Okay, so I wasn't entirely sure where to post this. I figured the 'art' gallery was the best place, considering there are some 'drawn' parts to the thing. Otherwise, it's a story told in live action form.

Kinda.

Actually, it's one of those comics where you use the toys as your characters. But it's Transformers, so there you go. smiletf.gif

Anyway, I have the prologue linked below. If this looks interesting to you guys, I'll post some more later.

Deathmarch
It's very cool, nice effects and it's a pretty fun little firefight scenario.
Only problems I have with it are some sequential choices, but overall it's a nice little comic. Good Job.
GUIGUI
I like it.

But you should put a link to your main page. I have the worst difficulties to browse through your other archives.

Nice stop-motion, by the way: http://tftaba.angeltowns.net/toybstr.swf
Pun-3X
Well, problem is, I use the site as more of a place to upload my images. Its capacity for webpage building is highly proprietary. I can't build HTML pages and then upload them (and other files) at the same time, I have to make the code right there on the site using a build-page, then attach files manually from a built-in uploading page. And I can only attach 12 files at a time, and folders don't count.

The site was cheap though, a straight $20 for 200mb.

I plan on finding a decent webspace once I get a good page-building program (Dreamweaver, or something) and going from there. Then I can just upload a whole folder full of everything and work more efficiently. For now, I'm just making these small little link-ups.

And thanks for the compliments on the stop-motion bit. That was the final project for a college course I was taking. smiletf.gif

Deathmarch: Which parts felt a little out of order for you? I still have these files in PSD format and can rather easily switch around some panels here and there. Some of them are by design, but I may have missed something.
Hunter Rose
how do you make your lazer blasts?
I do a webcomic in INH (se sig for chapters)
i use Adobe PhotoDeluxe.

i guess i could draw blast like you do - but i am lazy/stupid.

please tell me the secret

Hellscream333
This is the first one of these to keep me interested......pretty well executed. keep 'em comin'.
Pun-3X
I use Photoshop 7. The secret is using a "screen" layer for brighter effects. The rest is simply technique. smiletf.gif

I'm glad you guys like what you see. smiletf.gif

I don't know, but I'm figuring the easiest way to do this is post the images themselves. From here on out, it'll probably be a handful at a time (2-4 strips). It'll eventually slow down as I come closer to where I've left off, so that I might keep a decent lead on the comic. Hopefully you all still like what I've got. biggrintf.gif

Shadow Nymph
Great work on the pages thumbsup1.gif I'm a graphic designer myself and like what your doing -wish I even had that many TFs lol. As far as hosting... you can check out guy I go through hostingtitan.net pretty good prices. Personally I use Dreamweaver for my web designs and upload to the server, something to think about to help you out smiletf.gif
Pun-3X
Hey, those are some good deals there. Thanks for the tip--I might look at that. biggrintf.gif

And yeah, I was thinking Dreamweaver as well. It'd make things much easier. smiletf.gif

What about Robot Nation as a Title For this I saw the Gun dams and just Thought Gun DAMNNED

THAT COMIC ROCKED! I ENJOYED EVERY FRAME! I WANT TO SEE MORE! clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif thumbsup1.gif thumbsup1.gif
Pun-3X
Thanks--I'm glad it's enjoyable. smiletf.gif

Here's the next segment:

Deadpool
I like how the images look very sharp. I forgot to mention that I was also impressed with the way you do the fire blasts & explosions. Very top knotch work.
SmellyFerret
Loving it!

The blasts / lasers etc are all done very well and that matches with the clear and unclutered pics.

The stop motion rocked too! - I'd love to see more smiletf.gif

Seriously well done!
Pun-3X
Thanks. smiletf.gif Dunno if I'll do anymore stop-motion stuff, but we'll have to see.

here's more:

Deadpool

tentagil
Great stuff. Can't wait to see more.

GUIGUI
cool.
Pun-3X
Thanks!

Next:

Deadpool
Nice room! thumbsup1.gif
GUIGUI
I forget to mention. One of the think I particulary ppreciate on your comic is the fact that the pic are not blur.
Maximo Prime
This is one of the best toy-comics I've ever seen. Fun to read, well taken pics. Great work!!
Pun-3X
Thanks. One thing I'm kinda picky about is the pic quality. I'll usually end up taking two to five pics of each shot I want, just to make sure I get the focus right. (It's not always easy to tell on that little screen on the back of the camera, even with the zoom feature...)

