Hello guys, I've thought about creating an online petition to send to Takara/Ehobby asking for a reissue of Diaclone Bluestreak, aka Blue Bluestreak. Would you be interested in such a reissue? I would, as I like Diaclone varants and don't want to battle on ebay to get a loose one for $300 or a boxed one for $700.

One one condition, they don't make a true remake. All we need is a new surge of Blue Bluestreaks in TF boxes showing up on ebay.

I'd sign up

.
All they need to do is change the copyright stamps and its all good!

Thanks for the replies. Actually I would also like all the remaining Diaclone color variants of the Honda City R/Turbo, Hilux and Wrecker to be reissued, but I guess it'd be too much to ask for in one petition whereas BB is really the popular one...

Although I doubt it will have much success (considering they could've released him years ago and went instead with the chrome silver), I'd definitely sign on.
Blue Bluestreak is very high on my want list and although I could afford the e-bay prices, I really refuse to spend that kind of money on a TF.

I got tired of waiting so I made a custom BBS long ago. It's the wrong shade of blue mind you, but that's ok, not much painting was involved thanks to Smoke Screen.
I would like more repaints to come around. New characters based on the old molds, like the Desert Hound and others.
I have mixed feelings about the Diaclone color remakes, I appreciate the fact I now has a Deep Cover because I never would have found a decent real one in my price range, but all the other ones that they remade I have original ones of. This not only lessens mine somewhat, it also takes away several more possibilities. IE they made A repaint for said year, so that could have been something none of us have ever seen during that time.
Black Sunstreaker for one would be a good idea. They have the police car, the red version and classic Yellow. Why not black.
Ironhide with head. I designed heads for them long ago. With a retool of the shoulders the arms would be fine the way things are. just twist.
They are re-releasing G1 prime with the retool head as part of that I-pod campaign, so maybe they will do so again with some other molds.
But with the apparently failed G1 re-release line from TRU, it would see we should not be expecting any more G1's any time soon, cept from possible E-hobby or a toy convention.

I own a Blue Bluestreak and if they do release him, they should make the color of the plastic and the paint the same. Mine is in mint condtion, but the plastic is not the same shade as the paint. Its not just mine, all of them are like that. I know they fixed the paint/plasic with Smokescreen, so they should be able to do it with bluestreak

Do share close up picts. Heck if it's the same blue as with Smokescreen I'll just get metal flake and repaint the body on my custom.

I might buy one. E-hobby should find that factory in China where they make the Swoop KO, steal mold, make a new beak mold, and release a Diaclone, and show accurate, Swoop.

Its not yellowing, its just the color of the plastic. I have seen 3 mint ones (not mine) up close and they are all like this. Thats one way you can tell if one is a custom because the color is uniform

I recently purchased a blue streak that is blue and is stamped by hasbro. I know many of you may not believe that this figure actually exist but it did. Like many of you I do remember an actual bluestreak figure that was blue witha chrome hood and ttop that was out in the early 1980's but was replaced with a silver or grey color blue streak. The blue streak I have looks exactly like the one on the original g1 box and was not repainted. It is stamped hasbro and is 100% originall. I will post pics as soon as I can.

There was a guy selling them last year. It was the silver E-hobby Bluestreak, with a "House of Color" transparent blue, it looked professional. Its basically automotive paint, so it is fairly durable and he probally put in on with a spray gun to get the clean finish
Here is the old post about it from 2004
http://www.TFans.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=10295This is just one example. The one that was actually painted looked much better, and just for the record the copyright on the chrome bluestreak is in fact 1980, 1982. They never updated the copyright, except they blocked out the japan thing. Please look at Maz's article about it
http://www.tf-1.com/articles/reissue_frame...rt=ChromestreakAlso the one pictured in the auction and the one from the old thread both are missing the sticker that goes over the two screw holes on the hood, this is so you can separate the head and paint it. The chrome one came with a chome sticker and the rest came with a silver or black. But the sticker is applied at the factory

Hi Backfire,
not all Blue bluestreaks have that case of bad plastic doors.
I've seen a few that are in better shape than that.
The plastic will NEVER match metals colors (I think that is the case for many TFs...not only Bluestreak).
Take care!

Its still discolored, its just harder to see in the pics, if you enlarge the pic to 200 % you can easily see it, let alone if you tweek it in photoshop you can see the color shift better.
Here is it enlarged to 200% (you can see the discoloration)

Thanks AM, for the props.

