Full Version: Advice needed re: ebay auction for WST Soundwave and Starscream.

So, I purchased an auction with a BIN a few weeks ago and just received the contents today. The description clearly reads that both Starscream and Soundwave are included in the auction, but there is only a picture of Soundwave. Well, there was only Soundwave in the box that arrived today. No Starscream to be found.

I've sent a message to the seller, but I'm anticipating an unfavorable response. (People rarely want to admit that they're wrong.) What sort of steps should I take next? Here is the auction in question with the description listed below here for those that don't want to follow the link:

HERE IS A LOT OF WORLDS SMALLEST TRANSFORMERS STARSCREAM G1 AND CHASE FIGURE SOUNDWAVE MIB. BOTH FIGURES ARE COMPLETE WITH ALL WEAPONS AND PARTS AND IN MINT CONDITION, SOUNDWAVE IDS NEVER TRANSFORMERED BEFORE. ALSO INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED. PLEASE CHECKOUT MY OTHER TRANSFORMER AUCTIONS.

I guess I am just looking for other views on this. Am I right in assuming that both figures were included in the auction? It seemed clear to me and it never occurred to me to send a question first. Thanks for your help!

(Also, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. Mods please move if it's not and accept my apologies.)

UPDATE: The seller refunded me an acceptable amount that I then used t purchase WST Starscream. Worked out in the end. (Though she did refund me through a credit card transaction *grumble* instead of just using the refund feature for the payment in question.) Thanks for you help, folks!

This seller has less than a 98% rating...I wouldn't have bought it from them. The title of the auction does not suggest Starscream, just the description does.

Personally, if you get a negative reply from the seller, I would inform eBay and link them with the auction and the description and see what you could do about getting a refund or if they can send the Starscream, instead.

Well, it does say "Lot" in the title to the auction, which implies that the auction is for more than one item. It just seemed that she listed it under the most popular heading to get the sale.

Thanks for your advice. I'm hoping that this gets settled. It's my first bad experience on ebay!

The auction is confusing, but this is a case where you should have asked questions before buying. Although you could make a case with Ebay due to the nature of the description, the picture clearly only shows Soundwave. If you do go that route, don't be surprised if Ebay sides with the seller on this one.

In either case, I would leave neutral feedback for the seller, with a line or two regarding the auction's description. It would show them that you're not bitter, but it would also let the seller know that they do need to be more careful in the descriptions for their items in the future.

Hope this helps. thumbsup1.gif

Taken right from the auction description. Simply put he owes you the other figure and if he doesnt send it you should go to eBay and they SHOULD side with you.

That said I agree you probably shouldn't have purchased from him. For me anything under 99.5% is too risky.

I hope you'd get the best outcome for this. Yeah, it's a bit weird.

AFAIK Soundwave isnt a chase figure. Skywarp and Cliffjumper were the chase figures from taht series.