Deadpool
Like how you use different bots thumbsup1.gif Good stuff!
Pun-3X
Yeah, that's kinda fun. Having all the various series of bots all mixed in (and a Gobot or astromech here and there) makes it interesting. It also gives me a somewhat larger cast to work with. icon_wink.gif

Hunter Rose
Damn I am behind!
This really is well done!
tentagil
Great work. This jsut gets better and better. Its not jsut another joke comic, good mix of humor and actual story elements. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this.
Pun-3X
Well, I do hope you enjoy where I take the story. I have to admit, the first part is slow-going, as I am introducing elements of this 'world' as well as this new character. The eventual plot of this 'chapter,' will come along eventually. smiletf.gif

Deadpool
This is so cool! Where is that female bot from. She is perfect for the part you you put her in. By the way, the sets kick ass! I feel like I am reading a one of those Toyfare mags comics, Twisted Theatre. I hope you summit this to be published somewhere.
Pun-3X
Thank you. I'm glad you like the setup. smiletf.gif

That's actually the waitress bot from Star Wars EpII. And yeah, she does work great as a secretary/desk-jobber.

And I plan to eventually have a webcomic site that updates Mon/Wed/Fri. I have to get a page making program first (Dreamweaver seems to be the one I'm most interested in). I think I'm going to have too much material to submit to a magazine. Or so I hope. icon_wink.gif

Dude, being military as I am I'm getting flashbacks to almost any time I've had to deal with the personnel shop about anything. This is jsut great stuff.
Hotspot17
My god!
I'm HOOKED!!!
This is awesome!!!
I want more!! MORE!!!
drool.gif

I was never a big fan of these comics but now, I see the light!!!
Pun-3X
Glad I've got you hooked. smiletf.gif

And Deadpool, I appreciate the "Speedbreaker" support there! XD My man looks like he can use the back-up. icon_wink.gif

And now for something completely different:

(sorta)

I'm Batman
I've got to be honest I don't normally like webcomics where it's just the toys wandering around the room/house. They normally come off as half-ass attempts at boob and fart jokes.

But this has been great so far and it's really kept my attention. Keep up the good work thumbsup1.gif
MinionOfNodd
From one comicker to another, good job! I too normally don't like comics based around toys/live objects, but you pull it off well. Reminds me of Alien vs. Predator. optimuslaugh2.gif
Frapp
This comic is really well done. Both in the writing and the images. Your panels are clear as day and extremely well framed. Keep up the good work.

A few questions if I may
1. What camera are you using for this?

2. How are you managing to get the rack focusing effect (making objects blurry while others are clear)? Are you just Photoshopping it or is this all done in camera?

Thanks for the compliments. smiletf.gif

The camera I have is an Olympus C750-UZ. 4.0 Megapixel.

That's done with the camera. (mostly) Sometimes I might 'blur' something in the background, but that's mostly because it came out too clear, or it's something I'd rather not show up in a lot of detail. Usually, I'll distance two objects, get the camera in as close as I can to the first object (just before it starts getting out of focus) and then simply manually adjust the focus for the two. I guess the best example would be between the two "Huntricons" as they're talking to Hound and the new Speedbreaker.

Oh, and a macro-setting on the camera really helps a lot for this.
Deadpool
Nice! I just noticed on the monitor it shows two TF's talking. What is that from?
Radioactive Ravage
Nice work! You've got a lot of good jokes, here... and a good storyline, to boot.

Keep it up, I can't wait to hear more stories of... "Super Speedbreaker?" ^^

Ah yes. That was an old friend of mine--actually, a few of them--from a couple of years ago. The website is called TF:QMS (Questionable Mental Stability) The main artist goes by "Cil Veshy" or "Acer." I asked her if I could use her homepage as a random computer background, and she was cool with it.

The website may still exist, though I can't find it. She does have a deviant art page.

In the meantime, more stuff!

Radioactive Ravage
Sandrock Custom is teh AWESOME! XD

Hm... I don't understand why Wing Gundam is so cautious... why does he think the Autobots are such a threat?

Those are model kits, right? What size in inches?
Pun-3X
Yes, these are indeed model kits. They're 1/100 scale, ranging from 7-1/4" to 7-1/2" tall.

As for the caution displayed, the Gundam in this story are the 'keep to ourselves/take care of ourselves' kind, and haven't tried to get to know the other groups.
tentagil
isolationist eh, never a good thing, every country or group that has ever tried that has ended up getting hurt by it. Which something tells me is exactly whats going to happen to the Gundams.

I continue to love this thing.
Autobot032
Excellent comic. 1luvu.gif
