Does anybody remember when Optimus Primal borrowed Prime's spark? He was trying to serve as a holder while the Maximals fixed Prime's body. A side effect was that Primal's body got augmented by the spark, and gave him a more "Optimus Prime" like look. A few episodes later, Megatron tried to merge with G1 Megatron's spark in the hopes of receiving a new body. Just like Primal did. Anyway while the spark was mingling with BW Megs, Quickstrike threw him in a pool of lava. This resulted in Megatron getting his new Dragon body when the transformation was complete. My question is this: What if Megatron's experiment with merging sparks was left undisturbed by Quickstrike, if so what would his new body look like?

If going by what happened to primal, which got him totally meched out and somewhat prime like.. I guess this is all we can assume.

He might have become a reptillian artillery cannon, if Megs' G1 Pre-Earth alt mode was a gun emplacement or flying cannon, like Shockwave's was...

Megatron turned out differently because he'd been in contact with the alien TM2 driver prior to merging sparks. That's why his new body more closely resembled TM2 dinobot and cheetor.

That's actually an interesting question....

Go back and look at the very first episode of BW. It shows both the Maximals and Predicons in their respective ships before crash-landing on Earth, only their bodies are hidden by shadows (probably so the animators wouldn't have to create all new character models that would be discarded for good after a few moments).
Still, in the scene when Megatron is scanning the planet for energon, and latter for beat modes, you can see the silhouette of his pre-beast body. IMO it has a very G1 Megatron look to it, only with a purple colour scheme of course. Maybe the BW writers intended BW Megs' pre-beat body to resemble G1 Megatron's in structure?

Yes it did. It was even discussed at length at Bob Skir's site. Its official Beast Wars canon. The scene was even in the extras area of the Beast wars DVD.

The fact of the matter is, it's a deleted scene. It doesn't appear in the episode. It wasn't even finished. So while there's no way you could claim it as "canon" since it never appears in Beast Wars, at the same time you know the scene exists and there's certainly nothing wrong with saying that it happened "off camera".

Icecap79: The original BW Megatron toy (at least the head) was patterned after G1 Megatron to begin with, so yeah it's going to look more like G1 Megs if you strip all the dino parts off of him. But the body is pretty generic; it's only the bucket head that's really reminiscent of G1 Megatron.
