Back when Diaclone and Microchange was NEW, the creators of the series created, the mini catalogs.  They apparently wanted to promote their toys so quickly that they used production art, instead of pictures of the actual toys.

In the quest to complete my collection, some of my toys came with these catalogs, and as such showing some of these really interesting proto images.

Its hard to tell, but

Soundwave's head is from Trailbreaker
Megatron has that COOL folding trigger guard
The Onmibots appear to have Prowl's head.
Tracks has a upper wing section, and face
Wheeljack has a face and nose (Marlboor has a mouth on actual toy)

Welcome to the Pre TF section!

I must post some scans from my Diaclone Dinobot catalogues. I've always been intrigued by the prototype Dinobot pictures.

Interesting that Megatron looks a lot like the design used in #1 of the comic.
