I had pre-ordered 1 @ amazon.com for $79.88 with free shipping, I'm still debating if I should cancel my order or keep it. Any advise...whats the positive and negative on owning one of these?
MikePrime
It's okay, but I really don't like his stumpy looking arm cannon. I have no interest in buying one right now. That's not to say that I would not say no to one if I found on clearance for $20.
Satan's Camaro
zero interest.
Lord Madhammer
Hellz no. I'm not into the whole Robosapien thing so much.
LaLaM
I bought one at target, it was the worst figure, it's legs aren't that posable, they could have done a WAY better job with the transformation, and the cannon arm is small then the real arm, overall bad figure, also the chest part goes WAY to down, and it just doesn't look right. I so regret buying it, if i were you i would cancel the order right away.

Do you still have the packaging intact and the receipt?

If so, you could probably still get your $80 back.
trench
I'm the guy who likes him.

I expect he'll still be hard to find because all the naysayers will pick him up anyway, just not admit it - like those of you who are closet FAB completists.

I do but problem is, is that theres these black things that you have to tear off to get the wires our and there glued on so i wouldn't beable to repackage it... sadly and i should'v edited that, didn't get it at target i got it at walmart, target never has Blot.
Beast Megatron
There's no way I'm paying $80 for it. If I ever see it on clearance for $20 or less, I might get it, but as it stands I have no interest in getting it.
Bumbl3bee
I agree with the arm being too short on the Ultimate Bumblebee. His chest isn't designed correctly too. So the answer is no. Even though the lights on the car look cool. :\

Maybe if they came out with Battlemask Ultimate Bumblebee with arms that could switch to cannons. Then yes.
Lord Madhammer
I don't get how you can not like something and then be like "oh but I'd buy it if it were cheap". WTF? If you don't like something, don't freaking buy it. JMO

I can honestly say I have every intention of buying this figure. But, only after clearance. I refuse to pay the current price for him, it's ridiculous. I saw one at a Target on Monday and I had the dough....I just couldn't bring myself to walk past the toy department with that intention. So I walked back, and put him back on the shelf. I turned around and walked away. (Robinson TWP, Pittsburgh PA, for those interested.)

If he hits the demand thing that's going on now, well then...if I miss out, I miss out. I just can't spare that dough on that one figure. Powerglide no.

And about the F.A.B. issue, I've only purchased Frenzy, seeing as he's the only true transformable Frenzy figure in the line. (Folding up and sitting there as Barricade's grill does not constitute a true transformation. He...folds. Oooh and unfolds.) I have no intentions of buying any other F.A.B.s

Frenzy was kinda out of left field for me, I wasn't expecting him when they first mentioned him in the news articles on the boards. I think the F.A.B.s are adorable, but not my cup of tea. F.A.B.s sit one notch above Cyber Slammers and Cyber Stompers, and both of those sit on the part of the list that I'd wipe my ass with. Still, he's the best of the F.A.B.s in my book, and he's still far from perfect, so that gives you an idea of how much I don't want them in my collection. (Shame too, I'm usually a completist, so this is driving me nuts a bit, but it is saving me money too.)
DarkNarcoleptic
FAB Frenzy "folds."

It's hardly better than Barricade's companion's transformation.
Lord Madhammer
They all "fold", really. It's just a matter of how many times they do it.
tru_Asiatik
got m ine from sdcc directly from the hasbro booth
not the best design and not really diggin it but im keeping it just to say i have it smiletf.gif

It's just a matter of how lenient one wants to be. For example, I don't like any FABs and I wouldn't pay two cents for them. The same goes for Robot Replicas and the absolutely wretched Unleashed Optimus Prime. Other times something might just be good enough to buy at a low price.
Bumblerod
I got it last friday and love it!!!!!!

He kicks the ass out of the other bumblebee toys I would recommend

The negatives are coming from people who dont even have the toy so dont worry
DUDEMASTER
I saw a couple at the new super Target they opened up around here and 80 bux plus tax is a load of ass when his arm canon is too short, his chest is totally wrong, and looks like bleh overall. If they would have used less electronic do-dads and motion sensor contraptions and concentarted more on the overall badassness of the design he would have been worth the money. I rather wait it out for a concept BB.
boombabee
I'll probably just keep the preorder, the thing is in hawaii some stores jack the price up. For exp. @ TRU they was selling the DVD 20th Masterpiece Prime for around $110, where I saw it @ walmart for $70 but sold out and never did see them restock after the first shippment. I see a lot of people didn't like the LC Megs but it later grew on them as it grew on me. I know the design and qt ain't the best but this might also grow on me plus my 1 year old may love it. Thanks for everyones opinion.
Bumblebee
Will buy. I think its a very unique figure and well..uuumm ya, I really like Bumblebee.

It is expensive, definately. But sometimes you just need to extort the local pizza shop a little more one week........
Agent TMan
Soon as some one gives me $100 bucks, I'll buy buy one....who am I kidding, I'd buy MP Megatron instantly.
Grand Galactic Inquisitor
Absolutely no interest. There's so many Deluxes and Leaders on my list I'd never be able to afford him anyway.
Sentinel
Nope. I saw one at Wal-Mart the other night and it is a big ole pass. I am not paying that much money for a barely transforming POS. Sorry Hasbro, but you may have broken me of my high-end figures addiction. Way to go.

