I have the entire 80 issue series in VG-NM condition. I'd like to sell.

If one looks at a comic pricing guide, it looks as though it would cost $800+ to buy the whole series. Obviously, a seller like me would expect to get less than a comic dealer.

But judging from eBay at least, there seems to be basically no demand for these comics. It's like people will only pay $1 per issue.

Has anyone here worked in a comic shop, does anyone currently work in one or just have a lot of comic book value knowledge?

I figure that if a comic shop would charge me $800 to buy all 80 issues, that some comic shop should be willing to pay me $400 for mine.

So what can you guys tell me about the value of the comics?

There are indeed guides to show the value for a collection like that. But, the current rate is about a third of the resale-value. So, you can get about 250 for your collection in a comic-store.

most of the ones at my LCS are selling for $2-$3.
Teh INTERNETS ^_^
Whenever I find a single issue of Marvel Transformers its only €3 (ironicaly cheaper than the reisues). Those G.I. Joe/Transformers crossovers go for €10-€12.
I'd say your best bet is put them up in the End Cap or Tfields and see does someone want them.
Big Grim
only the hardcore collectors will go for them since the casual reader could just pick up Generations or the Titan collections. So End Cap and TFieds is your best bet for now. Otherwise, contact a comic book store and see if they'll take them off your hands.

Honestly, only the last 15 or so issues are really worth anything. The rest is pretty much dog meat.

Comics as a whole are really not worth as much as they use to be unless they are some sort of special "limited" release that is hard to find. This is because most people can now download ENTIRE comic lines for free in a few hours time if they know where to look (no I am not condoning this, but it is a fact of our civilization--there are those that just want to read the comics and there are those that want to own them). This makes general release comics (such as the Transformers) a bit too "common" for the modern collector.
