I actually thought for a while, given the thoughtful and complete way they handled his death and the world's grievieng period, that he was truly dead, with maybe Bucky stepping up to fill his shoes. I'm starting to think I'm gonna be very annoyed by the time this Skrull Invasion thing is over.

The problem with that is the target release date for the movie is July 2009, so it might not bode well for your main character to be dead by that time.
