I been stuck in my dungeon for so long, and made a little shelf to display a little of my G1 cars and things...its a little depressing that I can't get it all out on display.

Note, Marlboor and Blue Bluestreak are customs.  Red Tracks is TraS, silver skids is diaclone, Mirage is LIEGER Tras.  Only remake I own is Deep Cover and Stepper.  (Derset Hound too but it ain't a remake of an old school)

Well, got my self out of bed and off to a local Flea Market in NJ (Columbus) in a rather NICE day.  Rounded my first corner and ran into a gentleman who has not been around in a couple years.  Under the shade of a tarp, hanging off the back of his truck was to BIG bins of loose TF's and pieces...politely asked to take a look, and spent the next 1/2 hr+ wading through Transformers BLISS. 

He had lots of decent G1 items, pieces and parts scattered all over.  While talking about this and that, dove into the box and just started putting things together.  Soundwaves guns here, Merge groups there.  Even put a Mask Camaro back together.  In there he had a couple wheel jacks, one missing accessories, but had the basics (once I found em and re-attached) the other was missing everything cept the hood and head (I wonder why a lot of them are missing fists, but this one had those, just no windshield or doors). 

While my Transformer parts swim, I found a tank tread that looked familiar.  While holding it the guy asked me what it was and I told him it had to be a block man piece, tried to explain what they were and he pulls out a bag of em.  About 6.  Digging further I found 3 more treads (one missing a wheel, and I remember seeing it...duh) a big robot fist, missile launcher, drill, radar dish and ultra magnus launchers which work well with blockmen so in they went. 

Got done telling the guy about how rare it was any more.

Anytime I come across bins like that I skip the sorting part, and get right down to buisness. I lay down an offer and 95% of the time never have to barter. My last good flea market find was almost 2 months ago, lol. Congrats!

Sorry, had to cut my post short.  This guy is cool, but he knows a lot of stuff (not a TF expert, but knowledgeable), and imported tons of old TF's back when they first came out, had lots of microchange toys boxed and all, so his prices are usually market rate.  Example, that Original Wonder Woman doll...$$$, Mego Batman...$$$, Voltron set...$$$. 

So you kinda have to know how far to push before he see's the dollar signs and all.  Otherwise I coulda offered a "Normal" flea marketeer like $50 for the bin and gotten away with the stuff.  $20 for this, $10 for that...coulda KILLED ME. 

Besides, I had FUN just shooting the spit with this guy, traded X wives stories relating to toys.  Motto "Look, I collect things, no drugs, no wife beatings, no plots to take over the world."  You gota just hang out and have a good conversation, and I did.  Even threw in there how I customize things and basicly that's most of what I do any more. 

At any rate, all I came away with was the junker Wheel Jack, and a bag of the block man parts (he probably had more to the set in there too, shame I didn't spend 10 more minutes looking, but that's always the way it works for me.) He offered me the Blocks for $5, and the WJ for 2, I gave him $10 and said keep it cause it was worth it just looking.  Next time he will remember that, and at least chat awhile.  Some dealers round here, won't let people even peek cause they think they will get ripped off or don't wanna get lip from snooty collectors.  I had fun, hopefully he'll be back (migrates to Florida so he probably won't be back for awhile) and have some more stuff.

There's another guy at the mart who is ALWAYS there, and lurkes the marts in the area.  Dave, I used to call him "Jerky" cause he is just that.  Drives vehicles which are CRAMMED TO THE TEETH full of toys.  And I mean EVERY SQUARE INCH!  He has to dig a spot to sit down and drive the car, which sits 2 inches off the ground cause its so packed full of stuff.  He killed 2 trucks so far that I know of, and is working on this poor little car.  Can't imagine what his basement looks like, but from the bragging about this "Box of Transformers" he has down there...its probably flowing out the windows and beyond. 

I got picts of his current car on my computer at home.  It really is amazing.  He barely has much of anything any more.  AND knowing kinda of who I am, if I ask how much say an armless jetfire it, its $50, the average joe, $20. 

As I said in the last posting, its RARE as anything to find ANY TF's round here any more.  The guy I got stuff from today was rather a FLUKE, he does shows and what not (used to have an old basset hound, guess he's not around any more). 
Just wanted to rant, cause one of my favorite things is to find a box of busted TF's, and fix em.  Kinda came close today.

dude, thats awesome. wish i had some diaclomes, but i'm economicly forced to keep my collection narrow. i do really want a jafcon prime though, good job on that score.

The SAD thing about my Diaclone collection...most the what used to be ULTRA rare color variants I have they remade so most people could have the very same stuff I do, or think mine are all remakes. 

Ok, the Black Sideswipe, Deep Cover, and Stepper are remake, but the rest are either real or customs. 

That Black Prime...I had a heck of a time getting ahold of that.  I ran out one morning in the AM to a Wawa convienant store, and got in like to buy a money order at the register.  This lady behind me got all TICKED and yelling because she was in a hurry.  So she slammed her money down and took off running out the door.  I yelled HAVE A NICE DAY...she backed out...right into a truck. 

Made me feel better about all the money I spent on that...got a floor show and everything.

Is the quality of the Kingdam Browning good?  They look good except for the colored weapons.

Naw, my lady love gave me (most of) that swoop, she said "That's MINE". 

