Well with the reveal that Elektra is a Skrull and Bendis interview on

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=116568

(didn’t relies that meant she WAS a Skrull just thought she was being impersonated at the time). WE now know that the Marvel Universe is under invasion. I figured it would be fun to start a tread about who we suspect. Well to start of we know either Luke or Jessica are a skrull (Skrull baby anyone). It’s got to be Jess as this would answer one of the biggest head scratchier of the Marvel Universe. Manly how the Hell did Jess get pregnant by Outback Sex (sorry but it’s a clinical term). My thought is she was replaced (by a pregnant Skrull) right before she told Luke she was Pregnant, and do to the fact Luke was Drunk that night he forgot that they had Outback Sex (sorry again, never thought I would say Outback Sex so much on TFans). the Skrulls did this to help get Luke the push he needed to get him to be noticed and into the Avengers (so of course the Skrulls could manipulate them). Well what do you all think.

Oh, that's so lame.

I dunno, I don't find "evil people posing as undetectable humans" idea nearly as compelling as others seem to. Hmm.
I.S.T.
I just read the interview.

Bendis wants to destroy the Marvel Universe. Him, Quesada, and Miller are all laughing at us now.

It doesnt matter, anyway.
the zombies are coming in july's black panther.

Well, I for one hold judgement until I have read the outcome. And, honestly, I think Bendis is quite a good writer, if you can stand his slow pace. Plus, this kind of intrigue is right up his alley, considering his work on Powers.

It has been revealed that something that happens in the first issue of the Illuminati miniseries will be linked to this. It has also been revealed that something that has happened in that first issue will lead to a big surprise in the last issue. Arguably, these two things are related. One could pose that during their time on the Krull ship, (atleast) one of the Illuminati was replaced. With everything that has happened from that point on (just after the Kree-Skrull War), having one of the major players be a Skrull would have a tremendous effect, and arguably undo, or shed a different light, on too many stories. In other words, effectively, from a story-pov, the big guys are out, assuming one of the Illuminati was replaced at that time, ofcourse. This means, Xavier, Stark and Reed are still themselves. Which leaves Strange, Black Bolt and Namor, who have had relatively few encounters with the rest of the Marvel Universe. Black Bolt, I think, would not be it, because he has too little contact with the rest of the MU to be worth the effort to replace him. Strange would be a good contender for being a Skrull, having just enough influence in the world to do stuff. However, I don't think he is one, because he as well has too much stories, albeit stories in which he merely co-stars, in which he is necessary. It has been stated in Illuminati #1 that the Skrull could not replicate his powers. This leaves Namor, who did not have that much interaction with the rest of the Marvel heroes, is a King, which gives a replacement Skrull an instant position of power, whose powers are easily replicable, and whose release at the Skrull ship was done off-panel. Plus, he was opposed to the idea of sending off the Hulk. If one was to aim for as much devastation and chaos as possible, keeping a force like the Hulk on the planet would be most oppertune.

Ofcourse, if Strange was replaced more recently, that would also explain for how Borther Voodoo could not see him, and how his magic lie-detector trick would not reveal either Jessica Jones or Luke Cage to be the parent of baby Cage-Jones-Skrull.
Rundown
I doubt Reed's been replaced. I think it would be kinda cheap if it turned out to be Tony, as it would work to relieve him of some of the responsibility for everthing thats happened. This sort of thing has happened with X-men before, so maybe Xavier. Strange seems like a good choice, but his spell was meant to reveal intentional deception, which maybe wouldn't work on a sleeper agent. In other words, maybe some people don't realize they are Skrulls(Jess?), kinda taking a page from battlestargalactica.
Can't wait to find out!

Maybe The Punisher is one, at least the one in the new War Journal comic. I'm starting to think that no one but Garth Ennis should be able to write that character.

Anyway,

I thought Mr. Fantastic brainwashed the Skrulls into thinking they were cows? Or was that 60 years ago?
Starscreamer
That was Skrull Kill Krew that had the cow Skrulls...Namor would probably be the best of the Illuninati because his powers could be duplicated easily...

