I live in Japan and recently the movie has helped me get dates with some very fine ladies.

1/ Im in a bar and a half Japanese/Canadian girl comes up to me and, upon seeing my Autobot symbol on my mobile phone says "hey Transformers..COOL!" and Ive got a date with her in a few weeks.

2/ Same bar, different night (tonight to be exact) and some smoking fit Japanese gym fitness girl tells me her fave movie of all time is TRANSFORMERS! She nearly bores me with her love for "Convoy", "Bumblebee" and all the transforming action. She assured me her apartment was a mere 2 mins walk from the bar. She loves steak so Im taking her to Outback steak house and then a second viewing of the movie togther at a nearby cinema in makuhari (near the place where the tokyo game show is held).

3/ A black Yank bird I pulled recentlyLOVES the fact that I collect TFs. She said it was "sexy".

4/ The birds who work in the TRansformers themed "Autobacs Cafe" in Roppongi, Tokyo are cuter than hell in their hotpants and tight Optimus Prime tshirts.


I feel like Sam in that scene where Bee pretends to breakdown and I get an eyefull of that tasty movie bird's midrift as she pops ipen the hood.

Mr bhey may be many things, but he's put Tfs on the map...and the ladies like it!

Being single has so much potential and unlimited opportunity when it comes to women! I love it and I just can't give that up at the moment. So you think the Japanese women are sincerely into you because of TF movie. Or could they be putting on a front -- as in little white lies.

The only comments I ever got with my TFs shirt was from Spider-man at Universal Studios. As I recall, it was something like:

I approached the guy dressed as Spidey for a photo op.
Spidey: is that a Transformers shirt?
Me: Yeah
Spidey: Awesome!
Me: oh, you watch 'em too?
Spidey: aw, who doesn't!?

Either he really liked 'em or he was really into his Peter Parker/geek character.

my girlfriend has been really awesome about my transformers and macross collecting. she's the best.

Mrs Shockprowl isn't trilled about my collecting, but she tollerates it. She's the brains, and accountant, of the family. So Transformers don't help me in the girl dept any unfortunately.

3/ The point wasnt that they were Japanese, but that Transformers has, in some way, "helped" me in the pulling department, for reasons beyond me.

4/ I may have fair hair and blue eyes, but I also have a fairly large beer belly from too many meat pies, so I cant exactly boast about my physical prowess now, can I?

In the gay community, there are those who prefer big, hairy, lumber-jack type of men. These heavy types are called "Bears", and those who are attracted to them are called "Cubs".

You yourself are already out of the norm, because you are caucasian, and your physique only adds to that. In other words, those who are attracted to your non-standard western looks, are also more likely to be "Cubs".


And, personally, I think it is a matter of bad taste to brag about the women you 'pick up'.

My wife tolerates it. And I think it goes better with the less I have my bots out in the open, or look at TFans when she's around, or talk to her about them. We went to see the movie together, and we both really liked it. She enjoys watching the G1 cartoon and making fun of it with me. All things in moderation, I guess.

While I think that's really awesome how the Eastern culture tends to embrace all things Giant Robots a little more readily than here in the states, sometimes I don't think the people over there that would fall into the "hot girls" category will remain as steadfast in their interest. I could be totally off base, and let me know if I am, but don't specialty/themed shops pop up and close down all the time over there? Unless they churn out a couple more movies soon, d'you think everyone will defect to... i dunno... Pokemon again? I guess my thought is... should something develop b/t you and one of these girls, that they don't so much mind when, perhaps, they jump on another bandwagon, and you're still wearing your TF shirts.

Well my fascination with Transformers never proved a hindrance in pulling. In fact it made me stand out of the crowd a bit and made me a little more interesting than the legions of guys who only like football, beer and boobs.
Well after the movie I suppose my Optimus Prime impression gets noticed more easily. Good conversation starter.