Knockoff Kingdam Browning is very good, especially if you get the box.  The only major differences are the orange guns (some had the chrome) and the face is not as sharp as the real thing.  Lines are more dulled. 

I've had 3 in the past, and they were all pretty good, even the one with the missing pin to hold his leg on was pretty cool...it was just when dealers at the flea markets thought it was Megatron and wanted like $100 for one that things started getting real ugly.

That sucks.  I never knew the Kingdam Had chrome weapons.  The one I have in my collection is the Microchange.  Thats the original Takara Pre TF.  They come with chrome weapons and a funkiness to the colors.

I got both now Im on the hunt for the G1 & the Joustra.

I think the PRE-TF Browning came in various colors with the inner legs and mid section.  It might be old mistaken fakes in the mix to throw things off, but some were blue, some yellow and some red parts.  Not sure why they did that.

My first browning fake came in a collection I inherrited from a friend who passed away (to put it nicely) many years ago.  The one gun I got from there came with the chrome (and the tip was green from cat pee). 

The second had nothing, sold it.

Third came in great shape in that banged up box.  Swapped parts and used his main toy with the new box, and sold the rest. 

It would be interesting to get anyone who has a Pre-TF browning to post picts of theirs in robot mode, just to seek out more variations. 

I re-did my shelves...and I don't really like them so going to redo them again tonight. 

Check out the picts and see if you agree with me that they are too cluttered. 

As far as all of those other colors other than the ones I stated, they are all bootleg.  I've never even seen one with a different colored mid section. That'd be interesting to see.From what I understand & have read they were the only 3 official Takara Pre -TF Brownings.  I'd love to get the Joustra.  Its a pain to find though.

I think they and TraSformers are some of the hardest to find there is.  TraS stuck that lable on all sorts of robot toys, it's madness.  MADNESS

WTH is TraSformers?  New to me.

So recently, my good friend Bieu (Bill) comes into work and tells me he sold his condo. Then he told me he went and stayed with his folks, and found some “Old, used transformers� and had a couple shopping bags of them in the car for me. Its about 90 degrees + outside, so all morning long we were all going back and forth about lunch, and he’d tell me how they had better not be damaging the seats in his SUV with their war and all, here I am afraid they are going to melt.

Finally, he was leaving for lunch; I could not go, so he wants me to check them out. I reluctantly went (Because I really did not want to “TAKE� anything, I’d BUY them) and I was expecting a couple shoe boxes full of dusty, and broken used toys. (My favorite).
Planned on sitting around with some screw drivers, and cleaning supplies to fix and check out some old treasures…what awaited me was unbelievable.

Sticking out the top of the first bag, I could see through the tinted window of his Honda was a box flap. It was Scorponok, big as anything protruding through the plastic. I froze in my tracks, and my jaw hit the hot pavement. He opens the door and the bag almost falls out, more boxed G1’s in there along with Scorp. Metroplex, and Lion Bot. Still I can’t say anything cept swear words I won’t repeat. He’s puzzled, and says again “Yea, they are old, used toys, I have no use for them any more, figure you’d like them.� Used? Near MINT in box is his idea of USED? I said right then and there, no way was I just “Taking� these…then we get to bag #2…

Sticking out the side, as proud as could be was the elusive boxed, G1 MEGATRON. I stopped and took this right out of the bag and was in awe. The box was in great shape, as was everything inside. This was one of the few TF’s I wanted boxed either Pre-TF or G1, but never could get my hands on. Have had several loose ones, but not in the original box like this. I said out loud “I’m holding a boxed G1 Megatron…at work…�

Now on my scale of wildest dreams, this was up there, WAY up there. I think the only toppers would be hitting the lottery, (among one other), but this was absolutely unexpected.

Not done yet, next out of that bag was the original Optimus Prime, almost perfect box, minus one flap (another one I wanted in the box but only have loose and complete), Ultra Magnus was another (have the TF and DC versions so, very cool to have another anyway). Iron hide boxed, Hound boxed, and tucked inside the Iron hide box was an inferno.

Bill says “They are all your’s� I said “NO F-in way, not going to do it.�

Here’s where it starts to get kinda tragic. I find in the bottom of the bag, the gas tank for hound. Trying to explain to Bill how much I THINK this stuff is all worth, hold it up and say, THIS is about $20 bucks, maybe $10…Argued for 5 minutes, had to really try to put Megatron back, and went back to work.

On my lunch I ran through Ebay, and items I thought were a couple hundred easy were in fact selling for far less. I keep forgetting the remakes brought the prices down for a lot of the old classics.

Figured the lot was worth about $450, more or less and showed him a estimate. He told me to hang on to them, since he did not have room. SO put them in the back of my Camaro and took them home. Not before taking Megatron into work and having way too much fun with it on my desk, and the Xerox machine…could not resist keeping a scan of it on the desk for all time.

Back at the house I have a pile of these boxed treasures. Took some pictures, but for some reason, have not figured out how to post on the page again since the upgrade.

I’ll have to figure it out when I have time, but thought I’d at least share the story.

In trade, I’m taking several vacation days off work to help him tear the insides of his new house out and heavy manual labor. Small price to pay for more than meets the eye in the box…

In all honesty... I would sell them once the movie comes out... more people getting into TFs = more people wanting TFs from their childhood...
