i recently bought the warwithin Megatron & Prime two pack that had an War Within #4. I've never been a buyer of comics but i was wondering howmant issues were produced.

Volume 1 was 0, 1-6
Volume 2 was 1-6
and volume 3 was supposed to be 1-6, but Dreamwave went out of business after issue 3.

and each volume is a different... plot? like i said i've never really been into comics...

was war within very good?

The three went together telling one big story. The art designs were great, being (I think) the first time that many bots recieved cybertronian modes. The actual stories...well, I thought they were just ok.

War Within vol 1 was the story of Optimus becoming a Prime and his first battle with Megatron (which was awesome)
Vol 2 dealt with the war when Megs and Prime were MIA, presumed KIA (I liked it, but many did not)
Vol 3 dealt with Megs' return (was awesome, too bad it never got finished)

Don't forget Grimlock's supposed death and I think that Prime was supposed to come back during this series as well. We really need to ask IDW to finish off TF WW Vol 3. Though I'm loving their Megatron Origin story line.