The Anime and blue Bluestreaks, and Powered Convoy are customs. The Honda City Turbo R, and Yellow Sideswipe are original Japanese Diaclones. Also, in the pic on top of Convoy's trailer are original Diaclone Jazz and Diaclone Smokescreen. lol

I hope your petition is VERY successful, because a blue Bluestreak reissue would be a Win-Win situation for both the fans and the Tf industry. Both in profits and collection completion.
I'm just worried that we'll have such an overstock of a once rare Tf, that the original has lessened it's value.. like what happened when they reissued Stepper. That guy sells actually, cheaper than the other reissues. HEHEE.
I'm still waiting for an Artfire reissue. LOL
I don't own a real blue Bluestreak, so I'm all for a reissue. Takara listen up.
autobotmaintenance
Apr 12 2007, 01:08 AM
The red Skids and yellow Sideswipe are tough pieces to find too.
Yeah, Artfire would be great! And as Inferno was reissued it wouldn't be too hard to do either. Stepper is quite cheap indeed (see at HLJ!) but if BB was reissued as an eHobby exclusive, the demand might be stronger than the offer... Look what happened to the Anime/proto Astrotrain! I didn't foresee that and still regret not having got one at the beginning. As for the original white Astrotrain, its price decreased a lot at the beginning, then it recovered its value... I guess when a vintage TF item is really rare, it's not affected by the reissues.
But what am I just seeing... Takara/TOMY re-releases G1 Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave in 'Renewal Packaging' this summer? Come on, this is the opportunity to let them know we want BB too! Go ahead guys and sign up!!!

Gentleman (and ladies if there are any),
I'm not against the idea of a Blue Bluestreak reissue...it would be awesome after all.
Does anyone own a Black-hooded Bluestreak reissue?
Have you seen the quality of the plastic in comparison to the original? I've seen the differences and I was very disappointed in the quality that Takara used to create some of the plastic pieces.
I guess my argument here is not too much the color scheme (which BBS has an awesome one), but more the reissue quality!
I've seen the black and police sideswipes and they are/were worth every penny...same thing for the yellow swipe as well.
I would raise the argument to reissue a Ehobby set with a Red and Police Sunstreakers...would be very interesting (and I think would be very successfull!!)
Rumors did circulate back in the day when the black bluestreak was reissued (much confusion was around this issue...nobody know what color it what have been).....and many collectors were very happy about this release.
Then reviews were very negative of the plastic quality of some of these toys!!
As we all can see TAKARA has almost stopped reissuing G1 cars.
Takara by now has alternators/binaltech in the foreground and movie toys as well.
There should be a 3rd company (or someone in China) who should be looking at that petition!!
Take care!

Hi Overlord,
I see your point. Yes, I have the Anime Bluestreak reissue and am a bit disappointed about the grey plastic for the doors, hands and head. You can see a good comparison in Maz's article:
http://tf-1.com/articles/pretf_frame.php?art=blackzHowever, the type of plastic used apparently depends on the color chosen. All of reissue Prowl and Smokescreen's plastic parts are of more than decent quality. So, for BB's blue plastic,we might get a better result.
As for the life of the G1 reissue lines, the 'Renewal' line is here to lengthen it:
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=129561I doubt the figures sold will be just overstock. But instead of just revamping Optimus and Megatron's package for the x
th time, it would be a good idea to show them what G1 collectors really want. That's what the petition is for.
As all recolors, red and police Sunstreakers would be really nice, but as the yellow one was not even reissued, it seems he belongs to the club of the lost molds. At least Bluestreak/Prowl/Smokescreen was reissued, that's why a blue version is possible, and IMO such a piece
must be made.

Hi autobotmaintenance,
please do not be mistaken......Takara has the resources to make a Masterpiece Megatron but they cannot that the time to reissue a G1 Sunstreaker? Even if we all think that the molds are gone (which is probably true)....how much effort would it take to go out there...buy a stupid G1 Sunstreaker and recast its mold???!!
We would all presume that it's a corporate decision or of the sorts!
It's GUARANTEED that Takara would have massive success if they would reissue the following:
- Yellow Trailbreaker
- Blue Trailbreaker
- Red Sunstreaker
- Police Sunstreaker
- Blue Bluestreak
- Marlboro Wheeljack
- Red Mirage
- Red Hoist
- Blue Hoist
- Black Skids....(this is much rarer than Blue Bluestreak...I don't see a petition for this one!!)
- Red Skids (both resular and City R)
Please petition....DINOBOTS!
Take care!

although I guess that the ehobby dino's would probably end up pink 'kiss' dino's...

Apr 17 2007, 11:20 AM
Yeah sometimes they really need to be told what to do...
Overlord: absolutely, all those reissues would rock! But I thought it was better to be sensible for a first try and petition the most popular (=expensive) one and the most reissued as a mold. And as I'm seeing how hard it is to motivate the public for even this one, imagine how it would be for a black Skids...
As for remaking molds, I don't know if it's true, but I read in another post on KOs that it costed Takara so much to remake accurate molds for Optimus' arms that it's the reason why they're making so many versions... If it's true, they can't reissue Sunstreaker as many times

Tbh they should pay the KO companies to make the molds and just QC them before use...

Thanks for your participation. Currently the number of sigs is 194. Well, if you're a new reader of this forum and are interested or know collectors who would be interested in the piece, please add your signature and we'll reach 200. I don't know how significant this can be, but I think I'll submit it in December, before Takara decides which figures will finish the Encore line. If they include Prowl or Bluestreak, there might be a way for a e-Hobby Blue Bluestreak? I could submit it to Hasbro as well.