It just so happens that I quite agree with you. smiletf.gif

Plus, I remember one of the covers for the new Namor series featuring him as a carcass on a throne. That's in itself perhaps not enough reason, but Namor hasn't really seen the limelight in a long time, so it's odd to suddenly put him in a miniseries like that. I wouldn't be suprised that the plot of the miniseries turns out to be that the current Namor is really a Skrull.

.....*click*

So, what do we know about any possible Skrull imposters?

1: Weird Ressurrection/Rebirth thing
2: Acting out-of-character
3: Probably can be used to retcon certain events.

1: The Other
2: Coming out as a super hero.
3: see 2

Could Spidey/Peter Parker be a Skrull? It fits too perfectly: All the weird upgrades, Spidey being part of a team, him coming out as a Super Hero for the whole world to see...it just makes a weird kind of sense, nést-ce pas?

Wait Wait Wait... you don't think maybe Captain America was a Skrull?!?!@?

nah... what a silly idea that would be...

or is it?
Big Grim
first Skrulls in New Avengers, then Planet of the Symbiotes 2.0 in Mighty Avengers
Father Time
That was already announced through Joe Friday's some months ago.

nah, Wolverine did the smell verify thing on Cap. if wolvie can tell the difference between 2 skrulls (hulkling and super skrull) then surely he can tell the difference between a skrull and Cap

I'm not following this at all, but are the events from Annihilation mentioned at all? Because the skrull empire was pretty much destroyed.

My guess, survivors are now hiding out on earth.
Strikeback
So... are they saying that Elektra's been a Skrull for some time, or that she was recently replaced? And either way, what happened to the real Elektra (or at least her corpse)? And are the people replaced dead or just "stored away" somewhere?

Ow, my brain...
Doctor Stupid
Newbee here. Would Tony be a candidate for being a Skrull? This guys has no powers to speak of, and with his being the director of SHIELD, he has access to other gizmos and info about the Skrulls (i.e. traits, strengths, and weaknesses) that a Skrull infiltrator(s) would have access to and counter, plus him being at a level of high security would make it hard to run tests on him.

And who was it that suggested the Hulk be shot into space? Where did they get the coordinates to shot him to space to in the first place?
Bestimus Mucho
I think someone's gonna have to wind up taking one for the team, and eat some Skrull meat... hope they don't die, and get Kill Crew Powers to see Skrulls.

I think the point is, Stark would be the most obvious candidate for this. Even within the Marvel-616 universe, people think so. All the signs point at him. Which is why I think, and partly hope, that he will not turn out to be a Skrull, because him being one would not only be to easy., but it would also negate a lot of recent events in the 616-universe.
I.S.T.
I believe that's the entire point of this storyline, retconning a lot of the recent crap. It so obviously smacks of COIE style reqriting it's not funny.
Hadlen Weltall
So does this mean that Marvels found a solution for Captain America's death?
Big Grim
not unless they performed the same autopsy on Cap that they did on Wolverine when he "died," but that we be such a cop-out
Ultra Magnus
right now, i would be ok with just about anyone being a skrull except Cap and Iron Man. those are the main 2 that had big impact on the entire Marvel U and to come out and say "never mind, they were just skrulls..." is just short of the stupidest thing ive ever heard. the stupidest being superboy prime "punching reality", seriously, what?
I.S.T.
I hope they don't turn spidey into a Skrull....

It would undo the "Other" gheyness, but I don't think it'd be worth it.
Hadlen Weltall
well I saw a solicit for "One More Day" where it looks like they're killing Mary Jane. So does this mean she's a Skrull and Spidey's been doing a Skrull?

...ew.

Jonny storm did it for years...
Hot Rod
optimuslaugh2.gif indeed he did.

BTW, I'm pretty much cool with anyone but Cap and Iron man being skrulls for reasons mentioned, however, if "Wolverine" did the sniff test, there's nothing that says he wasn't a skrull at the time.
I.S.T.
*Is praying that Spidey is not a skrull.*

OK, not really, but you get my point. out of all of the people they could Skrull, i do think he's the worst.
Bestimus Mucho
Magic 8 ball is Hulk a Skrull?

:shake shake shake:

Magic 8 ball says: Outlook is good

ha!
I.S.T.
OK, I read the latest new avengers yesterday, and I'm confused as hell. Is Spider-Woman a skrull or something???

Goddamn unclear art.
