Hm. Interesting. The Vehicle one(s?) have completely new mini-figures. I guess I'll have to pull out one of the Neo-Shifter torsos and see if they still fit.

Hate to DP/Bump. I stopped by K-Mart before visiting my Aunt, and they had a little tag on the shelf saying All Mega Blocks are 10% off till 3/11. They had the huge $20 duo, and the smaller sets. (I would of got the $20 duo, but they also had a Lego Exo-Force Aero Booster on clearance for $18. They left up their Lego tag for 10% and even though it expired, since it was left up, they had to honor it...so I got it for $16 something. Yay.)

Anyhow, I picked up the Quad Pod (since I'm kinda doubting I'll get my replacement launcher for the Hydrowave) and the TurboFly.

Ask and ye shall receive! I'm probably gonna take another shot at some more photos once I get my web page going, these are kinda iffy.
Pics of the new Pilot/ball mold:

Turbofly:

The rest of the photos, when public can be viewed here: http://www.maj.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=169314

Anyhow, a few quick takes on the subject. I wish the tail on the Quadpod had more articulation to make it sort of like a posable-esqe scorpion tail. The figure, as seen in the first picture, needs some glue or something. The top half w/the arms and head keeps falling off. The Turbofly is awesome. Messing around with it, if one buys multiple of the Turbo, you could possibly build a decent Tachikoma-ish mecha.

I have to give megablocks props for their service department. I had a few parts crack on the 1st one I got from being dis and reasembled a few times. Still held together pretty well, so I'd kind of forgotten about it for a while. Just picked up a couple of the small ones recently and looking at the instructions it says lifetime garantee. I was expecting some major hoops to jump through, but decided to check their webpage anyways. Surprisingly, all I had to do was fill in the product # and list the damaged parts (all the #'s are in the instructions). 10 minutes later the request was approved and 3 days later my parts showed up in the mail. I didn't even have to pay for shipping. I'm pretty pleased about it.

Also, the upper body of the new pilots were glued on mine. But looking at the instructions I think they're legs were on backwards? Had a bit of a hard time getting them to make a sphere. Though maybe the upper body was supposed to rotate too.

I picked up the olive green colored bad guy.

Looks good took me 30 minutes to built it and quite neat actually, and it will go as the bad guy for my LEGO Exo0Force Grand Titan.

Got the QuadPod, quite sweet, They have added KNEE ARTICULATION on the minifigs! Im gonna have to get teh blushes and get some ClearNail varnish for his arm sockets, he doesnt want his arms...
The spider tank thing is SICK! Love the way the spinner stashes to make the satelite engine!
FREEFALLL666
Just got SHADOW:SFEAR was missing the feet to ankles joints. I had to go on the website and put in a different Shifters model number as apparently the one on the box and instructions doesnt exsist. The order was aproved though!

Pretty sweet build Will have to see it fully armed in a bit...
Taaron
Hey guys, forgot to mention this last night; apparently K-Mart is having a Buy One Get One bundle on Neo-Shifters. It might be a bit more wide-spread, since the boxes looked like they were factory wrapped/sealed together. Didn't think to scan the price though. Sorry!

Aoi

Taaron
So...no more love for NeoShifters? rumblecry.gif Anyhow, I ran by K-Mart today, to do a price check on those Neo-shifters bundle. Ended up leaving with them. It's Blaze & Axx, bundled with Scar & Dorn...and the price? Drumroll, please.. ....*waits* ....Okay. Did I build up enough dramatic tension yet? ...no? Okay. I'll wait some more. ...okay, now I can't wait to reveal! $5.99

Aoi
FREEFALLL666
So does that mean that its 2 for less than 1/2 price of 1??

I'm surprised at the lack of love too.. Shadow Sfear is COOOL! Reminds me of the predator with his 2 double missile shoulder cannons...

Jin Saotome made these out of neo shifter kits. I think they are radical!

and

I wish I had his skills. rockon.gif
Mom
Yeah. Both of those have been front page news on TFans. Sweet paint jobs and Jin always does a great job on customs.

Mom
A new wave with remolds is starting to hit. This one is all I could find. I'll provide pics of ball mode later. Busy painting a custom the moment.

Biggest differences:

All the translucent parts are rubberized and have been remolded.

The mask is now more or less a helmet. It has a back strap and is also rubberized now. Back strp can be used to trigger the head light which is wicked!

feet and hands have been remolded.

All mini figs have knee joints. A + when it comes to articulation but a - when putting him into his sherical mode as it's a pain to get him semetrical AND fit into the chest of the larger fig.

New color schemes of course. I'm sure the website shows these but just in case I'll provide catalogue scans later too.

Here's a list of the new sets from the website. Some of these may have already been seen before-hand. (I think I saw the Neo-Shifter base thingie at K-Mart a few months back.)

