Hi. Nice to find a forum dedicated to Pre-TF's!

I've been collecting Japanese toys for over a decade but only started on Diaclone and other Pre-TF's a couple of years back. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum could clear up a couple of quandries

Was there ever a Toybox Skylynx released?
Does anybody have a Micro Change Flashlight Robot? I've been looking for this guy for ages and am starting to wonder if he ever even existed!

To my knowledge there was never a Toybox Skylynx, and I don't think he was released in Japan at all. I also thought that the flashlight robo was a prototype that was never made

The Insector Robo Giftset usually goes for about £ 200.00 mint on eBay or YJ. However it can go for more as it rarely shows up.

I lived in Japan in the late 1970's and still find time to visit about once a year. I started collecting Chogokin, then came Zoids and relatively recently I started expanding my collection to just about any worthy space / robot toyline I could find. I have been uncontrollably buying toys while in Japan, online on YJ & eBay and from other collectors for many years. Most good deals I get I sell on to further my collection.

Are those guys the only toys released for the Mecha Warriors line?

Yes there were only eight toys released in the line. Four molds in two colours. The TF minispies introduced the new colour schemes.

Awesome collection. So everything you sell is actually from it. How much did you pay in Japan for your Blue and Black-Hooded Bluestreaks (my current obsession )?

The Blue Bluestreak I bought on YJ for about £200.00 although it was missing the driver. The Black Hooded Bluestreak I traded with a freind for a Takara Blockman Giftset. The black version seems at least as rare (if thats the right word) as the blue version but sells for rather less (although I've never seen a mint version). The only Diaclone piece I am searching for at the moment is a boxed Yellow Sideswipe...which is prooving rather tricky!

Do you mean an Italian Diaclone yellow Sideswipe? I'm not sure it was released in yellow in Japan.

Nice piece! I have seen the Italian version for sale but I am a sucker for buying the Japanese releases. There was deffinately a Nippon release as a freind of mine has one (but doesnt want to sell it to me ).

I'm jealous...amongst all the great pre-tf items you have, you have the biggest hole missing from my collection...an original VXS Convoy vs. Megatron.

I wish As far as I am aware the VSA was never commercially available and only a smattering of pre-production samples were made. I have certainly never seen one in the flesh and know of nobody who has? All I've seen of it is that grainy pic on the net. If any still remain I would imagine they are in the possesion of former Takara employees.

Forgive my noobishness - whats a VSA please? I normally only have interest in pre-TF diaclones...

VSA was going to be a G1 Menasor/Superion Giftset. It would be 1 large giftset that contained all of the Stunticons and all of the Arielbots. It seems to have never actually seen production, though there are some low quality pictures of the box floating around the web.

Dang, for a minute there I thought someone broke into my storage unit and took some pictures of some of my favorite things...

I heard somewhere that there may be a prototype of the flashlight bot, locked up at takara HQ but interesting piece was not made. Would almost fit into the new real gear line if it wouldn't outshine them all.

Nice to see the gobot laser gun in there.
