Greetings! New member on the board (occasional lurker).

My 7 yo son has been collecting TF for the past 4 years (which has, I admit, provided me with a convenient excuse for me - like Alternators)

I'm in Wisconsin (recently moved) and was thinking about making the trek with my son to BotCon. Since it's about an eight hour drive, I didn't know if it would be worth it. I've never been to a convention of this sort - is it something that a 7 yo would find interesting? I'm sure he would love the dealer room, but would that be it for him? Thanks for the feedback!

He'd probably like the art displays too. and maybe some of the guest panels (although they sometimes use strong language).

The kids always love the cosplayers* at the UK conventions!



*cosplayers = weirdos fans that dress up like their fave character.

I think I'll give it a try. He's pretty excited about the idea. I'm hoping they have some movie tidbits, and I am really hoping (for my own selfish reasons) that someone will have that masterpiece Starscream.

I've never been to a Botcon myself, but from what I've seen and heard it should be pretty fun for him. Just be careful in the dealer room... I'm sure some of the stuff will be pretty expensive.

YEs if botcon are anything like a train show. I was at a show about 2 years ago. This loinel train was MINT. it looked like someone bought it and forgot about it. the guy son went to pick up another piece to the set and droppied it and broke the body. The dealer went nuts, the dealer may the guy buy the set. So just keep a good eye on your son. As a Dealers helper I know he puts high dollar items in his glass cases.

Fixed, because they do nothing other than creep me out.

It's not the costumes, they're cool as hell & look like fun...