Ok, so I was so shocked to find one at Target, I had to get it. I have not decided if I want to keep him or not, so I haven't taken him out of the box yet. He looks pretty cool to me, though, so I may keep him. Either way, at least I know it won't be one of those things I pass on and say "I'll get it later when it's on sale/clearance" and then never see again except on eBay for who knows how much money.

Give us some feedback if you do open it and let us know if he is a keeper or not (and some pix). By the way didn't you say you wouldn't buy it? cliffjumper.gif

Yep, got mine on pre-order from Wal-Mart.com. When they first put it out there, it was only $72.00+shipping so I decided to get two...because one is such a lonely number.
nightfireop
no i'm not, the ultimate bumblebee looks like Blot, i prefer my deluxe bumblebee.
BumbleDupree
I saw the toy in person today and was about 1 second away from getting it but held out. I had the choice of that or mp prime for my birthday basically. I myself am broke, but was given those options which is weird cuz I never get presents anymore lol. Seeing him in person I do think he is a really incredible toy, the only thing I could say I hate about it is his voice and phrases and some of the song choices....granted it was made for kids basically, but I didn't like them. I really think everyone likes it deep down though, and if it was about 30 or 40 cheaper everyone would scoop it up. I passed on it for the 20th anniversary prime, I know I'll see both of them down the line whether its online for prime or in store for bb. I think I made the better choice though. The transformation looked really difficult from the one vid I saw posted on here

Well, it is $80, and has "Ultimate" on the box...

...I remember awhile before Botcon, TFWers got a sneak peak at the thing and claimed it put all other TF toys to shame.

But DN is right. Really, it's a gimmicky kids toy. Not a high end collectible.

Sarcasm, my friend. I was a huge Transformers fan growing up, but my parents had 3 hungry kids to feed and care for, so my TF collecting was limited to just a couple at Christmas and they were usually the less expensive ones since my parents had to always buy 3 of each. So, while some kids I knew would get all the expensive ones like Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Optimus Prime, etc., I would only dream of getting one of those guys. Now that I am the parent and I am fortunate enough to have a good income and Transformers are as popular as 1984 again, I'm getting these guys. And no fanboy whiners are going to stop me.

I know where your coming from, my only TFs growing up was Wheeljack, cookie crisp mail away Jazz and Grimlock(I traded my He-Man and Battle Cat for it when I was like 4-6) I even tell my wife when we are in the toy store seeing kids picking up a LC Prime, I tell her damn those are lucky kids. So thats why I tell her I'm buying all these TFs to make up my past time, plus I can share it with my son. But all my G1 reissue and Masterpiece (I own all the Takara book style and US release) stays sealed, it is a sentimental value for me, some people wont under stand it but it makes me happy. I still need to find a G1 Wheeljack for a decent price in good condition complete.

Me too, I like the animatronics but He'll eat up the money I'll use for other things *with himself, batteries and other stuff*
mandyDETH
Reasons I refuse to get him:
1) Far too expensive
2) Cannon-arm, with no real arm to swap it with
3) No cool sliding battle mask thing
4) Animatronic crap...I don't need a transforming furby
5) He doesn't transform by himself (for that much, he damn-well should)

That about covers it.

Beware if you think about buying it. Three friends of mine bought the ultimate bumblebee, one at a Walmart and two at a Target. All three have kneed joints attached backward (knees don't bend back, but instead bend forward!!!).

I have an ultimate bumblebee too, but luckily it's knees are attached the correct way.

Just wanna throw this out. Probably the same batch purchased at different stores. The idiot at the Chinese factory must be getting it soon for all the returns due to backward knees.
tru_Asiatik
taken from sdcc when i went
Agent-GHQ
AT first I was bit hesistant. Then after the SDCC '07, I gave it some thought. Then when I saw two UBB at Wal-Mart, I made no hesistation and bought them both.
Pessimist Prime
Yeah, he's $80. Is he worth it? To me he is. He looks great sitting with my movie collection. I'm only collecting movie toys (almost have all I want now, darn '09 deluxe BB!) and need a few Alts to finish my Alt collection. So, I chose to spend the $80 on Ultimate BB. I figure I've spent over $300 on my movie toy collection (including Ult BB) and I'm happy with what I have. To each his own.
boombabee
Just came back from TRU and saw that they tagged the shelf for the Ultimate Bumblebee for...$101.99 slytf.gif Glad I pre-ordered it for $79.88 w/free shipping thumbsup1.gif
MikePrime
$102? That's nuts, especially considering that every other movie Transformer has been the same price at TRU as they have been everywhere else. DC Superhero figures have also been the same price, as have Voyager class Transformers Classics and Robot Heroes.
boombabee
Even the 20th Anniversary Prime was $101.99, that's what we get for living in paradise. But I can't enjoy living in paradise because I have to work to pay the high cost of living thumbsdown.gif over here. Gas, food, toys, etc.
HAZA12D P12IME
I already have one on pre-order and saw a couple at Target so...

So did any one first hated the Ultimate BB but after finding it did it grow on you?

I was indifferent about Ult BB until I saw him for the first time at Target and had to have him. I think he's cool.
Lord Madhammer
I'm really on the fence about this guy. Maybe if someone gave him to me for my birthday or something...
Rodr-Evil
No way, I'm ok only with the deluxes. For that money I prefer some G1 gem.