(man it was a pain in the butt pulling these off MegaBlock's website.)
Whisky Tango Foxtrot
That looks awesome. I've got one from the first design but skipped the second because not enough had changed and I didn't like the propeller-guns that they had, but I'll probably be getting this one.

Although I still haven't gotten one of those two-packs with actual vehicle modes in addition to the spheres. I should get on that one of these days.
Athenor
Oh wow, I didn't know there was a thread about these! I had seen them in stores, but did not know if I wanted to shell out the money sight unseen...

That said, I have been a long-time supporter of their Dragons line. I guess I should've trusted these, looking through the pics.
Mom
Athenor, you should definately pick a few of these up. Tons of fun for both building and transforming!
Mom
Thanks for the mega-links Aoijunni!

And here's some cat scans for you lazy folk:

I'm planning on picking up Kero<>Tox and Simia::Rix as soon as I spot them. They look Wicked!
spysteak
im going to pick three of theese things when i go to wall-mart tommorow
Taaron
I'm diggin' Sentai & Tar. I'm also a bit interested in the Split Shifter set. As for the base thingie, I wasn't really interested in it due to lack of space, but Megablocks did a pretty good job at the photography for the website. I'm kinda tempted. sweatbead.gif
Mom
I'm completely anti-base. I mean, it looks good and all and I can see the functions it has but I just don't have the room for it and because it doesn't tranform I care even less for it.

I did manage to pick up the little scorpion vehicle (set 6315). While it doesn't kick as much butt as the full size figs it's fun to play with and I like the weapon. I reminds me of those g2 figs that came with the fans:

I think Simia and Nova look the most enticing to me. Not to crazy about the translucent stuff on the legs of the other ones... and some of the color combos are screwing with my head.

Wish I had gotten one of the old ones... but I totally forgot about them... maybe there are some laying around a wallyworld clearance isle... I know what I'm doing on my lunch break!

Just noticed the new sets on the website the other day, but I haven't seen any in store yet. Think I'm more likely to get a Paladin (Kinda like how they're more tube-like than spherical) than Templar. Probably end up with one each anyways.

Also, has anyone picked up a Megablocks Struxx set? Saw them at TRU recently and thought they might make for useful kitbash fodder. They're just a bit out of my impulse buy range and the base kit is larger than what I'd usually pick up for parts, so I've passed on them so far.
Athenor
Yeah, late last night I went and picked up 3 of these -- white and blue miniguys (one of each mold, in other words) and the blue of the original guys. I like 'em, but I can see this being one of those things where I only buy one of each mold. The newest ones aren't out yet, but I REALLY like their aesthetic. And they weren't exactly easy to put together, although I'm not sure if that was the model's fault or the poor pictures.

Also, that rubber band on the wing shells is going to kill me, I swear.
Taaron
I just got back from one of the Wal-Marts here. The little Neo-Shifters were on clearance for $5. (If I had the money with me, I'd probably of got the Dune vehicle.) Not much to report besides that, other than they were re-doing their aisles, so they were pretty bare.

Mom
Yo! Since we're all into the 'build your own' type stuff: just saw these in a wally-cron the other day

http://www.skeleflex.com/

I had to stop myslef from buying the full dino wave but they are so part of my future buys. The Dino's were all that was there and I didn't even know about the aliens until I hit the site. They retail for 9.99 a piece.
Taaron
Oh, those are interesting. They kind of remind me a little bit of how the Stikfas/Xevoz figures are done. (Hope Mr. J Bany doesn't sue on account of the Stikfa Dinosaurs.) I'll have to keep an eye out for 'em. Hope to find the alien ones. ...and maybe the Dinosaur ones, to mixn'match.

Athenor
Okay, I just picked up 2 of the newest wave. I got them on sale because TRU was silly enough to slap their discount/clearance stickers on the entire aisle, meaning they listed it as a discount, and the acting manager didn't want to go back and confirm that someone had made a mistake. So.. yeah.

They have teh same basic skeleton as the earlier ones, but their wings are different on the buzzsaw one... But the real standout is the flame mold. I got the red/yellow one. All the flames/treads are in soft plastic, and the sucker has different hands/feet. It really just LOOKS different frmo the earlier models, which is a huge plus.

I also got the fusion thingy a few days back on mega-clearance. Meh.

The one thing that really bugs me about these guys is that I can never seem to transform/line them up properly. It is kind of obvious that all the panels have a specific place they are supposed to go to achieve a more or less ball shape, but I can never get them into said position! It is kind of frustrating... Any tips? This is especially important with the yellow flame guy, seeing as how the rubbery nature of the wings means they won't close properly without things being lined up just perfectly.
FREEFALLL666
Its more of a case of learning the arm position. once you have that right they should be easy. Split Shifter is a great set too.
