I was fiddling with my Classics Mirage the other day and realized how awesomely poseable he is... especially compared to his G1 predecssor who was basically a plastic brick.
So out of all G1 toys, who had the best poseability? guess itll come down to most joints... my G1 collection wasnt very large, but out of the ones I had, Shockwave had the most flexibility I think. i think a few of my targetmasters had pretty good joints, too...
but hey for those who have substantial G1 collections, let me know ur picks...

never owned one but slugslinger is supposed to have good articulation.
defensor had the abillity to be good as well due to a not overly oppressive ches piece.

Perceptor, Shockwave, Galvatron and Jetfire come to mind.

Had to be Jetfire... of course he was also one of the most easily breakable. I'd give Wreck-gar a close second, and maybe Cyclonus or Shockwave third. IMO.

Since nobody will ever remember figures from after 1986 (nice noting of Slugslinger, Modesty), I would like to remind that Misfire has decent posability, and Hun-Grrr has some of the best legs on a G1 figure, with decent arms and a head. PLUS he has to be the torso of a combiner. Not bad.

I totally forgot about him, which is silly because he was one of my absolute favorite post-86 TF toys. He could actually like move his legs and stuff.

Galvatron had knee, hip, shoulder and elbow joints, plus a waist joint. Cyclonus did pretty well too -- he had all of that minus the waist joint.

Shockwave could at least turn his head...

Yeah, in addition to those already mentioned, how about Repugnus, the Deluxe Insecticons Venom and Barrage, also the casettes Ravage and Steeljaw.

Oh, and the Action Master figures... *ducks*
Snapdragon: Elbow, shoulder, knee, hip and foot articulation. Not the greatest, Jetfire surpasses him. BUt he's certainly worth a mention here.

Despite the lack of real leg joints, Soundwave is one of the more posable ones (head, arms, elbows, and orientation of legs).

For those wanting specifics: Hung-Grrr's got a neck, ratchet shoulders, hinge elbows, full hip movement, knee movement in hing and ratchet sideways, and feet.
This translates to his dragon mode as each leg having full movement, and his back legs having knees in either direction. Also, his dragon heads have full motion at the base of the neck, and three joints at the middle (the knees of the robot), plus the "chin" (Robot feet)

Yep, my vote goes on Hun-Grrr. Out of all my G1 toys, he's probably the most poseable. Snapdragon too. Sky Lynx wasn't all that bad himself either.

All 3 insecticons were fairly decent, with movable arms and legs. But yeah Jetfire's gotta be the most poseable.

I'm constantly impressed by how poseable the arms are on the 1984 cars (Jazz, Prowl, Smokescreen etc). They're mostly bricks but you can do a lot with their arms.

I have got to go with Fortress Maximus, I know people say he is a giant brick but for his size he is awesome, he's got shoulder, elbow and wrist joints, and hip joints which allow them to go in evey direction plus the dudes head transforms twice!!!! now thats versatility

Hun-Grrr all the way. Perceptor's also pretty impressive and Quickswitch deserves at least a mention.

A) Quickswitch NEVER deserves a mention.
B) Hun-Gurr would get my vote

I haven't seen him mentioned for some reason, but the first Optimus Prime is actually one of the most flexible G1 figures they ever made. He's got hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist articulation, and I've seen ones that could turn their head, though I'm not sure if that's a variant or mod or what.

This is so reaching. Prime was useless from the waist down. Yeah, his knees bent but since his legs can't swing forward at the hip, what's the use. It's like saying that if you lift one of g1 Bumblebee's legs up higher than the other, that's articulation. My vote was going to Galvatron since he's as posable as Energon Galvatron minus the neck

Sludge is probably the most poseable I have out of all my bricks. Wait joint and knee articulation. If he had head rotation, it would pretty much fill the basic movements.

I believe he does, you just have to use excessive force to get it moving the first time.

Scattershot also had fairly decent articulation.
