*i just read issues 95-103*

they went so long without touching the clone saga.... and with one issue everything has gone bat Blot insane AGAIN. didnt they learn theyre lesson? i seriously almost didnt beleive i was reading it.

mary jane now has the oz virus. theres a female peter clone. theres three other clones but it doesnt matter cuz theyre dead i think. peters dad is back, but hes a clone. the carnage thing is back but thinks its gwen. aunt may dissowns peter after he tells her hes spiderman, the has a heart attack. nick fury and the FF are everywhere. xmen should have been there to but nothing amounted of that. and doc oc was behind it all. and im betting it was actually osborn behind it all if this is to emulate the non ultimate spiderman. oh and doc ock actually has powers the same as or similar to magneto....
THATS WAY TO MUCH TO KEEP TRACK OF. but for gods sake. what in the hell were they thinking? i need to re-read a bunch of issues i think. i dont remember what happened with the symbiote saga to well.

I really like the clone saga so far. issue 104 wraps up a lot, and 105 is going to be a double sized aftermath issue. This arc really did feel like it had been built up to, not just retconed to appear that way. To be completely honest, I'm sorry they didn't have the scarlet spider in this. Sure the original clone saga had it's problems, but he was a terrific character.

ben reilly was a great character for sure. if you read "spiderman: the lost years" it showed him a lil more in depth and made him pretty interesting. and the female peter is interesting... i cant wait to read 105 to see what how this all wraps up. ive calmed down a bit since i read them, but i still think it was way to much stuff to jam into those eight issues. i mean his dad shows up out of nowhere, and even while theres like a solid three pages of text of his dad trying to explain stuff, nick fury and a million guys along with the ff are running around causing havok. it was to mushed together. the original clone saga was more than a year running to my memory.

Issue 104 actually has Peter declare his love for MJ. Which might not be such a good idea for him, considering he's involved with Kitty at the moment.

hes still with kitty? but they had the freakout on the phone, then when all the clone craziness was going on she tried to drag the xmen over to help but nothing amounted of that.... i dont actually have 104 yet, but ive read about it. do the xmen show up?

"Perfect"...that I wouldn;t say. She has way too much angst. Given, PP also has a lot of angst about his relationships and his life (to the point that it feels like I'm reading the same comic over and over again, at times), but she keeps nagging about it. On the other hand, they do have chemistry together, having a similar mentality and all that.

In all honesty, I never really had a 'feel' for the character of Mary Jane. As in, I couldnt write her myself, as a character. However, I do feel she has a good influence on Peter/Spidey, which is why I;m in favor of their relationship.

i think every relationship peter will have whether its mj or gwen or kitty, its still gonna be crazy angst. they are the perfect age for theyre silly minds to blow things way out of proportion. think back to when you were a teenager. everything that ever happened was earth shattering. and thats the point i get to in the comic where i just think "like grow up already." but i still dig the series.

i dont think kitty is perfect for him though. mj is only in danger when people find out about her. kitty on the other hand while being able to take care of herself, puts herself in the same danger peter does every day. so neither are really "safer" being with peter. either relationship is going to have its moments.

any ideas what will happpen with the female peter clone? and i think peters dads clone died so fast because he was clonedto be like 50 something, so he must have had some acceperated aging even more so than the others because they were just teens, thus the mighty fast death.

heh watch that dr ock end up as a clone sliced wit magneto dna and the real one reappear someday.

The writer is Brian Bendis. The character is Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman. In other words, she'll be features heavily in the comics from now on, being a new incarnation of Bendis' core of favorite/only-used characters.

And probably end up marrying Luke Cage.

My guess: she joins the Ultimates.

I think not. Physically, she's at about the same age Peter is. In other words, she;s a minor. Fury wouldn;t want her on the team, first of all because she's not old enough, second of all because PR-wise it would be a nightmare, and thirdly, because she wouldn;t be trustworthy, being a clone made by Doc Ock and all. But the age-thing would be a major point, because if that wasn't a problem, Fury would have annexed Peter into the Ultimates long before.

An OoC reason: At the age of 15-or-so, she wouldn;t be able to f*ck anyone in the team, so no angst.

well if she did...that would be some REAL aingst....

was the carnage gwen a clone? i dont remember how the carnage eating people thing ended.

Well, during a Wizard interview about his plans for "Ultimates 4", Jeph Loeb commented on the McGuinness Ultimate Spider-Woman design that had been "leaked" by saying "I have no idea what that is, but it shouldn't have been leaked in the first place" or something to that effect. BTW, Ed McGuinness is the artist for Ultimates 4 (probably debuting in 2009) and the Ultimate Spider-Woman design in question looked exactly like the 616 Jessica Drew.

Oi, Ultimate Continuity is a mess. FF is taking place in the past, X-men somewhat at the same time as Spider-man, but not exactly, and Ultimates in the future. But how they all interlink, no-one know.

I think the series has been missing the high school life for a while, and I'm glad it's back. I just hope we don't get hit with 3 arcs' worth in five issues.

Well, the "High School Teen Drama" factor is more "MJLSM" than USM, IMO. But, yeah, I can appriciate some High School drama. However, I don;t like my Spidey overrun with angst, which happens far too often with this kind of thing.

new artist, green goblins back, how do we all feel about it?

i for one am actually excited to get a new issue of usm once again. ill always love bagley's spiderman, but i have to say im quite impressed with immonen at the moment. i like that kitty wasnt just tossed aside by the writers. but i hope we dont see any monster morphing mary janes. would it be so much to ask them to not mess with her anymore? oh well. we all know its gonna happen. norman is back again. i keep wondering how peter is able to square off against him physicaly. i mean he shares more characteristics with the hulk than he does the green goblin. by all accounts he should be able to destroy peter effortlessly. and this spiderman is still a novice. but im looking forward to seeing future developments.

I'm not sure how I feel about immonen, but I'm glad Bagley's gone. Don't get me wrong, his spider-man fights were awesome. But I think he has one face that he can draw. During the clone saga, I thought spider-woman was Kitty when she first pulled down her mask.

That said, I think I like this arc so far. Ultimate Knights was really awesome. I really want to go back to reading this in trade since it flows better, but when I see the new issues, I can't not get them.

Immonen really is screwing this one up, IMO. I expect better from him. It's almost as if he's being rushed or something...
