Some of you may have seen these before, some of you may not. Either way, I hope you like them and the new additions. I shan't bore you with the backstory this time (TFs on a future earth with hovercars and stuff) but suffice to say, this lot count as reinforcements from Cybertron.

First off, a classic character:

Sunstreaker

"They can't beat the best!"

Egotistical, vain, arrogant and psychopathic, Sunstreaker treads a fine line between being an extremely efficient warrior and an over-violent liability. This problem is increased when he is separated from the restraining influence exerted by his fraternal twin Sideswipe and he requires careful management to avoid extensive collateral damage. The excesses of his personality prevent him from operating as an effective member of a team, a fact that is all too obvious to anyone who has had him under their command.

Assuming the form of an anti-grav enabled sports car, Sunstreaker is armed with inbuilt anti-personnel weapons and a powerful photon cannon.

Excellent as always. I can't wait to see more.

The only thing missing from your fantastic transformer lego constructions...

... is a massive lego city environment for you to place them in biggrintf.gif

I shudder to think of the Lego resources required for such a feat. bumblebeetounge.gif

I always wanted to build 3D environments for miniatures for AD&D use when I was a kid but never had enough panels. And that was just on miniature/minifig scale.

There are just never enough bricks...

You'd need thousands upon thousands of the things to make an environment for this lot. Maybe if I become a millionaire...

Anyway, for now, here's another mech:

Ratchet

"You break it, I'll remake it."

The highest ranking member of the Autobot Medical Corps, Ratchet has a reputation for bringing soldiers back from the brink of death that makes him one of the most welcome mechs in a combat zone. Determined and fierce, he seems to consider death as a personal insult and will do everything in his power to drive it away.

Intelligent and a highly skilled surgeon, Ratchet is also physically quite powerful but lacks somewhat in combat ability. He usually manages to make up for that with ingenuity and cunning but remains less than comfortable when called on to enter battle.

I always get this question and I always have to say that I do absolutely no planning beyond character and vehicle mode. Everything else is worked out as I go along.

I doubt I could match the desgins! I've made all the Autobots featured in the movie save Ironhide (who I'd like to make when I have the parts to spare) and I have my own version of Barricade built long before we knew what his bot-mode would look like, not to mention one of my Megatrons being based on the movie version. Oh, and a con based on the Swindle drone. I thought about doing a jet based on movie Dreadwing as well but that didn't work out.

Next up, we have a someone else's fan character! Many thanks to Newsy891 of the Allspark for letting me build her. The bio is a botch-edited version of the real one so apologies for that and I suggest you look it up over there for the proper text.

Headline

“When you think you’ve heard all sides, listen for another.”

Outspoken and intensely driven, Headline is usually brash, often painfully shy, at times fearful and tentative, and always fiercely protective of those she considers her friends. Perfectly suited her job as a reporter, she enjoys the chase after a story every bit as much as a good session of playing devil’s advocate.

Slow on foot, but surprisingly quick and agile in vehicle mode, Headline’s strength lies in her mental acuity rather than physical abilities. Able to deploy a communications platform outfitted with a wide array of recording equipment, her only weapons are geared towards self-defence – as she says, ‘I’m covering the war, not fighting it.’

Title says Jazz and Mirage... I'd love to see them, but... where are they?

Once again, I'm an avid fan of these creations and if, y'know, you ever wanted to sell these... I'd be on top of them like Uncle Ben on wheatcakes. ^^

Seriously though, it takes some awesome ingenuity to create stuff like this. Awesome work, as usual.

Argh! *Facepalms*

Sorry, must have changed it on autopilot! Here we go:

God, I love these.

What sets are you using to make them? And, would you be willing to provide instructions for others to make them as well? Or would you take commissions?
Buck Bailey
Brilliant work. I love it.
Primal-Convoy
I have to say that these are the best lego formers Ive ever seen...and I live in JAPAN! Ive seen Japanese guys make all kinds of things from lego parts, including some amazing looking Batman figures. Ive also seen commercial Megablox Gundams, some other comapny that made combiner teams that had individual mechs that tfed into vehicles and robots with pilots and cockpits but you beat them all (and the competition mentioned above was STIFF).

It amazes me why Hasbro hasnt invested more money into things like this and why we all were offered the turgid "built to rule/bound to fail" sets.
Talkie Toaster
probably because of the sheer cost of it?

But it is for a 10 year old, which is kind of who BTR was aimed at, you know.

Azure_Dragoon
You have a good point there. And for a line aimed at BTR's demographic that's certainly an issue.

But then... if you consider most of the higher end LEGO sets do cost around $100 USD then you can't say they wouldn't make good mecha sets just because of parts cost. Probably Hasbro and LEGO either haven't worked out a collaboration or they think there is not enough demand. They definitely wouldn't crank out set after set on that kind of scale... they only do a few of the higher end sets a year.
We here would probably be much more likely to spend $100 or so on a sweet Transformer LEGO set than on the next big Star Wars ship or Ferrari licensed set but that might not be the case in general. Be nice though, wouldn't it?

Still, LEGO nowdays just makes new weird parts whenever they wanna accomplish something rather than engineering cool and unusual solutions with bricks, hinges, and plates. Which is great when the parts are neat but no so awesome when they're uselessly cosmetic. So I have a lot of respect for the good mecha builders who make awesome models with what they have. The Librarian is one of those good builders.

I love your work. REALLLLLLLY makes me want to dig my LEGO out of storage. But then I'd fail Calculus and Petrology =P
The Librarian
TENIME_art: Commissions would be impractical. I've practically used up my supply of essential components by now. Instructions on the other hand, I shall attempt to get round to doing.

Primal-Convoy: Thanks! I shall always maintain that there are people out there who build things that knock mine into orbit but I'm glad you like these!

The whole BTR thing: I've been playing with Lego since I was 4. I kind of got the impression that whoever designed those sets hadn't.

Azure_Dragoon: Always nice to read your comments! There are very few Lego bricks that a a good builder can't find a use for. You'd be amazed at what the most awkward components can be turned into by guys with more skill than me!

As for collector's sets, it would indeed be nice and extremely expensive!

Everyone else: Thanks for the comments!

Optimus Prime

€œFreedom is the right of all sentient beings.€

The implacable, fearless, immensely powerful commander of the Autobot military, Optimus Prime shares his nemesis€™ status as a legend among his people. It would be fair to say that the majority of his troops would follow him into the jaws of the pit if he asked them, and that he would dive into them alone if it would save the lives of those under his command. This readiness to put himself in the path of danger worries many of his higher-ranking subordinates but it has made him a hero in the optics of the rank and file.

Physically, he is a match for Megatron and most of the strongest Decepticons, though he usually carries far fewer weapons. He carries a photon cannon for ranged combat and can deploy an energo-axe for close-quarter fighting.

Optimus lacks a bit in color scheme, but is so awesome. I love the face, and the weapons are interesting, too. Keep it up.
