im going to enjoy this series, although seeing how motorized transportation was limited to few different designs i dont see a huge # of Tf's being displayed. Also, most of the designs featured are not obviosly "in disquise". I dont remember seeing a steam train with pincers.
Big Grim
yeah, but it fits the freaky sci-fi type designs you'd see in something like Wild Wild West (friggin robot spider)
Teh INTERNETS ^_^
I'm suprised nobody has commented on how badass Megatron looks in black
Father Time
Meh, after Star Wars, The Matrix, X-men and what not, I think most people are a bit satuurated by black.

I like how they made Bumblebee a non-piloted vehicle.
Drewbie
I really liked the first issue.  I hope they explain where the hell all the other TFs went.
Skywave
First time i've seen that, but having watched "Steamboy" recently i rather like all the steampunk designs   thumbsup1.gif

Argghhhhhh *runs to all-night comic store*
Starscreamer
real nice designs...I liked how they were ALL dinobots biggrintf.gif Seeing Huffer and the others de-powered...plus I think that was skywarp in the water...and Shockwave's design is just a thing of beuty

no friggin doubt.  I really like the pre-earth mode.  The organic designs for the machines really caught me off guard, as well as Bumblebee's seemingly immediate conversion to an earth mode.

The only part that slightly bothered me was that the TFs speak english, but I can get over that easily.
HEADMASTER
the pre steam designs remind me of Marvel G1 style figures. Just look at the faces and the way the hands are shaped

FECKING AWESOME

I went to the indie comic shop next to me, and they hadn't even ordered it. grr.gif So I had to go all the way up the parkway to the chain, and they had ONE left. *squeal* It was kind of lame because I was wearing my autobot logo t-shirt today too. :fandork

I have to get used to IDW's "shove all the ads at the end" thing. I was like, "waaa? it's over?"

What's awesome that there is some hope that these guys will have their own toys thanks to the Titanium Series (the 6-inch ones I hope).

WWII toys first! WWII toys first!!!!
Big Grim
I want War Within toys, WWII toys, and Optimus Prime as a HISS tank from teh first DDP Joe/TF crossover
( . Y . )
...

Well let's not be greedy now or anything
Domo arigato Domestoboto
Wow Guido constantly amazes me with the quality of his work.

And for some reason I have Phil Le Mar's (Green Lantern off JLU) when ever I read John Henry's lines.

But those designs, wow. This book is gonna be alot of fun, especially with that last page *squeal*
Rapid Run
I finally went to the comic shop today and I got the final issue that they had.(with the awesome BB skectches) I really liked how the story starts to develop, although BB's change into the locomotive was WTFish. The pre-earth forms looked awesome, BB was awesome with all the horns and stuff. Can't wait for more.

Hell Yes. I would totally love to see those as toys as well.
Big Grim
I loved how Optimus had Big Convoy's beast form, but who was the other Prime looking guy with shoulder cannons. The shoulder cannons make me think of Optimus Primal, and that dragon on the first page looked like TM2 Megatron. Those first coupla pages were awesome. It's like the G1 TFs ended up fighting the Beast Wars and continued to fight it throughout the ice age.

Yeah, I was thinking all of that. And I noticed Bombshell as one of the flying creatures in the big fight spread.
Strikeback
I noticed the Big Convoy thing too, and I had to reread the book twice to make sure that I hadn't skipped a page or two between Bumblebee peering into the window and suddenly turning into a steam engine. I think the fact that Chuck Dixon is writing this and not one of the "established" TF scribes kinda leads to the gap there.

I hope they do Evolutions minis during the Dark Ages, the Renaissance, Cold War-era Russia and feudal Japan, among others.
Big Grim
nah, i think it fits the timeline and mood of the book to knock make it too sci fi by elaborating on Bumblebee quickly scanning and transforming off panel.

I didn't think of that...it would kind of ruin the atmosphere.

if you loom on the first big fight page look on both the left and right sides and you'll see two bumblebees.

ok, first off, smart guy look at the poses. They are exactly a cut and paste job. Second bumblejumper traditionaly had a goggle styled face. This didnt. Take a better look next time.

Damn pull in the claws wovlie...and "tradionally"? umm bumble never appeared officially untill the DW books...and it's not like there are not OTHER transformers that share Bumble Bee's transformation...
hubcap
cliffjumper
glyph
bumper (also bumblejumper)
tap out...

I didn't know it was a sensitive subject for ya though...
( . Y . )
optimuslaugh2.gif Really...grow an Hotspot or something
Big Grim
ok, first off it isn't another "Bumblebee." It was Cliffjumper. Seriously you guys, you read way into this stuff way too much. The one with Bumblebee's head is Bumblebee, and the one with Cliffjumper's head is Cliffjumper. Don't need to go all fanboy here  rolleyestf.gif

agree.gif I bought the comic today and looked for this "error" straight away. The one on the right is clearly Cliffjumper and is definately not a "cut and paste job". rolleyestf.gif Someone should have gone to Specsavers...

Anyhoo I liked the comic overall. The human characters are well rounded and believable. I like the way this is a totally new interpretation of the Transformers saga (i know it isn't but it could be viewed as a prequel to Infiltration although later issues will probably moot that) in that they have been fighting here for a very long time. The beast modes rocked. I just hope they come up with a good explaiination as to how Bumblebee became the train.

Plz don't connect thx...I don't like this thought

And it didn't really look like Cliffjumper to me. Oh well...like I know anything
Big Grim
He's got the same helmet design as Cliffjumper, so it's definitely him. Anyway, I'm guessing Bumblebee just quickly scanned the train that was already on the tracks. That's just what I assumed anyway.

huffermad.gif I hate that Armada esque quickscan because in theory couldn't someone like Bumblebee just steal say Starscream's alt modemid battle?
Big Grim
probably, but why would he want to do that. It's one thing to adapt your alt mode to blend in with the times (i.e. Evolution) and it's another thing to just spontaneously change your alt mode for no good reason at all. I doubt Bumblebee would want to look anything like a Decepticon jet. And I really don't see how the scan is Armada-esque

Well in the Armada cartoons they just instantaniously scanned something they saw. I'm just saying in theory he could scan the jet mode so he could fly away or something.

Yeah really- I need more realism with my fantasy. F*ck imagination.
