 homage figs from Armada and Energon.
I'm hesitant over Animated. The figs I don't think will go at all with A/E/C and Classics. But it's a new direction for Transformers so let's see where it goes. G1 homage figs can continue in Classics2/Universe.
